They are fairly new (I believe they've been opened for a year), but have a lot to offer. Their prices are set by 3 prices (for used records). -Red stickers are $5.00 -Yellow stickers are $10.00 -Green stickers are $15.00 Some are priced individually if they don't have colored stickers. Which is very reasonable. They have .50 cent and $3.00 bins on the bottom of the shelves which are in fairly good condition and nice selection. Left with a ton of $3.00 finds! The store itself is very organized, categorized, not cluttered and overstocked. Easy to maneuver and get around. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. They don't have a listening station but willing to play a record if you want to test it out. They do sell used stereo equipment, CDs, cassettes, Newly pressed Vinyls, new record players, accessories, and T-shirt's with their logo. I'm so glad we stopped by. Crate digging was so much fun and left with a lot of great vinyls. Can't wait to go back!

I have a wonderful customer service story to share with all of you regarding this business:…read more During a trip out east to Dayton this past October, my husband and I visited the Bookery; I collect horror memorabilia on an amateur level and wanted to look around the store before we went into Foye's and I ate myself into a sugar coma. When we were in the back of the store, looking at movie posters, we found an original Clockwork Orange poster signed by Malcolm McDowell himself. A Clockwork Orange is my husband's favorite movie. Over the years, I have found an original opening night movie program and one other original poster for my husband, but to date I had not found an autographed piece of movie memorabilia. Later than evening, I found the Bookery online and emailed the store and asked if someone would put the poster aside for me, because I wanted to buy it. The problem is that I live in Washington State, and at this time in our lives, my husband lives in Dayton. I explained this in the email and asked if the store management could help me, especially seeing as my husband might have been in the middle of a move to Virginia. I received an email back from Tim telling me that they would help me in any way they could. Tim then told me that one of the store employees had purchased the poster himself, and that he was present when Mr. McDowell signed it, and so they wanted to make an authentication certificate for me. He also told me not to worry about shipping charges. I sent a money order for the price of the poster, and when he received it, Tim notified me. I decided to just have my husband drive down and pick it up himself, seeing as the sneaky b*stard figured out I'd purchased it for him for Christmas anyway. (How does he DO that?) When my husband picked it up, not only did Tim have the certificate ready, but he also had information on how to have the poster matted or framed so as not to decrease its value. I was so pleased to deal with this business. Tim went out of his way to help me make this purchase possible, and he was generous with tips on preserving the poster. None of this extra attention was necessary, not to mention that he was originally going to mail it for no extra cost to me. I wish more businesses were this kind to their customers. Tim, you and your staff are just awesome. I hope that we will all be able to relocate to Ohio someday so I can spend the rest of my paychecks on Fangoria back issues and candy. Big hug!

I think realistically they've just found what works and it's pretty cut and dry. Can't fault them for that, but it definitely feels like customer and business at times and there can be a lack of personal touch. But when you have a selection that they have? Who cares, this place has everything you need plus way more. This is pretty much my go to spot. Some sound barriers, acoustic panels, or better room separation would make a huge difference. I also wish the store had a clearer focus. They seem to be trying to do a little bit of everything, but some areas feel underdeveloped. They are not really a strong destination for comics; the miniature painting supplies are limited, the other items need better category separation, and the TTRPG offerings could be stronger. Their Sunday D&D one-shots also sell out quickly, and they have in-store gaming waiting lists, which shows there is demand, but not enough space or availability. Pricing can also be on the high side for certain items compared to other options. The store is expanding, which could be a great opportunity. However, I hope the expansion improves the actual play experiences and gives more attention to TTRPG events, sound control, and product focus. More space alone will not solve the issue if the store continues trying to cover too many categories without doing any one of them especially well.
