I am extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and follow-up from CC Vision.
I had my annual eye exam in March and was told that my prescription had not changed. Since I did not need new glasses at that time, I chose not to purchase them. Several months later, after misplacing my prescription information, I contacted the office and requested a copy of my results.
Instead of receiving the information, I received a $60 invoice for a "refraction" about a week later. When I called to ask about it, I was told that someone would review the matter and call me back, but no one ever did. I eventually went to the office in person and was told that I had signed a document stating that I would not be purchasing glasses from them and that the only way they would release my prescription was if I paid the additional $60.
I was not asking for free glasses or a new examination. I was simply requesting a copy of the prescription information from an exam for which I had already paid. If there was going to be a separate $60 charge to obtain my prescription, that should have been clearly explained before or during the appointment--not months later, when I requested my own information.
In all my years receiving eye care in the United States, I have never experienced anything like this. The refusal to provide my prescription unless I paid an unexpected additional fee were extremely frustrating. read more
