I brought in my wife's 2011 Jetta for an AC recharge after making an appointment on a Thursday…read moreafternoon to drop it off Friday morning, May 16. I dropped the car off at 10 AM and was asked if I needed it back the same day. I said no, I wasn't in a rush. Later that day, just before closing around 5:50 PM, they called to let me know they wouldn't be able to get to the car until Monday. I was fine with that since I understand shops get busy. Monday comes around and I don't hear anything all day. I get a call around 5:45 PM saying they tested the AC twice and it was "blowing cold." They said they'd test it again in the morning. They also mentioned adding UV dye to the system, supposedly to check for leaks. From what I gathered, they probably didn't actually check for leaks since they felt the air was cold enough. On Tuesday, May 20, I received a text at 10 AM saying the car was ready for pickup and that the shop closed at 6. I showed up around 1 PM and spoke with Jesse, who told me they tested the AC a third time that morning and it was blowing cold. I paid \$270, got an itemized receipt showing they added R134a, and left. As I left the shop and turned onto Hwy 90 back to San Antonio, I rolled the windows down, turned the AC on full blast, and rolled the windows back up after about a minute. It took about 15 minutes for the car to go from warm to cool, and it never really got cold. Honestly, it felt the same as before. There was no noticeable difference, and I feel like I wasted my time and money. I wish they had just checked for a leak and tested the car during the hotter part of the day when the system is under real pressure. Testing early in the morning or in the shade does not reflect how the AC performs in real driving conditions (they said that they drove it but again, I don't know when that was exactly). If they tested it three times and still think that air is "blowing cold," then something's off. I will most likely not be bringing my wife's car back to this place. I expected better communication, more accurate diagnostics, and results that matched what I was told.

We brought our car in due to a great earlier experience at Goose…read more We ended up spending $175 to try and find a leak in the power steering system. They "power washed" under the car but could not find the leak. However, when we brought the car home is it leaking as it was before we brought it in. Disappointed that the issue was not resolved.

I have gone to Seymour's for 20+ years anytime I had a vehicle issue. Never went back to them with…read morethe same issue. They always took great care of me. Luckily I have been fortunate with no issues but we had a diagnosis for a large job on another vehicle that I wanted a second opinion on because I had a gut feeling. Lo and behold. Seymour's found the root of the cause and fix that which ended up saving me a ton of money. I will forever be grateful to them and will always lean on them when I am in need for vehicle help. Seymour's rocks. My mechanic shop is better than yours!!!

1 STAR - AVOID AT ALL COSTS…read more I trusted Seymour's Garage with my primary work truck for an engine rebuild that cost me $9,677.11. What followed has been one of the most stressful and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a repair shop. Within weeks of picking up the truck, it began losing oil at an alarming rate. I had to return it, where they admitted an oil leak related to their rebuild--but still charged me for oil. The problem never stopped. The engine was clearly defective from the start. On December 17, the truck broke down again in Austin and had to be towed back to San Antonio. After another mechanic advised there was a serious internal engine failure, Seymour's took the truck back on December 19, repeatedly telling me for weeks that this was being handled under warranty and that I needed to "be patient." After months of assurances, I was suddenly told the warranty would not be honored and that I would need to buy a completely new engine. No explanation. No documentation. Just a reversal of everything they had told me. During my most recent phone call with Matthew, the situation turned outright hostile. He became aggressive, told me to "come and get your f**ing truck,"* and then hung up on me. At the same time, he threatened to leave my truck outside on the street, even though it is not operable and is still in their possession. As of today, they still have my truck. Because of Seymour's Garage, I've suffered: Nearly $10,000 lost on a failed engine rebuild Loss of my work vehicle Towing costs Rental vehicle expenses Property damage from oil leaks Business interruption and lost income Extreme stress caused by false assurances and abusive conduct This shop took my money, failed to stand behind their work, misled me about warranty coverage, and then responded with threats and profanity instead of accountability. If you value your vehicle, your livelihood, or basic professional treatment--do not bring it to Seymour's Garage.
