Dream Enrichment Classes

My child attends the Early Engineer class during their school's after school time and she really…read morelikes it. This is her 3rd year taking the class and it is the only class she actually wants to participate in after school even though there are many other fun and educational offerings at her school (from Dream Enrichment Classes as well as other vendors/providers). This year has been her favorite b/c she really likes her teacher Ms. Tina. She says there's much more freedom to interact with other students and the noise level/interactivity isn't as much a concern with this teacher as previous ones so then the kids are more free to really get into their various weekly projects. Even though my daughter isn't especially into science/engineering/other STEM subject matters, she loves EE. She says it's just so fun and interesting. I'm glad for this program at her school and hope it continues. She enjoys it so much and the pictures they take show how much all the kids learn through all the weekly challenging projects. It is not cheap, per se, but for less than $400 for a whole school year's worth of classes, averaging out to less than $20 per class, my husband and I feel it's a good investment of time and money for our little one. We're glad she likes EE and hope she'll continue to grow in knowledge and understanding of STEM through this and other similar enrichment classes, even if she doesn't enter into a STEM career path, we still want her to be enriched through these experiences.

Specifically Folsom Summer Early Engineers. Not great. A LOT of kids crammed into one room with…read morevarying levels of instructor interest - my kids ended up with a guy who seemed always to be on his phone. It felt crowded and loud and there didn't seem to be much instruction or activities planned - kids played with some Lego, made a few things out of cardboard. It was basically daycare, with too many kids of varying ages in one space. Firefly Art in Fair Oaks was great. Lovely instructor, cute projects, small group. We have one more (stop motion animation) so will see. I doubt I would sign up for them again next year.

The inside has such a cool relaxed music studio vibe, I think I spent most of the time walking around and checking everything out from the different rooms to all of the awesome artwork on the walls. I even love their giant wall where all the kids sign and doodle on it! When we arrived, one of the owners welcomed us and gave us a tour. I love that they have glass doors so you can see other students practicing everything from drums, to bass, to singing! As much as you'd think all of the noise could be a bit much, I actually found it relaxing and liked hearing all the different instruments. My daughter's singing coach (Cale) was very patient and kind and she left even more excited to join than when we arrived. When we left, the receptionist gave us a flyer with the pricing and class options for my daughter's age - I thought it was a bit steep at first, but it includes 8 classes a month - 2 a week - 1 one on one session for 30 minutes and 1 group lesson for an hour and a half. Everyone there was so nice and you can tell the coaches/teachers love their job and what they can offer to these kids! The coaches offer everything from bass, guitar, drum, singing, and even keyboard/piano. They also offer summer camps, workshops and they even have the kids put on concerts! We will definitely be joining soon and I can't wait to see where School of Rock takes my daughter's confidence! Check them out!

The performance category seems pricy, but for what you get out of it for your kiddo it's totally worth it. Great selection of musical abilities to choose from!
