Stephanie always makes sure that our group, no matter how big or small is well taken care of no matter how busy they are upstairs. weather it's herself and her son serving us or " captain" Chrissy, we always know that we are in good hands. and boy do all those hands work hard! you can certainly tell that all the employees work their tails off to ensure great service, delicious food, and a wonderful dining experience for each of their guests, upstairs and down. and they do it all with a smile on their face, taking the time to add a personal touch and connect with their customers and get a good laugh in. of course when places are busy mistakes are made, but they're always small. accidentally getting potatoes instead of fries or something. but they fix it quick and in a hurry without hesitation. and I've never had any big issue there. their daily soup specials are delicious!! and the bread coins with spinach and artichoke dip are my go to appetizers. chicken riggies are my fav main course minus the spice haha. read more

While I've known about the Blue Moon for a while, I haven't had an opportunity to try it until very recently. On a lark, with some time to kill, a friend and I wandered in and we're pretty happy with what we found. Billing itself as a "hidden gem" the Blue Moon Grill is without a doubt one of the best places for date night in the Fulton area, with tasty food and drink as well. The French onion soup is one of the best around, as are the "Moon Rings" which are their take on classic beer battered onion rings. I had a sirloin, while my partner had chicken and shrimp piccata, and we were both delighted by the presentation and taste. We've decided that we will be back to try some of the other dishes soon. read more

Went with a large group (9) mid week day.The place was empty so service should not have been a problem.Greeted by Karen (mgr) not the warm and fuzzy type by any means.Food was good service stunk and attitudes even worse.If I owned this place my staff would get a serious call out on customer relations.Will not be going back. read more

Saturday was a beautiful day for a drive so my husband and I opted to go to the Blue Moon Tavern in Fulton for dinner. We drove from Sodus Point. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly lady who promptly sat us in a booth. The food was great. I ordered chicken parmesan and he ordered a steak. He asked for medium and it came out medium rare but was still very tasty. For my salad dressing I had pepper parmesan which is favorite and hard to come by. Bonus! Unfortunately, our waitress must have been having a bad day. The service was subpar. Dinner was a lengthy process (over an hour) but overall the place was very nice and the food was good. Fulton is a cute little town. We will be back to the area. read more

Blue Moon has never disappointed. The chef arrived here from another local eatery and brought many of his signature dishes with him, and we're grateful for that! The escargot here is the best I've had anywhere, my only complaint is that it doesn't appear on the menu nearly often enough (it's a rare special). I'm not a beef eater, but the seafood and chicken dishes are unique and delicious (my steak-eating friends have always enjoyed their fare). In the month leading up to Mardis Gras, there's a special Cajun-style menu that's well worth waiting for (the locals know this, and getting in on a Friday night without reservations is a tough battle as a result). Fulton is not an area exactly known for its fine dining, so it's an excellent thing to have such a fine eatery available. As a follow-up - the escargot is now on the menu full time. I recall getting other appetizers here in the past, but those have all faded into memory. You will not find a finer presentation of escargot - cooked perfectly and served in a garlic-rich, creamy sauce - anywhere. read more

We wanted to go to Fulton for a family dinner because it's between Oswego and Cicero. Blue Moon was recommended. We were not disappointed! A charming little place on a side street with amazing food! We split a Margarita pizza as an appetizer, then had Gorgonzola Steak, NY Strip, and Broiled Seafood platter. All really good! Our server was so nice, very attentive. Was busy when we went and the small size of the restaurant gave it a very welcoming family feel. The owner greeting guests added to that. Artichoke dip was the best we have had anywhere. Downside- coming from someone who enjoys a flavorful rare steak, extremely surprised and disappointed to find " we don't believe in seasoning". I don't like dipping steak in sauce and I believe giving your steak more than a charred flavor is one of the reasons you go and buy a $25 steak rather than make it yourself. To our waitress- you have as much business putting your hands on and moving a $300 phone on the table as you do picking up and moving a baby. Don't assume it's ok. read more

