I had purchased one of those 7lb cans of luxardo cherries to go with cocktails for the night and of course got cherry juice on my fluffy white dress and one of the bartenders deftly and quickly saved my dress with some club soda too! Our food amounts were seemingly perfect as far as I can tell (as advised by the caterer based on our attendee numbers) and we did a grazing menu: a great variety of delicious slider sandwiches, a bruschetta bar, two orders of charcuterie, two orders of cheeses, vegetable and fruit plates, and four types of hors d'oeuvres with enough for each person to have at least 2 of each. I opted for the "Flying Solo" size due to the price points and I also happened to be flying solo during my visit! The "Flying Solo" size comes in a cute cup with one meat, one cheese, one side, and a pre-packaged honey stick. I am pretty much obsessed with prosciutto so I had my heart set on that as my meat selection. Unfortunately for me, that also meant a $3 up-charge. When I couldn't decide between a decent sized brie and the blueberry goat cheese, I agreed to another up-charge so I could get both for my side, I opted for the cornichons aka mini pickles. I should note the "Flying Solo" came with two crackers, albeit long crackers that could be broken up into several pieces (thankfully). In terms of service, the woman working was very pleasant and friendly. She described each of the meats and cheeses and shared A Board Above has been in their current location for about a year and a half. They had been using it for their industrial kitchen and opened The Graze Bar about six weeks ago as a solution for those wanting same day charcuterie boards. Bottled beverages are also available as well as some jams, etc. I would love to see items for purchase to make your own charcuterie in the future i.e., partnering with woodworkers in the area for the boards, cheese knives for sale, meat and cheese placards, etc. The location is small but packs a good punch. Easy parking right in front or overflow on the side of the buildings. I am sitting outside writing this review and enjoying my charcuterie. I should probably go back in and ask for a small plate to be better able to assemble and enjoy each of the items but I will make do. I can't speak to the pre-order options but it looks like there are quite a few! The Graze Bar is a neat idea that I'd recommend checking out. The presentation is always pretty, but it's never very filling for the price paid, and things that should be refrigerated are not (i.e. many cheeses sit out at room temp the whole time so people avoid eating them, leaving them to be discarded at the end). Much of the display is for aesthetic purposes only and not edible.
