Then we waited again for the entree, then we waited some more. Took about 1.5 hours for the entire meal. We were all on the same charter bus, so that was not a huge issue. The servers were all cheerful, and doing their best to get us the food when it was ready. Filled and refilled all of our waters and other drinks. Brought us rolls and butter to keep everyone happy. The food was pretty good, especially considering that they were feeding a large group. The salad was fresh, and well presented. The chicken was hot, tender, and had a flavorful sauce. The chocolate brownie dessert was a bit disappointing. Not sure how the service would defer as a single table?

We did not stay at the lodge. The truth is: the food was 3-star worthy, but the convenience was 5-stars. We split the grilled cheese and the bison burger. Both were just a-okay. I was tempted to drive a few miles to Field to visit one of their highly rated establishments, but we were tired and hungry and wanted to canoe after our meal. This ended up being an ideal stop for us, based on our situation. The Lodge also has WiFi, which is helpful in a region where there is absolutely no cell service. And they allow you to be served in the very comfortable lounge area, rather than the actual dining room, if you prefer. We preferred. It can't be easy to get food supplies out to Emerald Lake, so the 3-star food rating is no knock on them. We very much appreciated the convenience!

Also, all of the staff we interacted with were friendly. Unfortunately, the place is gross. The first thing I had to do upon entering the room was kill mosquitos. Since we'd been camping, we didn't need more bug bites. There were many of the diminutive enemy resting on the filthy popcorn ceiling, so I stood on a chair and stealthily squished them with my finger. Since we'd been camping, showers were in order. We took them, and they were fine. However, my time in the washroom allowed me to observe that there were hairs in there that weren't ours, that the tub and mirror needed refinishes a long time ago, and that the fan didn't do anything to clear the steamy air. This last issue was important because the outside air quality was a level 7 from the wildfires, so we had the screen door and window shut (Our eyes and lungs were stinging like mad). But alas! No air conditioning. Thus, even though it was 70 degrees fahrenheit outside, it was hot and muggy in our room. The beds were ok, but every time someone walked by our room, the plywood of the landing resonated enough to wake me. Also, my wife was bothered by the train across the lake, which made an other-worldly sound that was something between a hum and a squeal, which I rather enjoyed. If you are a heavy sleeper, none of this would be enough to bother you. The road noise, of which there was a great deal during the day, died out at night. The most interesting part of our stay was "breakfast." It was self-serve, and our choices consisted of coffee, tea, toast, and cereal. I thought I would have cereal, but all four of the bowls in the "clean" stack were visibly dirty. So I had toast and jam. The bread choice was which bag would I take my slice of inexpensive brown bread from. The coffee was fine, but I'd advise you to use a to-go cup. The furniture in the dining room was shabby, even though recently purchased from Target. Nevertheless, we sat down at a crumb-covered table and took in the view.

Fair prices, cozy rooms, very poor service!…read more A couple friends and I booked a stay and ski package here over reading week, first impression was a cozy little lodge, and decently priced rooms. This would have been a great place for us students to stay on a budget, if it wasn't for the service we received. The staff and management were cold and not very accommodating. A part of the package we booked was a shuttle service to and from the ski hill, and even after we double and triple checked the pick up time for that afternoon, our shuttle still managed to leave us at the hill as the driver decided to leave 25 minutes early. Hotel management refused to pay for the cab we had to take back, or to even apologize for the inconvenience and instead decided to argue with us before blowing us off completely. So bottom line, if you're willing to put up with extremely poor service and treatment in order to save a buck, you could give this place a try. Otherwise, I'd say keep looking.

The staff that greeted us was amazing. Friendly and cheerful. This place is impeccably clean and maintained both inside and out. It has a lodge feel which we liked. Well stocked with coffee and coffee maker, tea and some snacks. It is close enough to Lake Louise that you can walk, which was helpful because we couldn't park our own car there. Walk is 0.7 miles along the road with a path and then a nice path through the woods. I loved this place. Highly recommend.

When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

Apparently it's been snowing heavily and due to the heavy snowfall, the hotel could not put up the rink until it would stop snowing. Lots of people were hanging out on the lake. The hotel had ice sculptures and an ice bar. I saw a few horse drawn carriages as well. They had a well lit tunnel. Their lobby was decorated with Christmas trees and garlands. For the afternoon tea, I got the Egyptian chamomile tea. It had sweet elements to it and was considered a flavored tea. I did try it with sugar and milk. Although it didn't taste bad, I prefer to have my tea without anything. The tea itself was good enough for me. In addition to the tea, my meal came with a glass of prosecco. For the food, I got their basic menu which comes with 4 varieties of cake, 2 pastries, 3 sandwiches, a croissant and deviled egg. They offer different foods as well depending on your dietary needs. They have seafood, vegetarian, kids menu and I believe gluten free as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My waiter was so kind and helpful. My view from my table was beautiful. I plan on coming back again.

