Kids had a blast on the pony rides!

Our 4 kiddos had a blast on the pony rides. The process couldn't be easier -make reservations online (or just stop in honestly) -fill out a form -put on a helmet (they provide helmets) -wait till the pony is ready, then when it is, you walk up small steps to get on -stroll around on the pony while someone guides you The people are super patient and helpful, too. I would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I went on a 7am ride for our anniversary, and it was very fun and beautiful sunrise and experience. We both had never rode before but luckily we got Darell who is extremely knowledgeable about the horses and the property he was just a great friendly guide. We loved our ride so much that returned that same day with our kids and family! The smile on my sons face is a feeling I can't describe, he really enjoyed being there with the horses and getting so close to them. Doing the horseback ride Is a beautiful way to explore Gibson ranch and all it has to offer (without having to walk all over lol). Additionally I live close by and all the surrounding trails call for exceptional running/walking trails. Anyways I'm happy with our experience at the ranch and the ability to ride beautiful horses. Thanks Darell for the great tour And great service !

Trail brothers at Gibson ranch was wonderful. We booked a photography session to take pictures with a horse. They call you and ask you what color horse you would like. I dressed my daughter up, and was allowed to put the flower unicorn and flower necklace around the house. The young lady that took us out on the trail was so patient with me, my daughter and the horse. She would get the horse to look in certain direction so i was able to capture the picture. I will definitely be back again to take more photos.

It was absolutely amazing. I went for my anniversary and our horses was so good. They both listened to us when we asked them to do something. The guy who was doing the horseback ride was hands down was amazing. It was like we knew each other. Can't wait to go back!!

Getting on a horse for the first time

This was the BEST experience I've ever had. I am not usually an animal person so Gibson ranch made it very easy for me to be comfortable in my first training experience.

Our groups enjoy the ride. The person who was leading the trail was very nice and pleasant to have conversation.

If you're looking for a fabulous boarding situation or even just want to use the arenas occasionally through SHA's annual membership, I highly recommend you join.

She didn't like something I said that she heard while she was listening, so she kicked me out. I am in a much better place and even though they have cameras around the barn, they don't sit around listening to the boarders talk. The cameras are there for the safety of the horses. She could be very nice but watch out if you question something, she turns into a viper and demands to know why you are looking through the website. From what I have heard, the new president happens to be under her thumb and very rude as well. I found that the people on the board, basically do whatever she wants. At the time, my friends, (boarders) talked me into trying for the president position, so I went to a meeting, which basically was cancelled, because she had to go to the hospital. So, I was talking to one of the board members and told her that the boarders were willing to back me, well she somehow decided to turn it all around and make it sound like I said that as a threat, which was a lie! I was just trying to broach the idea that I was interested and that I had people that were willing to give me back-up in learning the position, Definitely not a pleasant place to board.

Elkhorn Equestrian Center - It was easier for the manager to feed this horse in the knee deep mud, rather then throw the hay outside where it was dry.

I received a call at 9 pm notifying me that she hadn't eaten her breakfast that day and wasn't looking well. When I arrived there, med kit in tow, it was obvious she was in an extreme amount of pain and had been down rolling for hours. I tried in vain to save her but had to make the choice to put her down by 8 am the next morning. I should have been notified HOURS earlier of her condition but, unfortunately, this lack of care had become commonplace after new management took over. No one even called me to see how she was doing after I trailered her off to the vet at midnight. The staff only found out what happened when my mom went to pick up my belongings. Stalls were often not cleaned, employees were known to fist fight on premises, my truck was damaged by an employees dog, personal items would go missing and so on. Most of the time I couldn't even find a responsible person to voice my complaints to because the new owner was always at the track. I should have sued them for negligence but I had just lost my younger brother two months earlier and the grief was just too much to handle. I simply didn't have any fight left in me. I was left with a $2,000 vet bill and my poor Abby died an excruciating death that most likely could have been prevented had I known earlier. I wouldn't board a stick horse here. STAY AWAY!!
