This is a fully stocked store with any comic book or game you could ever think of. That said, I didn't find the one staff member to be welcoming. He seemed to be too busy working on his computer. As the only customers in the store, I hoped he would say hello and ask if we needed anything. Also, although I am not an expert on specialty games, I felt the prices of the games were high. These guys rule. Day in, day out, always switching things up as inventory or trends change. I bought comics from these two when Dark Star was still the only name in town. And if you have a question, literally the only thing you have to do is walk up to whoever's working and politely ask for what you want. read more

I recently sold my comic collection from the 30's to the 70's and old magazines from the 50's to the 90's to Super Fly Comics & Games. I delt entirely with the owner, Tony Barry. What made this experience very nice was the way Tony explained what was going to happen from the very beginning. When i had questions, he stopped what he was doing and answered the question thoroughly. He explained why some comics were worth more than others. The condition, the artist, introduction of a character and many others. When i was given the total for the collection which was very good, there was no pressure put on me to sell right away or ever. They are the only store, in the area, that has DCC TTRPG books. I noticed they carry a lot of other RPGs as well. The board game selection is huge and so is the comic area. Great place. I'll be back soon. read more

Excellent selection of comics, including current issues. I didn't browse the used comics much, but the ones I looked at had fair prices. On the down side, the store is not family-friendly. They had speakers for background music, and they had x-rated music playing, with sexually explicit lyrics. If you are looking for a comic store to take your kids to...this isn't it. This is it. The best comix shop ever. Guys are super nice (Jared hug special), and the atmosphete inviting. They dont have exactly what your looking for? They will do their best to get it for you or point you in a different direction for gift ideas that are comparable. The staff actually is knowledgable about comics and games , not like bookery ( their staff only knows oldschool stuff and couldnt answer any ofy questions on things I was thinking about buying) Come and come frequent! I have a great love for this store. For years I had a hold account for my comics there. I was customer from day one when they opened. I knew them from darkstar bookstore days. Their love for comics and the genre is real. Things have changed over the years. I can no longer afford the comic holds but I do visit several times a year. I bring my family every year for free comic book day the first saturday in the month of May. The joy of the employees on that day is contagious. They are the most generous of all the places I have visited on FCD. I make sure to give them my business because of this. I have sold several long boxes of comics and felt he was fair with me. I am not sure where the comic business is going but I will keep being a customer because of the store's dedication. read more

I was making a random trip through Yellow Springs and I drove past this shop and literally pulled a double take, parked, and went in. I had no idea that Yellow Springs had a comic shop, not to mention a great, hidden gem of a shop at that! On entering, I found myself in a room full of new issues covering the walls, back issues well organized and easy to search through, toys, collectibles, and all kinds of other items that you'll love to find. Even our 12 year old had a blast going through the clearance bins and finding gems and new books to get into! First up, my children love coming here. THat is enough for me. While I have to drive out of my way to go here, I always feel like family as soon as I walk through the door. This is my favorite comic store. The store has EVERYTHING. Huge amounts of back issues are set out with the new releases on top so if you want issue 1-4 and the new 5, you can get them all on one shelf without having to go digging. There is a good selection of alternate covers, tons of trade paperbacks and all kinds of collectibles as well. I never really want to leave and would probably spend many hours and much of my life savings in here if I didn't eventually reign it in and haul my purchases up to the counter. Just got back from a road trip to Ohio with the intent to check out several comic stores in the Dayton area. This store had been recommended to me by a toy store owner in Xenia. I collect mainly comics from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. They had a decent selection of Archie, Classics Illustrated and Harvey titles. Their selection of Marvel and DC titles seemed a little sparse and what they had was extremely overpriced. An example of this was a "return" issue of Iron Man #9 that was priced at $25.00. A return issue, for those that don't know, was a distributed comic that had that the title ripped off and returned for credit. Usually this meant the upper third of the cover was missing which was the case with this comic. This comic has a current (2020-2021) Overstreet guide value of $7.00 in "Good" condition (this particular book would be worth about a 1/4 of that price). I asked the store owner about the book and he became very offended and accusatory stating, "Your asking asking me to undercut myself." I did find a small stack of older independent books to purchase that were priced reasonably. If you're looking for newer comics from the last 30 years, this store has a fair selection. If you're looking for reasonably priced Marvels and DCs from 60s and 70s, I would skip this store. read more

As a newbie to the comic book world, I had previously gotten bad interactions at OTHER stores except this one. The guys here are awesome, very nice, very welcoming, and super helpful. They have helped me find awesome stories to follow and actually pay attention to my comic book interests. I won't buy from any other store. read more
