This review is based on three visits within a week. The location is convenient and has ample parking. The line is typically short, and the service is the usual, nothing special. Out of the three visits in one week, the first trip was perfect. On the second visit, the rice was so hard it nearly cracked my dental crown, and I had to go back and have them remake my bowl. The third time, I ordered the same thing as the first two visits, and the guy tried to charge me extra for half super greens and splitting the rice between white and brown. I had to explain that I had ordered the same thing twice that week without being charged extra and that I was not asking for three half portions. Today I decided to have a late lunch at CAVA Grill in College Park, and I was really satisfied with the quick service, quality of the food and cleanliness inside of the casual restaurant. I had a super green bowl with rice and braised lamb. I added several of my favorite sides and sauces, and completed the meal with an order of pita chips, the pita chips are so good I highly recommend them. Cava grill continues to be one of my go to fast casual restaurants because of their freshness and price the food amount ratio. I definitely recommend them for lunch and or dinner if you don't feel like cooking because of the mini options that they have. They are also a good choice if you're one that is trying to track their nutritional intake because of all the available nutritional facts you can find within the store. read more

The process is basically a build-your-own style just like Chipotle, but for Mediterranean food. The portions are quite generous for the price as well, and service was fast. I got a build-your-own bowl with half rice half salad, falafel, hummus and tzatziki, plenty of veggies, and tahini sauce. They also give you a complementary side of pita bread! The bowl was seriously so good. With everything mixed together, it was all so fresh and delicious. I love falafel, and theirs was really good. A bit chewier and less crispy than other places, but felt less greasy and I liked the flavor. I will definitely be returning to this place. Location: The location is kinda perfect, this location is in a shopping center with several other restaurants on the UMD campus. This is perfect for students or those taking Rt 1 to grab a bite. I went around lunch and it was pretty packed but the line was short. If you are taking your food to go that's perfect. I enjoy the complimentary pita that comes with the meal. However, I've recently started to notice that when I place a mobile order for pickup, there items missing in my order. Recently I had asked for arugula in my bowl but received mainly romaine lettuce. In addition, there was barely any sauce drizzled on the top. This was such an welcome and unexpected surprise! A friend and I went in to the store not really knowing what to expect and asked the people behind the counter what their own preferences were and went from there. I ended up getting a grain bowl with brown basmati and black lentils. I had then, per the employee's recommendation, put everything as follows into the dish: everything mentioned before plus the tzatziki, crazy feta, & I believe Harrisa spreads, lamb meatballs & grilled chicken, all that topped with the tomato & onion salad, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh and pickled onions. A mouthful of options in the bowl but they each paired with each other so nicely. The meatball was the star of the dish, and when that was exhausted the flavorful grilled chicken took its place. This cava location is great. Located just off of the UMD campus it's easy to get to, rarely crowded and consistent quality food. I went with a friend and we each got our "standard" bowls. I highly recommend the honey harissa chicken! I typically get a little nervous for the featured foods since I make my bowl and stick with it, but I will regularly be adding that to my regular roasted veggie bowl. I like that the price point of cava is reasonable and also allows me to enjoy Mediterranean flavors in a chipotle like setting. By no means is this authentic middle eastern flavors, but it's not meant to be. It's consistently good and relatively healthy so I enjoy going. read more

Don't use this location for ordering online! The staff is careless with online orders, I usually pick up about once a week and about 50% of the time my order is wrong. Missing ingredients, missing proteins, a bowl full of water (I still don't know how to explain the soggy, inedible bowl I received once). Why do I keep going back? I love Cava. It's okay if you actually watch them prep it, but they cut corners if you aren't watching. Pretty enraging when you pay extra for an ingredient for it to be left out without and warnings. Cava's customer support is also slow. It took several months to respond to an issue with this location and now I'm going to have to wait for months to see if they respond to my request for a refund for a meal with no protein. For now I'm just going to consider spending money at this location an utter waste. read more

Compared to the one in Rockville, college park salad is wimpy and small and not fresh or flavorful. Not awful. But meh. And the pick up order was filled wrong. I frequented this Cava last week after having a craving and was excited about the experience until I got to the sauce line and they said they were out of tzaziki for the night...it was 7pm. Once I got to the end of the line I discovered they did have tzaziki...at the call in bar. I ended up paying extra, but at least I had the sauces. Tonight I decided to give it another chance, bad idea. I saw the guy at the fixings station pull up his pants twice while in line (eww). I placed my order for the base, all the sauces were there, but there was a weird lineup for falafel. Once it came out I found folks coming in and out of line to go back and get sauces that were never put in their bowls because there was no one at the sauce station for some reason when they went though. Finally, I get to toppings dude. "Hey, you touched your pants while making the food". His reply..."Yeah I know gotta watch that". I hoped he changed his gloves...because he put a good amount of pita crisps on my salad although, they were more like fries. I though maybe my eyes were deceiving me, it was the bottom of the bowl, more came out and I thought they looked better but alas when I got home and there were the half crisp, half dough like, soggy pita fries. Since this place just recently opened, lines are really really long. I'm pretty sure I was in line for like 20 minutes. Staff seems very friendly though, they give good portion scoops. I like how I can get all toppings for cava. I might actually prefer cava over chipotle because of their dressing and hummus. I got the bowl with half chicken and half meatball, all toppings, some yogurt sauce, and some hummus. Although I got a bunch of toppings and three different types of dressings, it still felt healthier than chipotle. I also got their pineapple mint drink and it honestly wasn't that good.
