After going through dozens of photographer profiles on Yelp and feeling thoroughly overwhelmed, I stumbled upon the reviews for Khushboo at Shutter Magic. Almost EVERY review mentioned how Khushboo made people feel comfortable and relaxed before and during their photoshoots. That was all I needed to hear. I was sold! And what an incredible experience it has been, right from Day 1! First, Khushboo has the dreamiest collection of maternity outfits. She encouraged me to try styles I would never have picked for myself, and patiently let me try on different options until I found the ones I loved. She also connected me with makeup and nail artists and even helped my partner choose his outfit. She genuinely took so much of the planning off my plate! Then came the location. I had a very specific kind of setting in mind, and Khushboo went above and beyond to find it. Not only did she scout locations that matched what I was looking for, she also visited new spots and managed to find places with beautiful flowers. In the FALL. In the BAY AREA!! I still don't know how she pulled that off! A couple of hours before the shoot, she was already checking in on me, reminding me to rest and hydrate, cheering me on as I got my makeup done, and generally getting me excited for something I had initially been quite nervous about. And during the photoshoot itself? She was everything those Yelp reviews had promised and more. She made both my partner and me feel completely at ease, never rushed us, and somehow managed to capture us exactly as we are. The resulting photographs were more magical than anything we could have imagined! I went into this experience wanting a few nice maternity pictures with minimal fuss. I walked away with beautiful memories, photographs I'll treasure forever, and a newfound appreciation for what a wonderful photographer can bring to the experience. Street parking was easy on a Sunday and there was no fee to park. The studio is neat and clean and the studio employee was super nice. We got 2 prints of our photos that came with the package and then he sent us the zip file and then air dropped the photos. I would come back here again. We just got the photos and the quality is really good. Excellent lighting. This is a great alternative for the camera shy people and people who don't necessarily want to hire a photographer (it's worth it but can be extremely expensive). If I go again to take some photos by myself I'm going to do the 30 minutes! We felt the 40 minutes of actual photo taking and 20 minutes to select was ample time. Highly recommend this experience!

Initially I planned to take on the job myself, but I have two young kids and a lot of relatives I haven't seen in several years that I knew would keep me busy. I reached out to a lot of photographers with good reviews on Yelp. I ranked the photographers I contacted and hoped someone from the top of my list would be available and would not be too pricey. There was a fairly wide range of prices as well as different levels of experience. I really liked what I saw on Harry's website, and he was at the top of my list. So I was incredibly excited when Harry said he was available for the exact date and time I needed. Harry is experienced, and he's a good communicator. The agreement was clear, and everything went as smoothly as it could have been. Harry captured so many special moments throughout the 4.5 hour party. Even though I said there was no rush, our family was grateful to have an online link available to download the photos in less than 5 days after the event. We were grateful Harry provided tips on lighting and space to get good shots of multiple families and a big group photo. The photos were beautiful and captured so many memorable moments that evening including my Grandma dancing the night away. We will always treasure these photos from my Grandma's 100th Birthday celebration. Overall I highly recommend working with Harry. When I plan another trip to San Francisco, I will definitely contact him and set up an outdoor family photo session. Harry is dedicated, experienced, and professional, and we are all so pleased with the wonderful photos. We first booked her for Christmas photos and then again for maternity pictures and most recently for newborn pictures. Safety: As a mother, I have taken extra precautions during this pandemic so I was skeptical at first to book a photographer- but Yesenia has always ensured we feel safe as she creates a safe environment. She has kept her mask on for every shoot we have had with her, she disinfects all the items before use. Even now that she is fully vaccinated she keeps her mask on and constantly cleans her hands. Christmas Shoot: I first booked her when she was offering a Christmas mini in 2019. My husband, son, and our dog Moo showed up to the session at a park in the city. Yesenia was invited and warm as she helped us pose alongside the props she had. Also noted was that she was wearing a mask and disinfected the items we used as props in front of us before the shoot. I loved the pictures she took of us for Christmas that for the first time in a long time, I sent out Christmas cards! Before the shoot, Yesenia called me to discuss the color scheme, pictures I wanted to recreate, family portrait options, and the details of what I needed to take to the shoot that day. After our call, she sent me a detailed list of what to expect during the shoot and how I could prepare. When we arrived at the studio she made us feel comfortable as we took family pictures and then more intimate pregnancy pictures. My pictures came out so good everyone was in awe at how beautifully Yesenia captured that moment. Newborn Shoot: So of course I reached out to her again when my son was born. And as always she was great. She had everything in the studio prepared for our pictures. Yesenia even takes extra steps to ensure the newborn is comfortable the entire shoot. He'll tell you exactly how to tilt your head so everything is centered. My mouth usually tilts to the right if I'm not paying attention, and he helped me adjust. In order to meet the minimum, we decided to add my mom and MIL into the schedule but this ended up changing our whole timeline for the morning at the last minute and, I had to wake up way earlier than I planned since she said it would take too long to set up at the Airbnb they were at, but OK. I did a trial with her a week before my wedding and the teasing really damaged my hair, I could barely brush it. My hair looked great during the first look, but it really didn't hold, and even by the ceremony it was falling out. Similarly, my MIL also had curls done and I noticed it didn't hold up either. Lastly, she overslept my trial (which she was very apologetic for). She offered a small discount, but I didn't really feel like it compensated for me taking the day off, spending a whole day driving to San Jose, waiting an hour, driving back, and then rescheduling. She was about 15 minutes late arriving to our venue, but it didn't end up setting our schedule back.
