I worked with Nancy at Bolingbroke Mansion, one of their venues out in Wayne. I could not be happier with the experience. I have never had such a great sense of service before. Now that I have done a wedding, I know that I should not stress myself out anymore if I have a vendor like CBD in charge. Nancy makes you feel like you've been life long friends in a couple of seconds. She went above and beyond to make our day special. She knew we had a tight budget, but showed us many different ways we could do the menu that would make it fit. She kept us on track and up to date on the things we needed to do. She ran out on our wedding day and got us Triple Sec with her own money because we had forgotten. The food was amazing, every server was attentive and wonderful. The bartender we hired through them, Gary, was an amazing affable guy that made the night one to (or not)remember. I also used their in house decorator, Garnish, with Carolyn Rizzo. Oh my gosh. I wish I had more pictures of all the beautiful things she did. Again, they made things work within our budget and I so appreciate that. In general, I was overwhelmed by the service they provided. They decorated a few of the fireplaces at no extra cost. They were punctual, professional, and incredibly detail-oriented. I highly encourage you to invest in CBD for your caterer. They really blew me away.

Our wedding was truly a masterpiece. I know everyone says and thinks that of their wedding day, but it truly was--and so much of that has to do with the One North Broad Team and Catering By Design. My husband and I met in Philadelphia (where I am also from) so we wanted our wedding in Philly even though we live in New York City. For this reason, we knew that we needed a solid/responsive team to work with because so many of our interactions would be virtual. ONB and CBD were it! Catering By Design is ONB's exclusive caterer. Initially, we were hesitant about venues that had exclusive caterers because we are FOODIES and we wanted the venue and catering decisions to be separate. However, CBD did not come to play! Knowing how passionate we were about choosing ONB as our venue, but unsure of CBD as our caterer, Terri Fair arranged for us to have a tasting BEFORE we made the official commitment. To me that gesture alone demonstrated that they were not just invested in receiving our money/business, but committed to proving they could be the perfect fit for our perfect day. What also sold us on CBD was their many many catering options. A lot of catering companies have their set menu tiers with set prices, and you just pick from a list. CBD, however, works within your budget and food preferences to make your dreams reality! While we still opted for a traditional seated dinner, we had the option to do family-style, buffet, etc... And the range of food options from their hors d'oeuvres to their entrees were overwhelming in the best way imaginable! A foodie heaven! The staff that worked our wedding was out of this world. From the way they dressed to the way they interacted with our guests-- folks are still talking about how impressed they were with the team. My husband and I had a dedicated staff member who made sure we had everything we needed BEFORE we even needed, and that small detail truly made a world of difference. The set-up and break-down of our reception was seamless and efficient, and before we were ready to head out of the door we had all of our extra food packaged and ready to go with us-- which was much appreciated the morning after!

She was good in the beginning but she never came back. We ordered hookah and she decided to give us whatever flavor she saw fit and claimed we never specified. But if that was the case why didnt she ask? Anyway we got the hookah and was told we get one free. When we asked her for a refill she said we have to order it downstairs because shes not the bartender. Then when we finally ordered it and paid in advance we didn't get our refill until 20 mins before it closed. And that was for 3 hookahs. The bar upstairs had nothing. NOTHING! Ginger ale was given to us in three cups like where the hell did yal get that from. Our VIP was on the second floor and was very roomy (empty af) which we didn't mind. Then they tried to close the 2nd floor early because it wasnt as packed as expected and kick us out of our V.I.P! Before all of that a couple of us went downstairs to party in the packed area. When we tried to go back up to get our things to leave this rude as security guard told the females in front of us that hes not letting us upstairs because its closed? My guy! money was spent very well let me get my things to leave. So after informing him of that this rude mofo says behind me "yal bitches think I'm supposed to be letting yal go when i said ita closed" needless to the yelling and cussing began. Im no ones bitch first of all and he needs to have some damn respect. So i got my things and left finally but not they were rushing us out after we were already leaving. Let me just say im from N.Y brooklyn to be exact and maybe sometimes i expect too much from the natives of the town im in however if you dont know how to deal with customer service then you dont need to be in this business. People are spending their money to keep your lights on and if they continue to do business as such then their days are definitely going to be numbered. Oh yeah did i mention that this is or more like a house renovated into a club? I admire the innovation but I also expect to get quality service for my quality money. Overall... i mean im basically rating the price of the bottle package for three stars. They coulda kept the nasty attitudes. Those littles badges they had on were getting to their heads. Humble yaselves guys.

