This place has amazing vibes, the staff is so incredibly kind, and the food and drinks are great!! This is a queer safe and sober space, with lots of events that are recurring. There are also lots of books and games to enjoy while you're there. There is also lots of free women and queer resources. I got the London fog which was fantastic! A little brunch with the girls. This place was easy to find and parking was a block up for me from the cafe. Ordered up front (register) and waited about ten minutes for a vanilla latte and sandwich. There are board game options to play at table. People seemed very friendly. read more

I'm so grateful for Catalyst Cafe reopening, and in a much larger space where they've really grown from local cafe to community space capable of hosting larger events and shows. This truly is a safe and inclusive third space, which is so important with how few third spaces there are anymore. I was happy to visit and see all the beautiful work in person. The cafe is currently only serving drinks at this time but I know food will be back in the near future. The menu is still accommodating for those who are dairy free or sugar free, and I know gluten free and vegan options will be available again when food is back. This place makes it really easy to bring a group of friends together who have different needs. Definitely do not go here! I'm not sure how this place has over four stars, maybe from old reviews? Ambiance was fine but the wait for food was 40 minutes and it was clearly frozen food. Salad was gross, rotten avocado and disgusting overdressed dressing. Sandwich looked like something a child would make at home, was served on crumbly stale bread. Honestly, the food looks like the chef suffers from depression. Only slightly redeeming feature was the drinks that were tasty but had three ice cubes that quickly melted. Stopped into this brilliant new cafe for a little nosh this afternoon and was not disappointed. Excellent cold brew, chocolate decadence hot cocoa (with rainbow sprinkles and marshmallows!!), heavenly lemon pound cake, and a sugared donut rounded out our order. I stopped in here today to get a sandwich and a drink, kind of checking the place out since I had never heard of it before. Absolutely love it. My food is delicious, they have vegan substitutes that no up charge, and gluten-free options. The owner is incredibly nice and respectful. There is a good amount of seeding for a small cafe in Everett, and a pretty good menu selection. I really hope this place thrives and is able to be open more hours and continues to support all of the LGBTQIA+ and ally communities in Snohomish county. read more

I went to the Catalyst Cafe for the first time today. It was quiet and clean and bright. I loved the decor. Especially the bathroom! The staff was gracious and got my order ready to go in good time. Everything was delicious and i especially loved the little handmade bags and charms that are at the counter. I had to buy some of those too! I went there for breakfast with a friend and enjoyed the atmosphere and most of the food. When I ordered their breakfast plate, I asked for eggs to be scrambled hard, but was told they could not cook eggs to order because they were "egg patties". When I was served, I received eggs that were fried over easy. I'm really not a fan of runny yolks, but I was enjoying the atmosphere and conversation with my friend and didn't feel like trying to send it back, so I ate it anyways. I can understand not wanting to deal with a bunch of weird special orders, but don't think having the eggs cooked a little longer for firm yolks should be difficult to accommodate. read more

Wonderful, cozy and inclusive local spot for amazing breakfast sandwiches and coffee. My fiancé and I took our first trip over to this cafe and were surprised with a live reading of some of my childhood favorite books. Their menu was familiar and comforting with a few twists. We got the Apple Cheese Bacon and Peanut butter (ACAB for short ) and the Breakfast bagel and coffee. All were freshly made and very tasty. I've been hearing good things about this place for a few months so today my friend and I decided to check it out. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I ordered an Iced Coffee and was naughty and had a pastry. Both were delicious. In fact, I would go as far to say the best coffee in Snohomish County! The pastry was very delicious as well. My friend purchased a Lavender latte and a bagel. He said the bagel was great. Very light and fluffy. The customer service was wonderful. I truly did feel like I belonged there. That is important because sometimes going to a new place you can get a weird vibe. Not here. It felt safe and inclusive and that's what they stand for. Catalyst serves excellent drinks & food while providing a welcoming, intentional space for the community to gather. Other notes of adoration: lots of outlets, wifi, very friendly neighborhood so the cafe has a variety of regulars that make you feel right at home, and it's rare if someone *isn't* making me laugh out loud while I'm hanging out at Catalyst. Recently the cafe had AC installed which prevents staff and guest from literally melting in this heat wave, and has given a reprieve for many sorrow souls trying to work, see friends, get out of the heat, and grab a coffee. I searched on Yelp for a coffee place that also had GF and vegan options and found this spot. I ordered an oat milk caramel latte that was wonderful, and a breakfast sandwich, with lots of substitutions. I have so many food allergies....I always appreciate when I order food someplace and I feel normal, and get to eat food that doesn't feel like I had to make a bunch of accommodations that just don't measure up to the real thing.
