My refrigerator "died" and Jeremy came out the same day that I called to check it out. We were ready to buy a new one, but Jeremy had it fixed in an hour or so. Joe asked several questions before Jeremy arrived and seemed to have it all figured out before he even arrived. He even gave me a worst case price which was very reasonable. This is the second time that I have called them and both times they were extremely responsive, provided all the information and answered all my questions. He gave us follow up advice and couldn't have been more helpful. These people who are giving them bad reviews are just trying to get people not to use them. They should be ashamed of themselves. Had Joe come out to do a repair. First time out he replaced the defrost heater. Everything worked fine for a month Nd same thing happened. He did come back and said it was something else. Called to repair Samsung refrigerator. Said he could do it and walked me through the diagnosis. Said he would need to order the part from Albany, NY and would fix after Christmas. I told him to go ahead. Monday after Christmas no call. Ok it's the holiday. Tuesday and Wednesday NO call's even after I left a message asking for an update. Now Tuesday of the next week and I STILL haven't received a call. The fridge is fixed, though, as I called Samsung service and they were very responsive. So much for buying/hiring local. I had used him several years ago and the service was great. This time he came to evaluate my refrigerator and said he had to order a new ice machine. I paid $200.00 down and was able to reach him to return and install it at which time I paid the balance of $130+ and he said it would take air 24- hours to be fully functional. That was weeks ago and it still doesn't work. Multiple phone calls and reached him once. He said he would be there the upcoming Tuesday-3 days later between 11 and1:00. He never called, never showed up and I have not been able to reach him since. I am out almost $400.00 and no ice machine!!! read more

Joe from CBS had been working with us for the past 3 years out of nowhere I don't know how he became a crook. On this last job he took a total of 577.77 from us. After ordering the parts he came to the house to install them however the refrigerator unit was still not working and my husband do to trusting him gave him the balance money because he promised to reorder the necessary parts and would return a second time. Guess what he never returned and no reply from him when call by phone. I'm out of all this money and still have the refrigerator not working. He works under different company name but be careful of the one he calls CBS repair service. Would never recommend Joe to anyone under any circumstance. These individuals are Pros in Walking Away with people's hard-earned money and just disappearing. read more

LG Refrigerator Repair. Called and he said the compressor on my model was a manufacturing issue. Also said it would cost 600.00 to repair. Joe said LG would not pay him what he charges. NEVER MENTIONED THAT LG PICKS UP THE LABOR UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. Sent him all the info he requested. Said 2-3 days. Took a week. Replaced the compressor and control panel. Paid the 600.00 dollars. Two days later refrigerator still not cooling. Called back. Must be a faulty fan. Ordered a fan. Waited another week. Shows up and replaces the fan. Still doesn't work. Left several messages and texts. No response. A week later finally get thru. Make another appointment. Shows up and now the control panel is faulty. Will order a new compressor and control panel again on a rush. (Now I get the impression he has no idea what's wrong) Two weeks gone buy. No call. Called left messages and sent texts. NO response. I'm out 600.00. Never repaired. Called LG. Had a tech come out in 2 days. NO CHARGE. If you have an LG appliance. Call LG first! We've used CBS twice now and wouldn't use anyone else. This time we noticed that our freezer wasn't working, things weren't frozen and that the refrigerator wasn't cold enough either. When we called, Joe immediately took the time to look up our model number, diagnosed the problem, told us it would take a day or two to get it, gave us an estimate and scheduled an appointment. Not only that but he took the time to tell us what to do to keep things cold while we waited for the appointment. We never had anybody try to help like this. I needed my oven repaired. They took the oven door off and 1. Didn't put it on correctly or 2. Damaged it. My self cleaning mechanism hasn't worked since because the oven can no longer lock. Called the office and got no response. They fixed one thing and broke another. I will never use their services again!!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Came to my house to look at a dryer. Was 3 hours late and showed up around 7:30pm. Apologized and said they were dealing with a no heat emergency. Ok...benefit of the doubt since it's winter and heat is essential. Seemed on the up and up when he was there. Told me what he thought was wrong with the dryer. Said it would cost $210 to fix. Paid half as a deposit and he was supposed to return on 2/10 at 12pm to do the repairs. Well 12pm came and went with no one at my house and no phone call stating he was running behind. I left two messages inquiring as to if he was still coming or not. It's been 3 days and I've had no response to my messages. Basically took my $110 and ran off with it. In the process of dealing with the bank to get my money back. CON artist! Found a more reputable company to address my issues. read more