There were several nice amenities, such as a fresh whole fruit basket in our room upon arrival, tea in the lobby in afternoons (however, we didn't partake), nice breakfast treat left in our room each night, coffee in the room and in the hallway if you preferred fresh coffee and creamer. Our room was a nice size with 2 double beds and 2 comfortable chairs and small table. The location was wonderful as we rented a car & drove all around the area. What a gorgeous area! OMG! I have never seen so much beauty within a short drive. I took so many photos. It snowed the 2nd night we were there and made the mountains extra beautiful. The service at the hotel was great - doorman, registration desk & a staff member even helped us scrape ice off our windshield in the morning when it was 14 degrees (F) out. We're from California, US, so didn't know how to do it! LOL! I have recommended the Post Hotel to several friends and we're considering returning in the Spring. Loved it here!

When we arrived at the gated Lake Moraine road, we were yelled at by the Parks Canada gate attendant which left us shaken, but Rosie turned our day completely around! We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the lodge. We were also asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked if they were allowing canoeing, and she hooked it up for us right then even though we were the first of the season. Our room was stunning and they left a really nice welcome gift for us, a chocolate bar and two Moraine Lake Lodge water bottles (metal, super nice!). We loved our little fireplace and we could not believe the view from our room. I took a bath and I really liked how they give you a little bath cube from L'Occitane. Their bath products smell great! When I got out of the tub my fiancé came in carrying a bottle of champagne! He said the front desk staff was super nice in helping him set up the surprise. We had a great time sipping champagne and sitting on our porch. For dinner we ate in the dining room, and the service was very slow... I made eye contact with our server a couple of times to signal we were finished but she still took a long time to come to our table. We were there for more than two hours. The food was good though, just be aware that dinner is an occasion. We walked by the lake after dinner and it was great because there was no one there. The next morning, we got up super early but not early enough to avoid the tour buses. I think they come in at 4 a.m. and descend on the rockpile. That's one thing about staying here that's not ideal. You're sharing the lake, the cafe, and the gift shop with lots of tourists throughout the day. We could not even grab anything from the cafe because the line of tourists at 8 a.m. was so long. The complimentary breakfast was my favorite meal here but you do need a reservation. We asked the receptionist if we could get sandwiches to go ordered even though we missed the deadline, but she said no. It was a bummer- so definitely book reservations and ask for sandwiches in advance if you're not going to be there between 12:30-2 p.m. Our breakfast service was much better! They give you a pastry and fruit cups. It was the BEST PASTRY EVER. It was maple and we loved it; the server was kind enough to bring us another helping without us even asking. We both got a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and homestyle fries. Overall, we both had a great time but we definitely enjoyed the privacy of our balcony the most. If we had more days here we would have opted to sign up the guided hikes. There's not many other things to do here besides hike, read and relax with no pool, spa or fitness center but I do think when you consider having access to lake moraine, a complimentary breakfast and canoe ride, the price feels not as bad.

The rooms were perfect for our family of four and the beds were very warm and comfortable. I had the best rest here out of all the places we stayed during our week-long trek of Canada. They do not provide shampoo/conditioner or lotion, however, so don't forget to bring your own. Located in the tiny town of Fields, BC, nearby traveling spots include Lake Louise, Emerald Lake, Lake O'Hara and Oesa, Takakkaw Falls, and the Burgess Shale. Take advantage of all the outdoor activities as well! Hiking and canoeing are absolutely amazing in this area. Don't forget to write in the leather guestbook they have under the tv!

I love the concept of unplugging from technology and getting back to nature. The staff is amazing and truly warm and welcoming. They have family style seating in the dining room and at first I wasn't sure, but what an awesome experience. Met many new, funny people through this. All walks of life. Each meal felt like a family get together. Just truly a transformative experience. We need more of this in our very technology heavy lives. Thank you TLBL for an amazing experience. Was really sad to leave.

I didn't fully appreciate Num-Ti-Jah Lodge when I stayed here 2 years ago because I was so bent on…read morestaying up to date on my social media accounts. Looking back I wish I didn't bother with Wi-Fi at all (it didn't work half the time anyway) & enjoyed the experience more. The restaurant, The Elkhorn Dining Room, had really great food. We went down & had dinner once, as well as one night we sat in the little seating area outside of the restaurant as we didn't make a reservation in time but they did serve us. We only went for dessert anyway so they really didn't mind. It was a nice atmosphere to just sit back & relax with some cheesecake. We also managed to grab some breakfast the day we were leaving & it was also very good. Like VERY good! I still dream of it to this day. The scenery alone is worth going back for. This lodge sits on the shores of Bow Lake amongst some of the most beautiful and, dare I say it, Instagram-able, mountains. There's a hike up to Bow Glacier Falls that is said to take about an hour & a half to get to and, judging by the pictures I've seen, a must see. I wasn't able to make the hike myself but am fully prepared to make the trip this year. I should add: this is an OLD lodge & does not have an elevator. I made the mistake of packing a suitcase. Next time I'll stick to backpacks. Much easier to lug up a couple flights of stairs (our room was on the top floor)! If you ever visit Num-Ti-Jah please use it as a chance to unplug & relax! It's an amazing place! I know I regret not slowing down & appreciating it more. It truly is a beautiful place.