Lucky for me, my boyfriend kindly surprised me with tickets to a Sunday night Paint Nite at St. Declan's Well where we were to paint a sunset scene with two dolphins and a palm tree. The night started at 7 PM, and they suggested you arrive 15 minutes early to set up. We were promptly greeted by Jess, our instructor for the night. The Paint Nite crew had taken over the back half of the bar with a blank canvas set up on a green table cloth for everyone. We selected two seats in the back, facing the opposite direction of the instructor- this wasn't a beg deal as we just turned our seats during instruction. Additionally Jess used a microphone and speaker so everyone could hear- this worked well, but I think it's time for Paint Nite to upgrade to a bit nicer of equipment. If you are coming with a bigger group- get there early so you can get seats together. I wish that Paint Nite would have done assigned seating. Some tables were overly crowded while others had room to share. After getting our cups of water and pumps of paint, we put on our aprons and started the class. At first we were a little nervous, but Jess led us through the entire thing and made it easy for anyone to participate. Jess took pictures throughout the night and later posted them on the company's facebook page which was nice. The bar was cool, but the service was horrible. The bar staff was rude and took way to long to fill orders. I don't think I would come back to this location for a Paint Nite. Overall this is a super unique activity and overall a great time sure to be filled with smiles, painted hands, and laughter. I can't wait to pick another painting and come again.

When I originally bought the deal from Living Social, it was quickly cancelled, which was a disappointment. However, a few days later I noticed the deal on Groupon, so I bought it again - clearly there are some technical/promotional issues, but thankfully, this time it was on! We did a Sunday paint nite at Head House Crab & Oyster Co, on 2nd and South. The space was huge and the restaurant and bar were pretty dead on Sunday at 7pm, so I can understand why they'd welcome a crowd of 30 painters - especially when those painters are being encouraged to drink throughout the entire class. I understand the reciprocal relationship of Paint Nite using the space and encouraging people to buy drinks from the bar, but the pushiness was obvious and got a bit annoying after 2 hours. As for the class itself, we painted "Fireflies" - an abstract sort of image that is evidently their most popular piece. Although the instructions were vague at time, it was an "Easy" level painting, and so they came out fairly well. Perhaps the most interesting and fun part was to walk around and see how 30 different people could interpret the same scene so many different ways - although I have to admit, it inspired some artist envy! Overall, the novelty of painting your own masterpiece, while being able to sip drinks, makes for a fun night out, especially if you gather up a group to go. At $50 a person, I wouldn't pay full price, but there seems to be no shortage of half-price deals floating around on the inter webs. Not sure if I'll be a repeat customer, because really, what do you do with a bunch of giant hand painted canvases? Nevertheless, check it out yourself, eager to see more reviews up here!

And after we had our wedding, our guest did nothing but rave about how fun, unique and perfect the reception was. But just having a reception at RTM is not what I'd recommend it. It was so much more. It was having the incredible variety of foods - we had cheesesteaks, DiNic's roast pork, Chinese food, a salad bar, poutine and corn dogs, grilled cheese from Meltkraft, the list goes on. It was having a historic and unique setting that was transformed into a beautiful evening even with string lights, candles, table clothes, decorations and provided an ambiance it'd be impossible to replicate anywhere else. It was the servers who attended to our guests every need, kept the party going, the room clean and the people happy. It was every little touch that the planning team executed perfectly for us, that all happened without us realizing it, without any reminders or questions. The planning team at All About Events were the true heroes of the night - and in fact, the whole planning process. We met with them about 15 months before our wedding, and Christina, Stevie and Liam made sure that everything was easy, fun and exciting. Christina's emails to us were always clear and thorough, addressing every little question I had asked, and pointing out tiny things I never would have thought of. Stevie's communication with our vendors was so appreciated, including our Mummers and DJ! And every time we met with them, the meetings were exciting, joyful. Their personalities and kindness and caring for us and our events just SHONE. We could not recommend RTM and AAE more. They are a truly wonderful team, and a gem in the Philadelphia wedding scene. I hope that we get to go to another event at the market soon, and we will certainly keep them in mind for our 10th anniversary vow renewal!!!!