Called on a Sunday morning because my refrigerator wasn't running. Joe was able to help me troubleshoot and fix the refrigerator myself instead of charging me and coming out to do it. He also gave me an estimate for part replacement if the troubleshooting didn't work. I'll definitely be calling him again if we need a repair! read more

Terrible!!!! had them come out two weeks ago to fix ice maker. Next day water leaking and ice not working. CAlled several times and no one returned calls. Finally they answered made appointment with us and never showed up. STay away they are terrible had to pay more money for another company to come fix it. Lesson learned the hard way. I called CBS Appliance based off the good review posted here, so I feel it is important to write about our experience with Joe and CBS Appliance. I called CBS Appliance and got a voicemail, which was fine as Joe called me back the next day to set up an appointment. That is the last good thing I can say about our experience with CBS Appliance. When Joe came to the house I saw him pull up so I went to the door to greet him. I was struck by the fact he made no attempt to greet or acknowledge me in any way as I held the door open for him. He walked right by me straight to the dishwasher. I was taken back but figured it was good that he was getting right to work. He started by changing a part he guessed was the problem, rather than asking me to explain the problem. Once that simple part swap didn't work, he then told me it was a bad control panel, and that the cost of repairing the dishwasher was going to be too much so we should just buy a new one that of course they would install. The dishwasher we had was less then 2 years old and a new one would cost at least $700 or we could have him replace the control panel for $245 less the cost of the initial service call of $85. So we decided it was better for us to spend an additional $160 rather then $700 for a brand new machine. I called Joe a handful of times over the next two weeks to check on the part delivery and when they could come back out to fix the machine. My calls always went to his voicemail without fail. Once after a phone call i made where again I got his voicemail, he texted me back a minute after the phone call saying the part was due in at the end of the week and that he would call to schedule when it came in. 2 weeks after that message and now 4 weeks after the initial visit, I still heard nothing back from Joe and CBS Appliance. I finally called Sears home appliance repair as Joe was actively avoiding my calls and any form of communication. Within one week after my initial call to Sears they have been able to come out diagnose the issue and fix our machine. I'll also add that it was not the control panel at all, a fact the Sears repair guy figured out because he used a digital multi-meter to check if the control panel was sending a signal to the motor which it was, you know something a professional would do rather then guessing what is wrong. I have never had an experience like this with any type of service, and I have never felt the need to write a negative review. However since my initial reason for calling CBS was based on the one positive review, I felt compelled to let people know about our experience. read more

I wish you could give zero stars because I would. Joe and CBS Appliance are nothing more than con artists. Refrigerator was running warm and ice and water dispenser was not working, called CBS, Joe came to our house, charged $90 and said he needed to order a part, and in the meantime leave refrigerator off with doors open. He came back, installed the part and charged an additional $184. Within hours it was obvious the part he installed wasn't the solution and now the refrigerator was running so called that it froze everything inside, much of which we've had to throw away. Joe came back, said he would install a thermostat at no charge and had to order yet another part. Two months later we have not heard a word from Joe and our calls and texts have gone unanswered. I'm not sure CBS has a clue, they seem to order part after part in the hopes something works and in the meantime charge you money, and if the fix doesn't work you never here from them again. Absolutely horrible and unprofessional company. Would strongly recommend against hiring CBS Appliance. I have reported to the BBB as well. read more

I left a message for Joe when my washer broke. He called me back right away. He immediately was able to diagnose the problem and walked me through the repair process. He even told me where I could get the part I needed and that I could view a tutorial on YouTube. He offered to come out and fix it for a reasonable price if I ran into any trouble. CBS Appliance Repair is probably the worst service provider I've ever come across, stay away. They misdiagnosed a problem with a refrigerator back in December and immediately replaced the circuit board and sensors for ~$300. Didn't even come close to fixing the problem. When called back, they made a second diagnosis and ordered more parts. Then the BS started - they wouldn't show up when they said they would 3 times without any call or warning and I had to keep calling to reschedule. I had to chase and chase them with no return calls or anything, so finally I called a different, way more professional repair company and they fixed it right away with the professionalism and business courtesy that you'd expect. To make matters worse, the new company told me that CBS had forgotten to reconnect one of the fans to the circuit board when they installed the new, unneeded one. For over 2 months now I'm chasing Joe to settle up or split the cost on the $300 circuit board that I paid for but obviously didn't need, and got just more of the same run around and non-action or return calls. I gave him a chance to make it right and finally gave up. Save your money and frustration, don't call this outfit, I don't know how they remain in business. read more
