I got some classic, old, baby books for a good friend of mine's little one. Alice and wonderland, the three bears (you know, the one with portage made just right?), and more! The printed version I got were mostly from the 1970s. I also found an old Canada map, that I fell in love with the cover. (Of a women in a convertible cruising down a street with very mod flowers everywhere). It was from 1976 and I plan to frame it. (I'll add pictures once I'm able)

Just so you know: The Brown County Antique Mall is actually three different buildings…read more The main one, which sits just off the road, is your typical antique store. It has all kinds of tchotchkes, doodads, baubles, trinkets and other old and unique miscellany. The store is separated into booths, and there are different things in each booth. I saw all kinds of things that I wanted, but I had to physically stop myself from buying some of the vintage milk glass mugs. No one needs a milk glass mug with a buffalo on it, but the heart wants what the heart wants, sometimes. If you leave the main building and walk outside, and then turn to the right, you will see the second building: Route 46 Vintage. This vintage store deserves its own review, so you can read my separate review for that. But I'll just say that this is where you'll find funky vintage clothing and accessories. Then, there's a little shed-looking building that has more antiques and fun stuff, and also handmade goods from local artisans. Basically, the Brown County Antique Mall is a little campus full of eclectic treasures. You can definitely spend an hour or so here (or more!) looking through all of the stuff and buying all the things.

I love costume jewelry and was able to find several pieces that I liked and I brought home. There were big outdoor items on the front porch when we walked up. The place is right on the highway and easy to get to with adequate parking. The prices in the booths varied greatly with some being very reasonable and some I thought were high but I think that is the same as most antique/vintage stores of this type. We had a lot of fun shopping there and when we checked out the cashier was nice and helpful and told us about a couple store policies that we asked about. The owners are down-home Midwest friendly and engaging. There is a large barn with rooms filled with bottles, jars, tools, glassware, furniture and much more. Plan on spending a couple of hours if you look closely at everything. I don't linger; I walk at a good pace and stop when something catches my eyes. It still took me about an hour to get through 3/4 of the building. We simply ran out of time to finish browsing. You can find almost anything you're looking for at Treasure's. Clothing, jewelry, electronics, music, tools, books, furniture, small and large appliances, comic books, comic book characters, magazines, toys, wigs, nail polish, and home decor to start with. Prices appear to be reasonable on the items I checked. Prices varied per booth, and what the seller felt items were worth. I'll most likely stop in again when I have enough time to browse the rest of the store. Several interesting things got my attention.

Most of the booths are themed, but there are some that have everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. The mall is easy to navigate with two rows heading towards the back and then a series of rows crossing between them. I started at the back and worked my way forward. I didn't find too many antique furniture pieces which is disappointing for me. It looks like vendors rent booths in the store and sell their goods. They have some very unique old items such as comic books, shirts, candles, candy, records, toys, knives, swords, stuffed animals, signs, jewelry and postcards clothes. One of the most unique things I saw during my visit was a Vietnam-era Army Coat. There are tons of items here to browse. Because the store has independent vendor booths, you may able able to negotiate with the vendor to get a lower price on some items. This is a neat little spot that even though it is huge, it is clean and very well organized. You could spend a considerable amount of time going through here. This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. There are some large items…read moredisplayed at the front (a baby grand piano and a number of old gas pumps), but otherwise, the shop is arranged in rows of booths. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. And some of the items were well worn, so maybe not quite collectible, but the pricing seemed to reflect the condition. Seems like a decent place to stop if you enjoy browsing through these places.
