Once when they first opened and I wasn't impressed at all but brushed it off because they were a newly opened business and there is a store in Amarillo, TX that's the exact same concept, color palette and setup that I LOVE, so I had hope. And yesterday..I came in because I'm redoing a few tanks, I wanted to support local, wanted to get decor and was on the hunt for a few fish. It seems they barely have any live fish actually for sale, 1/3 of the display tanks they started with seem to be gone, and if they did have any for sale that weren't axolotl's, only 2-3 are marked with species and pricing. They were moving a ton of stuff around so majority of the decor was in a pop up wagon that I sifted through, one employee was super nice and tried to get me to go through it all (spoiler alert: this was the ONLY positive interaction I had). I grabbed a Fluval spray bar, all of them were marked $16.99, an artificial plant marked $19.99, and a couple of other things. When it came time to check out, the total was much higher than I expected. I asked about it and they showed me the screen with itemized pricing. First issue, the $16.99 spray bar was ringing up as $40.99. As soon as I pointed that out, the employee grabbed the spray bar and started peeling off the ONLY pricing sticker on the box and saying it must be marked wrong, even though all of them were marked that price. I pointed out that $40.99 is DOUBLE the price of the same product at all major retailers as I had it pulled up on my phone. There was no negotiation, no offer to honor the price, apparently nobody there with authority to speak to, and no explanation on doubling the price except, "the system rings up the retail price". Second issue, was the artificial plant I had grabbed was marked $19.99 and it too rang up more than the sticker ($20.99) which isn't a huge difference, I wouldn't have been upset about that one except I was already floored about the double price debacle. My last complaint is that everyone working in the "fish" section was too busy talking to some man they seemed to know that walked in (not product related conversations) and never asked a single person if they needed help with anything or had any questions. If you prefer to shop here, though ill-advised, double check pricing of ALL of your items at the register. But if you're looking for fish and prefer to shop local, I'd recommend you go to OKC Fish Lady/Aquariums in Edmond or Wet Pets by Steve in Norman.

My teen daughter was with me, owners daughter felt the need to point out she was younger and "in charge of all of this" before bragging about how she handles all the big snakes. Although it is closer in distance I won't even buy my frozen feeders here since I can't have confidence in them. For aquatics they are useless. I wish that weren't the case.

Another employee told me they had cleaned her multiple times -- which only made it more confusing and frustrating that she was returned to us still in that condition. When my wife called the grooming department, the grooming manager was extremely rude and dismissive. She claimed it was "not her problem" and blamed our dog for being anxious -- as if that excused the fact that this happened under their care. That kind of attitude is completely unprofessional. If a grooming service doesn't believe dogs are their responsibility while in their care, they shouldn't be entrusted with anyone's pet. To make things worse, when I asked to speak with the store manager, I was told she wasn't available and that I'd have to contact another store manager if I wanted to speak with someone -- another way of passing the buck instead of taking accountability. We will never return to Petco for grooming services and strongly recommend that other pet owners take their business elsewhere. Pets deserve care, not excuses and disrespect.
