Apparently you can't cycle in the spin room unless there is a class? That's like one class for 30 minutes the entire day. I was told by the person working the desk today that people destroy the property when it's left unlocked... uh... okay, whatever. Real dumb. Catalyst is undoubtedly the best place to lift in Fort Wayne for the price. It has all of the resources I need to lift and get ready for the baseball season. Their student discount makes it very affordable for a college student as well and I would recommend it to anyone! read more

Somehow my review was removed so I guess I will start over. Catalyst was a great neighborhood gym, the classes were great, the old classes AND the new classes have/had something for everyone. When the old (always full) classes and their instructors got pushed out of their timeslots that's when it felt like the long time members were not given a voice. There is nothing wrong with the new classes complementing the already established classes, that's progress. When you squash the old classes and can't find a way to work happily together, that's bullying and that's when it seems that you aren't in it for your members. read more

The group fitness classes are amazing. So welcoming to every new person. I have never been to a gym that is so welcoming and encouraging of every person who walks in the door. They let you know what is reasonable to expect on your first visit and where you will be if you are able to stick with it. There are so many different classes that you will definitely find something that works for you if you are willing to try. read more

I love all the improvements being made, new indoor track,new equipment and aerobic classes/with knowledgeable instructors. I absolutely love this gym. The prices are beyond reasonable, the selection of fitness classes is amazing, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Not to mention, I rarely feel crowded or uncomfortable here. There is adequate space and plenty of machines to accommodate gym-goers at any time of the day. I especially appreciate the two studio rooms that house fitness classes and act as a separate space for floor exercises when not in use. I made the change from another gym in the area, largely because I never felt comfortable or welcome at the other place. I made the best decision choosing to switch to Catalyst. read more

I'm a fan of Summit City Fitness. I actually live near this facility and use it several times a week. The people are friendly, the facilities are very well equipped. You don't have to be a jock to feel comfortable here, They have a great team of fitness trainers, and they are affordable. The place is always busy, yet there are plenty of weights and equipment. They have a staffed nursery. I only gave it 4 stars because the place does need some updating, particularly the mens locker area. Best gym in Fort Wayne! read more

I was a member at this gym for years when I lived in Fort Wayne. I never really realized what a gem it was until I moved to Colorado. They have Kevin- who is a lifer and will help you perfect your form or help you find the optimal supplement regimen. This place is also HUGE. It is worth probably double what you actually pay for it. It seems like the parking lot is always jam packed, but when you go in there is plenty of room. It's pretty remarkable what this gym has in store. I still come visit this gym every time I'm in town ($10 per visit which I gladly pay). Like the other reviews state- this place is extremely friendly and it isn't full of muscle heads constantly judging you. I appreciate the years of service from them, I hope they continue to thrive. read more

This location hasn't taken off in 30 years when it opened as a racquet club. It's changed hands and been updated or not with several of the owners. If you want a very close neighborhood gym at a low cost you sign up only with the specials and only as long as that lasts. read more

I've been a member of Summit City Fitness since 1987! Back then, I was looking for a reasonable workout facility that provided Childcare. I found Summit City Fitness and it was a Lifesaver!!! My sons were 1 and 3 yrs old at the time and I could put them in Childcare while I played Racquetball or exercised, weights, or just relax in the Whirlpool or Sauna!!! And, my sons eventually became members, also! Lots of exercise equipment, Trainers, Instructors, etc to keep you healthy!!! AND a friendly and family oriented atmosphere!! read more
