Someone ran a red light and T-boned my car and I couldn't drive it so a tow truck service was necessary. First of all, after being called and given an estimated pick up time of "within 3 hours", I was sent a link to follow the progress of the towing truck. The link never worked. Then, after 3 hours, I called multiple times, each time I was told that the car will arrive within 30mins, after a total of 5 hrs and 40min, the car finally arrived, and my car was towed. I was told by the driver that the car will go to their yard overnight since the repair shop was already closed. I was specifically told that they'll take care of everything from there on. Then 3 days later, I haven't heard anything from my repair shop, and I called them, asked when I can expect my repair estimate, and they told me that they haven't received the car yet! I called my insurance company immediately and they told me that Liberty Towing had tried to reach me and couldn't get hold of me. In fact, I've received countless spam calls all of which I picked up, never form Liberty Towing. Also, never got a voicemail message or text message about it, and they never informed my car insurance company about it either. That's how much they care. Only after I had to call my insurance did they actually deliver my car to the repair shop. Everything they did was worse than the expectations they set, and my expectations were already super super low. Overall, horrendous experience. Will be getting AAA from now on, can't believe I would think Geico made a good choice and chose Liberty Towing. Even accounting for living in LA, this service quality seems abysmal.

He brought his rig to my car, removed the tire, took the rim to a machine shop to bend it back in shape and replaced the tire, all in the span of about 90 minutes. The pricing was fair and reasonable and smooth to transact the payment. He was helpful, courteous and super hard working. He sent me pictures of the tire and wheel throughout so I knew what was going on. I couldn't be happier with him getting me out of a tough situation and getting me back in the road. I thought I had run out of gas because the needle was under ¼ of a tank, and I thought the gauge might be off a bit. Luckily I managed to make it as far as the gas station on the Corner of Paramount Bl. and Stewart and Gray Rd. in Downey. I pumped a few dollars' worth of gas to see if that was the problem, but no luck. I had to push my car from the pump to a parking area maybe 10 yards away next to the auto repair shop. I was calling around to be rescued when Jermal from VRF Auto Service drove up to open the shop. He walked up to my car, and I became defensive right away. I have always been very suspicious of gas station auto shops because I had heard that they always over-charge. All I wanted from him was a reassurance that he would not tow my car while I went to work for the day. Jermal offered to take a look under the hood. After attaching a device to my battery then to the alternator, he determined that the alternator was the problem. He quoted me a very reasonable price - which was exactly what he charged me when the job was done. He said the car would be ready in 5 hours, but he was done in only 2 hours. I work relatively close by, so he drove my car to my office when he was done fixing it. Jermal pointed out a few other minor fixes that he thought I should take a look at, but he was not pushy. He said I could buy the parts myself and install them at home. Most mechanics would have you believe that your car will blow up if you don't put hundreds of $$$ into it immediately. I was extremely satisfied AND RELIEVED that the job was done quickly and at a very reasonable price. I was low on cash having just bought the car and paid my rent. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VRF AUTO SERVICE!! Jermal and the other guy at the shop (I didn't catch his name) were very friendly. If you're not too mechanically-inclined like myself, you should take your car to VRF Auto Service.

Siam towing was the 2nd call I made as the first place I called wanted to charge way too much ($375--hell no). Victor gave me a very good price, probably the best in town! Yesterday was so hot and there was a lot of traffic, mind you, 50 miles from The Valley to Orange County in traffic takes about 2 hours, so considering all the trouble, $220 was a great deal! Although it was a very hot day and traffic sucked, Victor was in good spirits and very friendly, smiled a lot and never seemed to regret providing the service at such a competitive price. OK - let me just get this out in the open right now…read more For reasons that I will share in just a moment, this biz gets five stars. But the honest truth is, there's also a selfish reason for this review: In the event I need to use Acasta Towing again in the future and I (a) can't remember the name and (b) have my handy smartphone with me, I can access their info via Yelp Mobile, which has saved me more times than I care to admit! Over the years, we've had a few cars that were more than a few decades old, and we've had to call for many a tow service. It got so frequent that at one point it seemed every AAA dispatcher knew us on a first name basis based on the description of the car (Oh - you're the one with the 86 Ford Bronco? Pasadena, right?) Usually the only time I get excited about seeing a tow truck is when the kid is stuck on a freeway somewhere and they are able to get to him - and get him to safety - without incident. Believe me - this has happened more times than I care to remember. Like that one time when the Bronco blew a freeze plug - TWO WEEKS AFTER WE BOUGHT IT - and CHP had to run a traffic break on the 210 in La Canada...but that's another story...a very long, very sad and very costly story. But anyway... Most of the time the tow truck drivers we end up with tell us what a piece o' crap our American made "classics" are. And most of the time I want to scream, "I KNOW it's a piece o' crap - that's why I'm having it towed in the first place!" But not this time. And that's why I'm Yelping this biz. I was referred to Acasta Towing by a trusted area mechanic (is that an oxymoron?) on one of the many occasions my son's latest old junker, er, I mean, classic car broke down. The young man who owns the business showed up with his flat bed tow truck exactly when he said he would. He was polite, helpful and appropriately empathetic to my plight.
