Such a cute and unassuming shop in downtown Cedar Falls! I almost walked by it because at first…read moreglance at the sign and everything, I couldn't register what this store was about. I looked into the window though and saw so many unique clothing pieces and decided to pop in! This clothing boutique is definitely filled to the brim with gorgeous and cute everyday to more business/formal wear kind of clothing in addition to wigs and other hair accessories. 75% of the store is clothing though with the back 25% past the fitting rooms reserved for hair goodies. There were so many wonderful pieces that I tried on here. Unfortunately, their sizing only goes up to XL and sometimes only L and I'm right at the edge of that, so some pieces fit, while many I wanted to try on I needed just another size up. Customer service was so lovely. The woman who was running the shop was shuttling clothes that I had pulled off the rack into my fitting room throughout my shop and was just so friendly and exuberant, while also giving me the space to shop and peruse at my own pace. I ended up getting a staple kind of black/gray denim button up shirt that will be great for the fall and spring weather and for layering throughout the colder months! I also got two sweaters that had a fun corgi print on them to gift to my corgi-loving friends! The pricing was reasonable here compared to what I normally associate with boutiques as well (these sweaters/denim jackets all averaged in the $40-50 range), so I really appreciated that. You'll get coupons when you make purchases here as well, so make sure to do that! Really loved this spot!

This store is so fun. They carry clothes that you wouldn't normally see in Cedar Falls, Iowa…read more Cute dresses, scarves, hats, and shoes. The jewelry is a lot of fun, and they also carry OPI nail polish. I was able to buy Golden Girls earrings...how awesome is that? Staff is super friendly. They also have wigs and extension available. I go to Charity, who has a chair in the back of the store. She does an awesome job on hair, and shes a delight to talk to. Whenever I go get my hair done I come a little early so I can shop at LBL. :)

Not a bad little store. It reminds me a lot of TJ Maxx - only noticeably smaller in size and…read morebreadth. I came four days after the grand opening. Prices were fantastic, though. Nice dresses were $15 to $25. Pants were in the $15 range. Definitely affordable. Some modern clothing/decor, but there's a noticeable amount of basics/classic-style stuff too. (Plain black pants, plain jeans, plain white bins, etc.) Store has purses, men's, children's, women's, plus clothing. Blankets and rugs. Bedding. Bathroom decor. Wall decor. Children's toys. Workout gear. Fragrances. Furniture including chairs/ottomans. Laundry room supplies. Lots of one-copy items - especially in the decor section. TJ Maxx tends to have a couple copies of each home decor item, but here at Ross, it's mostly a single-copy item in both the clothing and the decor sections. Everything was a nightmare of mess when I came, though. I'm not holding it against them as their parking lot was full and I'm sure they're still dealing with the novelty of being new. Noticeably long line waiting to check-out. Again, possibly due to the grand opening. Walked by a lot of staff and was never greeted. Again, possibly staff is just stressed with the extra-busy days. Lots of shelves were empty, but again, grand opening. I'll likely re-review when Ross has been around for awhile and the novelty has worn off. Every Tuesday is 10% off for people 55 and older.

NWT Consignment, while it doesn't seem to have as many "new with tags" items as I expected, is…read morestill a good consignment store. I'm in love with their Facebook/Craigslist drop-off exchange service! You can find some pretty good deals here - but you'll probably have to be careful as some of their items seem more expensive than necessary. PROS: -Facebook/Craigslist item drop-off is pretty amazing. Selling something online? Come in here, drop off your item along with $1, and they'll hold the item and allow the other person to pick up the item at the other person's leisure (and they'll collect the money for you + $1 extra dollar from the second person for the service). No trying to arrange suitable times between two people. No meeting in front of random stores to "make the exchange". They'll do it for you, and they only charge $2 - which is split between the two people. -Friendly service. There was a woman that greeted us when we walked in, let us know to ask her if we had any questions. Another woman asked her for help, and she went around and showed the woman all of the shirts she knew of that fit her request. She wasn't pushy, but she was friendly and around to help - and she was happy to answer my questions too. -Nothing seemed to smell like smoke or have pet hair on it. The building itself has a bit of a musky smell to it, but you get used to it within minutes. -Good sales. When we came here, everything (outside of wedding dresses, designer purses, and such) was $10 each. This discounted a lot of the prices within the shop to see well-within reach for consignment items. -Large variety of items. There's jewelry here, everyday clothes, business clothes, men's/women's/children's clothes, wedding dresses, shoes/heels/boots, prom-type dresses, furniture, and some industrial-type building supplies in the back. There are designer and non-designer purses too. They also have men's suits and shoes. -They offer layaway. I imagine this is for their big-ticket items (like wedding dresses) and less-so for their $5 jewelry rack. CONS: -Regular, everyday prices do seem a bit high. $30 for a non-brand name dress at a consignment store is a bit intense - and that seemed to be a standard price for some of it. That being said, they do have regular sales - and it seems like the pricing really does seem to vary by item. I found $5 sweat pants that I thought about walking home with. You can find some good deals if you look around. -It doesn't seem like everything here is new/unworn. I'm not sure what the estimate would be, but especially with shoes, there's a whole lot of wearing on many of the treads. -Organization isn't great among some of the racks. There are different areas for Small/Medium/Large/XLarge/Plus, but pants/skirts/dresses/shirts seem to be mixed in along each rack. The plus-size rack seemed to vary sizes from 14 all the way up to 28, and all of those were all sorts of mixed up too.

I recently bought a gift only to find that the zipper had teeth missing. I called immediately and left a message. I received no response for four days. When I went in to the store to ask about it, I was shown a small sign about six inches above the floor, hidden behind a shirt saying no returns. When I asked why no one had called back the owner got very abusive. Buy at your own risk.
