This store has the largest selection of boots, hats, and men's clothing that I've ever seen. I haven't seen this store where we live, so we had to stop by here when we spotted it in Tyler. We found the cutest shirts. They also had a fun selection of accessories and gift items. I thought the prices seemed better here than those at Boot Barn, and I thought the service was great too. The salesperson was wonderful when we asked questions about sizes and styles. She even helped us pick out a nice belt buckle (free with purchase). I thought she was friendly and patient. For a great selection of clothing and accessories, I'll definitely stop by here when I'm in Tyler. read more

After purchasing the wrong size jeans for Xmas, I went to the store to exchange them for a larger size. I had my receipt (which they did not honor) and made me pay a higher cost for the exchange. The store claimed that it didn't matter that I had a receipt and at the time of purchase they were on sale. I will never shop at Cavender's again. Sooo as me and my husband come to shop for some clothes at the new Cavender's in Tyler tx, I was pretty disappointed. So we come in and 1. I wasn't greeted like every one else was. (Gave them the benefit of the doubt) 2. We come to check out and the lady up front didn't even say a word to us, she kept talking to her co-workers or new customers that kept coming in,, she proceeds to get my jeans and check them out and still no word from her I was hoping for her to give me the total after putting my clothes in the bag. I waited for her to give me the total but she was still again kept talking to her co-works at this point I'M UPSET! I guess she was waiting for me to look at the screen to see how much my total was but I was waiting for her to give it to me, anyways I ask how much it was but, because she was talking she didn't hear what I had said to her. And her co-worker said "hey she asked you a question " at least she was paying more attention to what was going on. She tells me my total and it was $51.something but because she said it in a soft tone I didn't hear her and so I just looked at the screen and gave her $52 even yet again still talking. So I just place the money on the counter and at this point I'm like ready to walk out,, I feel like as a customer I wasn't acknowledge at all! Cavender's do better!!! read more

When I told my friends that I was visiting at the UT that I wanted some authentic cowgirl boots, they both shot back at the same time "Cavender's!" I bought the cutest boots I've ever seen that are super comfy too, the staff was very helpful, the selection was good, and they had a lot of fun little gift things to take back with me. A little pricey I guess, but I think it's worth it. read more

Seeing how my old pair of boots had long since worn out and I was visiting family in the area anyway, I stopped by here the other night to look around and was pleased with what I found. They offered a nice selection of boots ranging from the super cheap to a pair that was $1,400 and everything in between. The guys working there was really helpful (think Nordstrom's workers, just in jeans and cowboy hats) and in no time flat I was out of there with a new pair of boots. Would have picked up a Cross Canadian Ragweed shirt too while I was there but sadly they were out of my size. All in all, not a bad place to shop if you need any kind of western wear. read more

This place is the best, and the employees are awesome! On our last trip home we both needed new boots, and the boy needed a new hat. We looked for him first, and found exactly what he wanted with the help of an awesome employee...I wish I could remember his name!! Next we went to look at boots for me, and I fell in love with a certain pair (I do not like showy boots, no pink, no butterflies, or crosses with wings....just basic boots). They didn't have my size in stock. Ack! They told me they could get them in 4 or 5 days, but we were leaving in 3. I said I could have my mother in law come back and pick them up, then ship them out to me in CA, but I was worried that the fit wouldn't be right. They had me try on the next size up, and the next size down, and then also had me try on the correct size in the most comparable boot. I was confident that I'd like the fit just as much as I liked the look and said I'd like them to order them. When I told them my mother in law would be back to get them, they just got on the phone, called their web ordering dept, and arranged for me to pay in store, and have them shipped right to CA. I love the boots, shoes, clothes, purses, Ect. But I feel very uncomfortable when shopping there. Employees walk around watching you and starring at you, making sure you don't steal anything, and it's annoying and disrespectful, and the girls there give you dirty looks like they're better than you! read more

I was in Tyler on 6/1/17 visiting my Sister, and Nieces when on a shopping trip decided to stop at Cavender's to look for a western belt among other items in the store. We were met by Robert Weesner who invited us to look around, and let him know if we needed any help. What a nice experience, no pressure just enjoy the store. Robert was very helpful with his knowledge of the custom leather belts they offered, and helped me with my decision. The belt had to be special ordered. I received as described the belt at my home in Illinois. The entire staff was very professional, and made my trip even more enjoyable. 5 stars are not enough to show the expertise of this store. Wonderful! Nelson helped us while we were shopping and I loved being assisted by a "real" cowboy! He was so nice and patient with me as I took forever to make up my mind over what boots I was going to get. I ended up very happy with my choice. Cavender's is a chain of Western clothing stores based out of Tyler. Now I'm not into Cowyboy-wear, but Cavender's is the place to come if you need boots. The staff is knowledgeable about their products, and they take the time to make sure your boots fit. Sure, you can save a few bucks going elsewhere, but you don't get the service. read more

Do not go by the hours posted on the door. The lazy staff will open or close when they want and help you in the time they want. I understand a relaxed way of life, I also understand business. Apparently more than the employees. Irregardless of the overpriced products and selection in the store. I will no longer be shopping at cavender's. The only reason I rated it a 2 is because of their good selection of cute clothes and boots, otherwise it wouldn't have recieved any stars. The service at the Tyler location is TERRIBLE. There are 3 or 4 helpful people in there but for the most part it's a bunch of young people talking and being extremely lazy and rude. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more