Each time I dine here I feel like I am on an airplane. Think about it. You walk down these odd stairs into a pit like dining area and then there are booths along the sides of this large space and then walking area in the center where the servers pass by. I was a bit disappointed by my entree, as it wasn't terribly flavorful, but that's partially my fault as I ordered it without chicken (they didn't have many, if any, meatless entrees). I went here twice with my sister and her family, in August and Sept 2011. There were 3 adults, a 12 yr old and an 8 yr old. Over the course of two visits we ordered almost everything off the menu. Nothing disappointed. Everything was prepared exactly to order, food was delicious, service was extremely quick and friendly and the price cannot be beat for the quality of food. Some highlights: Well mixed specialty drinks at reasonable prices -tasty appetizers, some were the regular done exceedingly well (superb onion rings and one of the best French onion soups I've ever had) and some were specials done even better (grilled Cajun shrimp) -perfectly cooked steaks (we tried the NY strip, top sirloin, and Delmonico), tender veal (the Veal William is very tasty), and the Tuscan Chicken was so delish my sister ordered it both times! -the burger my nephew ordered off the kids menu was actually a huge ground steakburger... so big he actually complained (silly boy ;) -we added lobster tails to our meals to create our own surf-n-turfs and they were steamed to perfection, and I think bigger than the 6oz listed on the menu. Other seafood we tried was shrimp cocktail and bacon wrapped scallops, both were excellent also. -desserts were yummy too (we had to take some home cuz we were stuffed) we tried the chocolate volcano cake: very chocolaty and the kids loved the gooey fudgy center, PB pie: choco and PB and creamy, and the caramel cheesecake: divine yumminess... needed 5 spoons for that one! -little things that added up to a great meal: marinara dipping sauce was superb, rolls were warm, salads were good, side veggies were fresh and perfectly steamed, servers were spot on... we never had to flag one down for anything. NOTE TO PREVIOUS REVIEWERS: To the Vegetarian: Please don't go to a restaurant called a "grill", that does NOT advertise itself as a vegetarian place and then take off a star because it doesn't offer enough meatless options. My girlfriend, who is allergic to shellfish, doesn't go around giving bad reviews to seafood restaurants because she has trouble finding suitable entrees there, that would be unfair. Try asking the server next time to ask if the chef could prepare something special for you. We asked our server about changes and substitutions and she said the chef accommodates people all the time AS LONG AS THEY SPEAK UP AND ASK! To the Obnoxious Cellphone Guy: First of all you, have terrible table manners if you are at a restaurant for dinner and your cellphone is not put away in your pocket or on the seat. Second, maybe the server was saving your phone from getting a hot plate set on top of it or it was at risk of getting something spilled on it... in either case it was prudent of her to move it,,, since it (or a baby) didn't belong on the table in the first place! Regarding the steak "seasoning". The reason people eat (and pay more for) steaks at restaurants is because the restaurants have access to higher quality cuts of meat than are available at retail. They are then usually aged for weeks to months and cooked on equipment that can reach much higher temps than you or I can at home. A high quality steak should never be seasoned with anything other than salt and pepper. The taste of the meat should stand on its own. If you need steak sauce or "seasoning" to make your steak taste good (like a certain other restaurant) than there is something wrong with the quality of your steak. The Blue Moon grill did not have that problem with any of the 3 cuts of steak that they served on the two visits that I made. I dare you to go to Peter Luger's or the real Delmonico's in NY and ask for a "seasoned" steak... they'd throw you off the Brooklyn Bridge! read more

blue moon is always my first choice to go when I want to eat a great meal with a great atmosphere. Despite how I feel about that "city" of Fulton, Blue Moon is a diamond in the rough. Everyone I recommend this restaurant to is stunned when I inform them it is in Fulton, NY. I do hope everyone gives it a try as I have never been let down. Owner answered the phone and oversaw the entire place while we wee there. Just the right amount- not obnoxious "This is MY place". She was awesome. Servers were spot on. Professionals. The food here is pretty good. It's a bit on the pricier side but the menu has all price point options. It's nice that most of the dinner options do come with a side and a soup or salad. We had the apple bacon scallops as an appetizer and it was delicious! They are the smaller bay scallops but you get a skewer of them. For dinner I had the ahi tuna which was OK. It didn't knock my socks off but that had more to do with my personal tastes than any fault of theirs. It's not something I eat that often and I probably won't again. It was cooked perfectly and my husband said it was amazing. He had the steak sandwich and raved about it. Our waitress was a bit brisk but very efficient. I did feel a bit rushed and "pushed" through, but I believe that was just due to it being slow. All in all, we will be back but I'll be sure to check out the menu ahead of time so I don't feel bulldozed into ordering too quickly. read more
