As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, I want to share our experience at Planet Gymnastics…read moreso other families are aware. Before enrolling my child in their Ninja class, I called ahead and was completely transparent that my child is autistic. I specifically asked if that would be an issue and if he would be welcome in the class. I was reassured that he absolutely would be. We attended a trial class and my child had a great time. Like many beginners trying something new, he needed help learning the technical movements, but he listened, followed directions, and tried hard. After the class, I spoke directly with the instructor and asked very clearly if my child would be a good fit before enrolling. I was told yes -- that he listened well and simply needed help with some of the technical skills. Then before the next class, I received a phone call from Planet Gymnastics saying they wanted my child to complete another "trial" specifically because he is autistic to make sure he was a good fit. This was surprising and upsetting since we had already discussed his diagnosis and he had already been approved for the class. We still attended the next class. There were only three students in the class, and like many beginners, my child needed the instructor to demonstrate the movements and guide him through them. He participated appropriately and tried his best. After the class, the instructor told me he had "misspoken" the week before and that my child required too much attention. I was then told my child might be a "safety concern," even though he demonstrated no unsafe behavior during either class. The only alternative they offered was a class for children with disabilities at 3:00 PM -- the exact time my child gets out of school, making it impossible for him to attend. What was most concerning was how quickly my child was singled out because of his autism after I had already been open about it from the very beginning. Instead of evaluating him as a beginner learning a new activity, it felt like assumptions were made based on his diagnosis. My child followed directions, tried hard, and simply needed help learning the skills -- which is exactly what instructors are there to teach. Children with autism deserve the same opportunities to participate in community activities alongside their peers. Families should not be told their child is welcome, encouraged to enroll, and then later treated differently because of a diagnosis that was disclosed from the start. I hope Planet Gymnastics reflects on how this situation was handled and works toward better understanding and inclusion for neurodivergent children and their families.

Its pretty simple, ive been doing it for years and im not even trained with kids. After that incident they told me she couldnt come back for 3 days. The day we brought her back she bit someone and they immediately kicked her out. Every preschool and daycare ive talked to since then told me they were wrong for doing that and shouldve handled it differently. I only wanted to bring my child here because she was familiar with a teacher from another daycare that recently started working there. 2nd problem, my children stopped going there in october of 2022 and this daycare was sending attendance forms to child action for november and december. My children were not going there at that time. So they were trying to get extra money from the county for my children that no longer attended that daycare. Idk if this was a racial thing or what but whatever it was, was a mistake because ive lived in Rancho my whole life, I know alot of people out here and I will always tell anyone with kids not to waste their time with this place. My kids go to kindercare now and they love it. So much different and they dont do illegal stuff! Its great! Beware genius kids and the people who work there.

Could have been because I signed her up for an age range that met her age (2 years) all the way up to 9 years, Mighty Mixers. Gymsters class might've been a more suitable one to start her off with first. It's been 2 months since we've been attending classes and my daughter absolutely LOVES coming here. It's great social interaction for my toddler and it's amazing to see how much more strength and skills she's obtained in a short amount of time. I appreciate the ability to easily switch up your class time, mark absent, and schedule make ups all online. The staff we've encountered so far are all fantastic! They really hone in to each child's personality and skills while still maintaining a way to be fun. And they're so approachable, especially to the shy kiddos. My daughter actually shouts "YAY" when I say we've arrived to My Gym. Talk about having an impact! Can't wait to see where we are with her skills in another few months.

Hosting a kid's birthday party can feel overwhelming, but they helped everything run smoothly so we could actually relax and enjoy the day. So I got to start the adventure with saying "no" cuz I just spent $40 for their entrance fees, then another $6 for THEIR grip socks even though we came wearing our own grip socks. Now I'm the bad guy cuz my kids see flashy expensive arcade games and want to play. The arcade games are so short and so expensive for the time you get to play, and no prizes to win, just money down the drain with the stupid pre paid cards that you don't know how much is left on it. The play structure has a super unsafe feature at the front, the Mario challenge wall, I saw multiple kids probably 8 year olds climb ABOVE the Mario structure where it's a full story high and they would be seriously hurt if they fell. My last complaint is that the staff did not keep a close enough eye on the gate to make sure kids don't escape. I saw the gate just hang open as the staff chatted with each other and not watching to keep it closed. On a positive note, the play structure itself is very large and a lot of exploring opportunities for toddlers and kids,lots of slides. Structures tall enough that parents can follow a two year old almost anywhere in the structure. The place has potential to be better and safer, but I'm sticking to Enchanted for my kids, it's safer for toddlers.
