The selection of stones, minerals, and jewelry is stunning, especially the large amethyst geodes and softly lit pieces that create a truly calming atmosphere. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the staff. The lady who assisted us was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We felt very comfortable and at ease there. We left with several beautiful items - jewelry, stones, decorative pieces, and other unique finds that will always remind us of this special visit. What I wish they'd improve on is their customer service which has been lacking for years. I mean, it really feels like the employees here are miserable and don't want to be there. I bought a hoodie at Marie Laveau's this week and the lady rolled her eyes at me and gave me attitude from the get go. I had asked for the hoodie by number (their apparel is numbered) and she tells me with feistiness 'we only have one'. They actually have two. A black one and a tie dye one but I didn't want to spare with her. Apparently they didn't have my size up front and she says 'i don't have your size here. There may be some upstairs' and she pauses, hoping for me to say 'oh, it's okay, Don't worry about it'. She clearly did not want to sell me anything. I told her I'd like the hoodie if she could please check for me. That is when she rolled her eyes at me and said she'd be back. The hoodie is not cheap. $60, which I gladly paid. The previous day I had purchased several books and figures from Reverend Zombies and same crappy service. Do they want business or not? Sometimes I wonder. Again, to reiterate, their merchandise is awesome. If you're into horror, voodoo and the occult this is your shop. Just don't expect a smile from their employees or appreciation for your business.
