A poorly terminated amp - including speakers not wired to their proper location (rear right being front left, etc.) Poorly mounted crossovers in the door with pinched speaker wire underneath the woofer (which would have been easy to avoid, because I re-routed it myself afterwards) and several holes for a tweeter that mounts with three holes necessary - two to secure the housing and one to pass the speaker wire). My Dell computer died and I took it to Golden Hills IT for repair. Unfortunately, it was not…read morefixable, they would have to replace it with a HP Omnidesk. When I got the HP home and plugged in the keyboard, monitor, Ethernet, sound system, external drive and projector, the computer was surprisingly inoperable. Couldn't even get into the BIOS. I had Golden Hills test the HP again. It worked fine. To their credit, Golden Hills offered to replace or refund. But they had put so much effort into the HP, I wasn't ready to give up on it easily. Golden Hills gave me the clue to solving the mystery. Their test setup is different than mine. One cable at a time, I powered down, unplugged the cable and powered up until the computer came on. My conclusion is that the HP's BIOS gets stuck if there is a Displayport to VGA cable plugged in at power on. Plug the cable in later and there's no problem. Anyway, Golden Hills was terrific throughout the troubleshooting. I recommend they stop selling HP computers!
