Catering by Andrew did an excellent job recently with catering a certified Kosher lunch for a workshop we had with clients coming from Israel! The deli platter was a beautiful spread of meats and came with two lovely bread options. The tuna salad as well as the pickle platter were also total hits! I highly recommend Catering by Andrew for any of your Kosher needs if you're in the Boston area. This was one of the few places I could find that is truly blessed by a rabbi and delivers the food with the proper seal and everything! read more

At both my children's weddings, our guests, particularly those from New York ( who think they've experienced it all) exclaim how fine food and lovely the presentation is. Unlike many other catering establishments, Andrew Weiner unusually maintains his serving staff as full time employees. That investment creates a remarkably professional serving staff, who consistently maintain a polished event, where guests experience flawless service, which enhances every event. Andy Weiner listens well to our input, succeeding making each event unique, a remarkable talent seeing that we've been guests at plenty of other weddings and bar/b'not mitzvah celebrations. Andrew has the talent and cleverness to add the perfect touch to each event. For example, my son's June bar-mitzvah fell on an unusually hot day. Our family + guests walked about 1/4 mile to the reception location, where to my delight, the staff met us and our guests at the front door, with trays overflowing with fruit shaped miniature sorbets served on thin sticks to refresh all the 200+ guests & family from the heat we entered the reception room. What a creative, elegant move by Catering by Andrew, with no extra change to total cost of the event. I hope this illustrates the degree to which Andy cares about each occasion from beginning to end, tweaking the event in real-time to make your event extra-special. While the food from Andrew's is good (I've had it many times at events that range from shul kiddish to formal weddings/bnei mitzvah), that is where the compliments end. His approach is arrogant to say the best. When my husband and I were looking for a caterer to do our wedding, Andrew immediately offered his assumptions about who we are, based on our various community affiliations and refused to accept any vision but his own as to what our wedding could look like. When we tried to correct his assumptions and offer our own ideas about our wedding, he dismissed them immediately and continued the conversation as if obviously we would go with his vision. His entitlement and arrogance were a huge turn-off and drove us to find another kosher caterer (A Perfect Taste by Neil Morris) who couldn't have done a better job for us! In addition to his poor service, Andrew charges an outrageous cost for his food. My husband ordered a breakfast from him during passover, and it cost $45 for a few pieces of fruit, one piece of matzah, a slice of pound cake, and some cream cheese. Yet, all the while, his storefront (which is in the heart of Coolidge Corner) looks like an abandoned warehouse. read more

If anyone coming to your event has a serious allergy, find a different caterer. Catering by Andrew routinely mislabels allergens. I have seen a dish marked gluten-free that contains wheat pasta, an ingredient list that includes walnuts but instead the dish contains pecans, and more. Catering by Andrew does beautiful wedding catering, but they are dangerously careless about identifying allergens. read more

Our family was traveling on a Friday from Acadia National Park. We were afraid we wouldn't reach Brookline prior to their 2 PM closing. They suggested a dropoff at the YI of Brookine. Catering by Andrew did a phenomenal job providing spectacular h'orderves, food stations and a delicious dinner for our daughter's recent wedding. Rachael was absolutely wonderful to work with. She always got back to us immediately, whenever we had a question and was extremely friendly, easy-going and knowledgeable. We were thrilled that she was available for the wedding. Attended an event in the last few week with over 1,300 guests and the food was phenomenal. A wide range of items were prepared, from cod cakes and loads of tasty salads to barbecue chicken, beef brisket and corned beef. All absolutely delicious, especially the corned beef - I never wanted it to end but sadly there was other people who wanted some, too!! The desserts were equally incredible. The fact that all of it was kosher (probably??) makes it even more amazing. So clearly I cannot say enough about this caterer. And I've attended smaller events catered by this company, and that food was also delicious. You just can't go wrong!! read more

I attended a shul kiddush catered by Andrew for a bat mitzvah last winter, and everything was delicious, expertly presented, and abundant. The grilled steak brochettes were tender, flavorful, and cooked a perfect medium, with a little pink inside. They were marinated in a most delicious teriyaki. The chulent was one of the best I've ever tried at a catered function; it was full of meat, the potatoes retained their integrity, and the flavors were rich and melded together expertly. The potato kugel was crispy on its exterior, and retained a creamy white consistency inside, and the lukshen kugel was full of cinnamon and raisins, and complemented the chulent perfectly. If I were to ever make a simcha in the Boston area, I would not hesitate to use Andrew. read more

I ordered from andrew for my son's Brit. The food was very good and got a lot of compliments, the delivery was on time and Chris (the delivery guy) was very nice and helpful, the food came ready to serve - no need to try and make seem nicer. I had just one problem - not a native english speaker or reader I had some mis understanding with my order and got much less food from what I needed (I got what I ordered, it just wasn't nearly enough) - I called them up and they were able to send more food on time and saved the day to my satisfaction. Even before our daughter was officially engaged, Andrew guided us through the complicated process of planning a wedding, and he made it feel easy! His expert advice for all aspects of the wedding was invaluable. He helped us find the perfect venue, plan a delicious menu, coordinate everyone's schedules for the day, and figure out room layouts. He really did it all! Every time we emailed or called, Andrew personally responded to our request. This wasn't our first event with CBA and certainly won't be the last. WOW! Just AMAZING! Andrew catered our daughter's wedding several weeks ago and we are still getting emails and phone calls with rave reviews from our guests who were from all over the country. Everything was delicious. The sushi was out of this world, so fresh and the presentation was so elegant and classy. The carving station had the most delicious corn beef. And the hor d'heuves were out of this world: I'm still dreaming about the tuna tartar on a won ton chip, the duck pastrami on rye and the latke with smoked salmon and creme fraiche. Many told us that the sea bass and rack of lamb entrees were the best that they had ever had. We couldn't be happier with the food, the great customer service, the presentation and the communication. Catering by Andrew delivers and surpasses all expectations. There is no one else I would want to cater the most important event in my family's life. read more

Andrew catered my wedding this January at the Taj Boston. My husband and I, along with our parents, were impressed by their knowledge, their professionalism, and how tasty the food was! From the beginning, we found them very easy to work with, helpful, and responsive. They were our pseudo-wedding planners as they reviewed our evening plan multiple times and provided quick and valuable input. They also worked closely with the hotel to coordinate all of the kosher logistics and details (even making sure all of the soda at the "after party" bar that CBA wasn't responsible for was kosher!). As for the food - from the many diverse options on their menu, to the tasting, to the event, their variety and quality of food far supersedes any wedding we have ever been to! We know that the two most memorable parts of a wedding are 1) the band and dancing, and 2) the food -- including the appetizers and smorgasbord, the dinner and desserts. You definitely can't go wrong with Andrew. We would recommend them for any and all events, and hope to have the opportunity to work with them (and have their food!) in the future. read more

We had Catering by Andrew as the caterer for the wedding of our daughter and her fiancée in late August. We can't say enough to complement Andrew and company on their superb job at the event. When we first contacted Andrew, he gave us immediate attention with several suggestions for the event. We selected Andrew over the other caterers because of the very detailed proposal that he prepared and his many suggestions indicating that his team would be capable of giving excellent service. Ironically, as we were making the decision, we met another couple who were raving about a recent wedding; the caterer turned out to be Andrew! As we planned the wedding, we got tremendous help from the sales manager, Rachael. In fact, Rachael helped us with a lot of suggestions, not just about the food, but also how to organize the many details for the wedding. Rachael was always available to answer our questions and give us excellent advice. The wedding went off perfectly. The staff at the reception did a perfect job.
