There are restrooms and benches and a very nice brick pathway along the edge of the water. The pier does extend out quite a way. The day we were there was blazing hot, so the walk to the end of the Pier seemed to take forever, but at the end there is some shade to make it all worthwhile. From the pier parking lot you could drive over to the beach area. There is a booth where you need to pay to enter the beach area, however when we were there, no one was working the booth. The beachfront is fairly long, and seems very clean. We weren't there very long, but we enjoyed checking it all out.

Truly an amazing view and I enjoyed walking out onto the pier just to enjoy the view. If you so desire, there is also a bar/restaurant about halfway out on the pier. Handicapped accessible parking directly in front of launch. Very quiet and scenic. It is wintertime & cold, so I did not get to see the normal wildlife like turtles and alligators, beavers. Tons of birds. Launch is only open from 8AM to 5PM daily. Nature Center is also a short stroll away.

If you are staying at the RV park you can use the area to fish even if you don't have a boat. The area is so nice because it is a combination of wild area and water. The restrooms are also nice and clean. The bathroom areas are all private. Each bathroom has a shower also. It was nice peaceful and quiet. We did get to see some gators and husband caught some fish. The park is conveniently located just a few miles from the USS Alabama ship and museum. If you want to go somewhere a little more upscale Fairhope is only an about a 20 minute drive. It is outside of town, but within minutes you have grocery and retail shopping.

I felt comfortable at the beach with plenty of seating. This beach is great for a family fun day, a friends meetup, a day date and/or an exercise venue. Volleyball on the beach was available, pier access, dock access and trails for walking and running. I'm impressed with clean sandy beach and the beach town.
