I know many here have reviewed the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) as the haven for culture and arts in the country and home to world-class Filipino performances, exhibitions, and the like. But having lived near the CCP for more than a decade now, I want to also introduce you to the CCP Complex grounds as great place for fitness activities for humans and canines alike.
If you've passed through CCP Complex in the early mornings and evenings, then you definitely know what I'm talking about. At around 5:00 to 7:00 every day, the CCP lawn, ramp, and fountain area (fronting Roxas Boulevard) is filled with people walking, jogging, running, riding their bicycles, or walking their dogs. Walk past the CCP's main building to its parking lots and to the Manila Bay harbour, and you'll see groups playing basketball or badminton, doing aerobic workouts, and dancing.
It's a perfect place for families to hang out in the mornings as 1) entrance is free; 2) there are many fitness activities for you to do and many like-minded individuals to draw inspiration from; and 3) there are numerous restaurants at Harbor Square for you to eat your breakfast. It's also a good place for barkadas and couples to visit after-office to: 1) watch the sunset; 2) unwind--with coffee or beer; and 3) eat dinner; and 4) enjoy a breezy evening walk.
Don't just come visit CCP when there's a show you have to watch or when you have to pass through it to go to Star City. You'll discover that it has a lot more in store for you if you stop and stay awhile. read more
