Stay Far Away! I brought my car to this place after my friend highly recommended it, having gone there for years - but, evidently, not recently. This was a bad experience from start to end. I made an appointment to have my car serviced on a Monday. I dropped the car off over the weekend. I was told to put my key in one of their envelopes and leave it in the drop box. When I arrived there were no envelopes so I had to make a makeshift one out of a piece of paper I had in my car. I provided all contact information and a list of 3 issues to be dealt with on the car.
When I had called to make the appointment, the person who answered the phone told me they would work on it on Monday but it may take until Tuesday to get the car back. No problem. No one contacted me about the car on Monday or Tuesday, so I called the shop in the late afternoon on Tuesday to find out what was going on. The person who answered the phone advised that he thought they had had to order a part (but he didn't know for sure because he hadn't worked on the car himself) and that the car probably would be ready later that day or Wednesday. In my experience, typically car repair services call the customer to advise the problem and the actions/cost to repair before moving forward. Not here.
I heard nothing further on Tuesday - or Wednesday - or Thursday. I finally called on Thursday. The person who answered the phone said, "oh yea, the car was fixed". Yesterday, he thought, but again, he hadn't worked on the car and the person who had had already gone home.
I asked whether I could pay for the service and pick up the car later. He said, sure, but I needed to call back in an hour to talk with the "right" person about doing that. I did as instructed, calling back later, this time reaching another person who told me the "right" person who could help me was not available but that he would have him call me back.
Thursday - no call. Friday - no call. My car had evidently been fixed since Wednesday or even Tuesday afternoon, and no one could bother to make one phone call. I needed my car that weekend, so I had a friend give me ride to the place on Saturday and I picked up the car using my spare key, intending to call back on Monday to pay and make arrangements to get my other key back.
What I found instead was that the main problem for which I had brought the car in, had NOT been fixed. The part they ordered and replaced had nothing to do with that problem, but was for another they had discovered.
I brought the car back again the following Tuesday after multiple assurances that they would stay in contact with me and my car would not be kept for another week with no contact from them. They did contact me later that day to advise that the problem was due to an internal transmission issue and that I should bring the car to the dealer to fix, as there might be a recall or something. It didn't make much sense to me that they could not fix the car, being a car repair service, but OK, I really didn't feel much confidence in them anyway. The good thing was that they did not charge me for the labor for the part they did repair.
As I had to pick up the car after hours, I paid over the phone and was told they would leave the receipt and keys under the front seat. I got a ride to the shop Wednesday morning and, using my spare key, drove the car home. When I arrived home (10 miles away), I discovered the key they left under the seat was for a Buick. My car is a Volkswagen.
Total disaster of an experience from start to finish and I still have to have the car fixed.
Update: It took the VW service department less than an hour to determine the problem was two bad tires. Tires replaced and car runs good as new. 1/2 day at VW and car fixed. 8 days at C C and they couldn't figure out the problem. Wow. read more
