NYC Strong Haulers Review…read more Clearing out my childhood home after my mom passed away was one of the most emotional projects I've ever taken on. My parents had lived there for over 50 years, so this wasn't just a junk removal job--it was saying goodbye to a lifetime of memories. Edgar came out the next day after I called to give me an estimate, and what impressed me most was his honesty and transparency. He provided a detailed written quote up front, including both the hauling costs and the dumping fees, so I knew exactly what to expect. Other companies I contacted gave only vague estimates and wouldn't put anything in writing. You should understand that junk removal isn't just about the number of truckloads--dumping fees are another part of the cost. I appreciated knowing all of the expenses beforehand so there were no surprises. That's ultimately why I chose Edgar and NYC Strong Haulers. Maybe another company would have been cheaper--I honestly don't know, because none of the others would commit to an actual quote. From start to finish, Edgar was incredibly responsive, and he and his team worked efficiently and professionally. What stood out most, though, was the way they treated our home and our family. My husband remarked that they carried themselves with the quiet respect and professionalism of a funeral service team. They understood that this wasn't just hauling away belongings; they were helping a family through a difficult transition. They are hardworking, kind, and genuinely good people. I'm grateful for the care they showed during such an emotional time, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend NYC Strong Haulers to anyone facing a major cleanout.

Overall, I had a good experience with Mayflower (who used Molloy Bros. as their agent), and I'd be…read morelikely to use them if I needed movers again. Both the loading and unloading crews were very friendly and helpful. They showed up on time (in fact, the unloading crew was a little early) and did their jobs well. I also liked a lot of the features Mayflower had to offer (ex.- personalized website, instructional videos for packing), but some things could have been executed better. For ex., I had my original estimate done virtually, instead of having an adjuster come out to my home. This actually went very smoothly and worked quite well once it was underway. However, I had some difficulty scheduling the appointment in the first place. (One person told me I had an appointment for someone to come to my home; the next person told me no one was available, so we planned to do the estimate virtually; then the person who did my estimate seemed to have had my appointment recorded for a different time than I was told.) I also didn't get clear instructions/guidance re: how the virtual estimate would work (even when I called to ask) before it happened. This was perhaps the most puzzling (and annoying) thing about my experience: Mayflower assigned one person to be my "move coordinator." It seemed the point of this was so that there would be one person I could contact with any problems/questions, one point person I could always reach no matter what stage the move was in. I thought this was a great feature BUT over the course of my move, about *four different people* were identified to me, at one point or another, as my move coordinator. This partly defeated the purpose of having a move coordinator (I wasn't always sure who to call; I'd call one person and then get contacted by someone else, etc.). Some of my property also got damaged. A floor lamp got its base bent and my piano keyboard got a crack in its plastic casing. Several of my boxes were crushed and books were bent, though most things within the crushed boxes themselves were fine. I have a claim pending about the damaged lamp, so I don't know yet how that will turn out. But, overall, I'd say the movers did a pretty good job, given that it was a cross-country move.

Last minute booking, the guy called me 3 minutes after j messaged him. Asked me about the job, set a time, gave me a VERY reasonable price and no other nonsense They met me at my apartment in Bay Ridge, 3 guys with 2 cargo vans. The 3 guys that came were all nice guys, worked hard, no complaints no wasting time. Got the job done in the time I had hoped and didn't try to throw in any extra fees or BS. None of my stuff was broken, missing, or f'ed up in any way. Great service. Would 100% recommend them to family or a close friend for move. Good job !

First off I was extremely clear to the company as to what was needed and when it came time to send pictures of the items, it was a surprise to them that I needed an additional room moved. Again I was clear in my email to the owner so when he gave me his pricing I was extremely happy. No need to look elsewhere. Right? He straight out played me. Hit me with an additional $200 charge with no time to look elsewhere. Then when we went back and forth and I resent the email I originally sent him when we were discussing pricing, he tried to justify his mistake because his "answer" specifically said "stop" and not additional room. You're a scammer who made a mistake and left me no choice to choose you because I couldn't get another moving company in a days notice. Oh and to top it off an hour late without notice. Had to contact them.

In the past week, I have used these guys twice…read more I initially needed to find a company that could haul away trash from a 5 story townhouse on the Upper East Side. Lots of miscellaneous things, including multiple mattresses, heavy wooden tables, couches, etc. I needed a professional and affordable company that could show up the next day. This wasn't my home, this was an asset that I manage for work. It was imperative for me to get this done right because I had people to answer to. Not all of the furniture fit thru the doors, so these guys had to take a lot of it apart. They worked quickly, were super friendly, and the price was truly a deal!!! I was impressed with how careful they were removing things. It is so easy to mess up floors, walls, etc if things are removed carelessly. By the time they were done, their entire truck was jam packed (see pic). These guys treat the project as if their working in their own homes, which is why I hired them a second time to come clean out my apartment in Brooklyn as I was moving. I needed a heavy bed frame thrown out, a 2 piece couch, 2 glass patio tables, 2 dressers, a small table, along with miscellaneous trash in a few garbage bags. Trust me, it is easier to hire someone to do this instead of trying to coordinate throwing all of this out via street trash. Hauling it down is hard, breaking it up is even worse, but making sure santitation takes everything and avoiding tickets is close to impossible. Use these guys, you will not regret it!
