Blue enjoying the beach

Nice beach. Dog-friendly. Not a super long beach, so it's a shorter walk compared to others nearby. The playground was busy. Great for families!

"The only thing that can be hated from the beach is 'time to go home'." ― nom de plume Kinda feel bad giving a nature spot such a low rating, but honestly I've seen/been to much better beaches. Let's get to the goods: Pros: -It's a beach! -Water is not very cold and the waves don't seem very dangerous -Lifeguards on duty -There's a fishing pier on it and plenty of shops and restaurants surrounding it. -Restrooms w/ Showers outside for rinsing -Picnic tables nearby and playground equipment(?!) Cons: -Got crowded pretty quick -Fuck-tons of those annoying sea flies or whatever the hell they are. -Sand was littered with lots of remnants of ashes of illegal fires Yeah the Pros outweigh the Cons, but trust me those friggin' flies are annoying as shit. Overall, it's still a beach and one really can't argue with that―but there are much nicer beaches not too far away. Def a one-and-done for us.

Going to Cayucos State Beach is quite enjoyable. It does get crowded at times, but the last time we were there it was terrific. Two weeks ago, the weather was cold and windy. It was perfect for me! Found good parking. There are not many parking spots available so good luck during the summer. I enjoy walking at this beach especially when it is not crowded Pretty views of the ocean (you can even see Morro Rock from here). Don't underestimate the waves! Yes, there are prettier beaches along the Central Coast. Still, Cayucos State Beach is a terrific spot to getaway and chillax.

Very nice beach. I am glad that this was open yesterday when trying to escape the hellish San Jose 110 degrees! Even for a day trip this beach was worthy. It was pretty filled as expected for a Labor day weekend but I saw everyone keeping social distance and all very clean, including parking lot and bathrooms. It has a pretty pier to watch the sunset from and also that view to Morro Bay is amazing. Great experience in this cute little town.

Cayucos Pier has free public parking just south of the pier as well as on nearby streets. The best…read moretime to visit the pier is spring and fall as there is less marine layer (fog) that comes ashore from the ocean -- although it's beautiful anytime of the year. The waves are generally small, which are good for beginning-intermediate surfers. Stand-up paddle boarders and kite surfers also enjoy this coastal playground area. The water temperature tends to be cool. The Cayucos Pier is a great place to see gray whales migrate along the California coast from Alaska to Baja California. The best time to see them is March and April. Being elevated on the pier helps in viewing the whales. One can also see other marine life such as elephant seals and sea lions, and on the north side of the pier are tide pools waiting to be discovered during low tide. Fishing from the pier without a fishing license is permitted. A large variety of fish and shellfish can be caught off various areas of the pier. At the foot of the pier, there is a beachside children's playground. Around the corner, there is a small skate park for skateboarding. Cayucos Pier includes amenities like outdoor showers, bathrooms, and within a short walk, eateries, and shops.
