I have been camping here with my family for a long time. When my sister and I decided to go to…read moreOklahoma State University we have had graduation parties and family member bring their RV's and stay here since 2014. Our spot would always be at pine grove and would go fishing in their crappie pond and were thrilled when they added the new sand beach. Now in 2025, they have made our spot (Pine Grove) where me and many other families have always taken our spring break, fall break and other week vacations at and "annual only site" and closed it off. We thought okay that sucks but we can try out the others sites. We decided to try out Beaver Cove and that has been a MAJOR disappointment. The sites look like they have not been tidied up in who knows how long and their bathrooms are unclean and do not have any soap ever! No decent swimming/fishing areas around it. And ticks everywhere! You would figure if they decided to close off pine grove they would fix up the non-annual spots but no! Seems to be more about the money considering there are more annual spots than non-annual and they are better taken care of. After 11 years of camping here we have decided to look elsewhere to camp. So so so disappointed!!!!

Folks canoe, motorboat, swim, fish and bird watch here. Tiny little beach, sparsely used during the week. Lovely to sit among trees and be at the beach, listening to birds. Family friendly. I have loved coming to Anthony lake for years but this year there seems to be an increase in the…read morenumber of locals coming out to the campground to let their dogs run loose. I had my two dogs out for a walk today when I say a guy, in a while hatchback, had what looked like a pit (white with black spots) chasing after his car around the campground. As soon as his dog saw mine, it came after them with its hackles up. It didn't seem interested in me, it want my dogs. I was able to keep it away from my dogs while yelling at the guy to come get his dog. When he got a hold of his dog he started hitting and kicking it while it was trying to get away from him. He drug it to his car while calling me names. No wonder the dog is aggressive. Then later my husband and I took our two dogs out for one last potty. Lucky we were still close to the camper when we saw two brown labs running at us. The owner was way behind. They made it to our camper. I was able to get our two in the camper while my husband kept them back. Their owner called them when he got to his car (a dark blue hatchback I think. It was dark) . We've never had issues like this before but there is no one monitoring. People need to be aware of their surroundings and watch out for dogs running loose. Both of these examples were not people camping here. They drove in to let their dogs run loose.
