I was there on a Saturday lunch and I was surprised there were not many people in. Its inside an older hotel, so maybe people dont realize its there. But, its definetly worth it.

Many of the diners left with takeout containers. Not me! I was up to the challenge. Desserts abound so make sure you come hungry.

If I would criticize anything, it's that the dining room feels worn. Years ago, this place was a fine dining establishment before it shifted into a tavern concept. It's like the interior hasn't been updated since then, so it feels like a worn fine dining room. But I'm reluctant to mark it down for that. It's clean and it's advertised as a tavern. That's good enough for me.

The food at Blue Moon is well made. The Chef owner has been at it for many years and knows what he's doing. I eat all over Oswego county, Onondoga county and know my food and between Oswego, Fulton and other small towns in this area Blue Moon is right up there with a few other top notch eateries around here. actually probably better than Vonas and Canales in Oswego because those places tend to cater to big eaters and people who wear baseball hats while eating. The chef will offer new and interesting creations each week which separates itself from those staple restaurants in the area I just mentioned. I'm all for the same menu items year after year if I want nostalgia and those Oswego restaurants offer that, but its like going back in time. The fact is Oswego county offers little in the way of "fine" dining and this is as close as your going to get. read more
