They have some tasty protein options. I tried the lamb balls and spicy chicken when was pretty good. Also tried a bit of a friends falafel and it was not dry! Honestly, I felt all the flavors were pretty good. I didn't even need to add on extra sauce. I paid about $20 for a bowl. I got an avocado add on and an extra scoop of veggies. Cava is life. Well not life but one of the things that makes life worth living. I always make my own bowls. My favorite proteins are the Spicy harissa chicken or braised lamb. I go dumb with toppings and add a tad of every sauce. The fried pita chips are addicting and I usually finish those on the car ride home. I hate almost every location near me tho. Always packed and finding parking is hell but I get it. Eating cava weekly is a lifestyle most won't get. read more

They don't help you either especially with this being your first time you both will stand there looking clueless. The options are on a SMALL sticker on the window. No suggestions given. You don't even know the spice level of anything unless you ask and the server ACTUALLY KNOWS AT THAT TIME. The drinks were WATERED DOWN. No flavor no taste. Even the soda had no carbonation. Better deal than Fresh Kitchen! Even if you don't love Mediterranean flavors there's something for everyone at Cava. I don't think any of the bowl they offer sound good, but I liked picking out my own ingredients. Basic bowl concept, pick a base (greens or grains) with protein and veggies but they have way more options here and you can add a lot more to your bowl for free vs fresh kitchen where you just get a set number of items. Ambiance - its fairly clean and modern looking, quite spacious but I did see a little sauce on some tables. I've been to CAVA in St. Petersburg, FL twice now, & I'm officially a fan! First time I stumbled upon it because I was heading next door to Bolay, but Bolay is closed on Sundays. Lucky me. I heard about CAVA newly opening, but never tried it. This place has a Mediterranean flair to it in terms of flavors. It was the Zoe's, but this time it's like a Bowl and Pita style. You pick your toppings or you choose from a some of their options. There are a lot of options here. First, do you want a bowl or a pita? Then, pick your base. You can pick from different types of rice, lentils, greens. Then pick your dips to go with it. I like the eggplant and red roasted hummus. Some of them are spicy some are not. Pick your proteins. I've tried their chicken, beef meatballs, and falafel. Pick your toppings. They have lots of different ones too. And lastly a sauce you may want on top. I often ask for them on the side just in case. My fave is the balsamic date vinaigrette. I've tried their crazy feta and their garlic sauce. Service is nice to explain the toppings when you ask. They have signs which are a bit too wordy. The signs to identify the toppings would be more helpful if they were right next to the actual topping. They have different types of juices and different types of cookies. They also have a loyalty program as well through their app. The ambiance is minimalist. It would be nice to have more decor. They do have nice shaded outside seating and the inside tables are spacious. I will definitely be back. Their bowls can't be beat for just over $10 for all of the options and all of the flavor. Great in person. Don't recommend any food delivery service delivery though. I'm vegan so it can be hard to get food out sometimes but never have I ever had as big a screw up as with CAVA and on multiple instances at this specific store. Also instead of cancelling your order when out of a significant amount of ingredients they just leave it off and send you the bowl anyway. However, all of this can be avoided by picking up your food in person and watching them as they make it to make sure they get the minute details. If you don't care about that and willing to leave it to chance then go for it but I got a steak bowl when I definitely ordered the falafel on one delivery instance and full ingredients left off another time. Instead of ordering one of the menu bowls, I decided to create my own. The customers in line that frequent this place basically said that's everything blends together so you can't go wrong! I arrived and instantly noticed the shortage of parking with it being busy. The ordering process is pretty organized and clear which is nice. The space is clean, the service is great and speedy. For food I decided to order the lamb pita to go, which I was really excited about, although I'll admit it did seem pricey but then again everything's expensive these days! Got sever food poisoning last time I ate here!!! Back story ; The food at both St Pete and Tampa locations has disappointed me every single time I had it, the only reason I continued to give them chances is bc of a previous good experience the NYC area. Not to mention in St Pete/tampa locations the ambiance and service is absolutely atrocious considering how the staff speaks to you and how filthy both places look. I can confidently say this was and will be my absolute last time eating at CAVA I got a plate and so did my partner and his son. The only thing we all had in common in what we ordered was the rice and I know cooked rice could quickly grow bacteria and cause food poisoning /upset stomach in as soon as 24 hours of being prepared regardless of how it's stored (basic health code rule anyone in the industry should be away more of) mind you the time we ordered was only one hour after they had opened so clearly they are reusing rice from the previous days. Where is the Florida health department??? We all ended up throwing up multiple times but I specifically could not stop throwing up for almost 30 hours straight including any water I drank and had to seek urgent medical care from the emergency room at around 4am after nearly 3 days of eating my bowl. It's been nearly 5 days and I'm still struggling with symptoms. I ordered a falafel salad- it's meh at best. The falafels are small, crispy though, and smooth in the middle. Saffron Basmati Rice, Romaine, Spicy Falafel, Tzatziki, Traditional Hummus, Fiery Broccoli, Fire Roasted Corn, Tomato + Cucumber, Pickled Onions, Skhug, Garlic Dressing. It sounds like a lot, according to the menu description but it's all romaine lettuce with a sprinkling of the other items. My son had the chicken and rice salad bowl. Similar to mine in which heavy on the romaine and light on all other items. Both are tasty just not balanced with ingredients.
