Bey & Associates CPAs PC - Kim Bey is an amazing personal and small business accountant in DC!

I got Kim's name from my financial planner who helped deal w/ some finance issues after my dad passed. Anyway, he didn't know Kim but someone on his team suggested Kim. Scheduling was fine, I was able to get in relatively quickly. When I introduced myself, I said I got her name from my financial adviser. She asked me who he was, and when I said his name, she went on about how well she knows him, and it's great to work with one of his clients. I should've known she was a shyster then. I didn't say anything and just nodded my head, it was during work hours and I just wanted our mtg to be as efficient as possible. Anyway, she looks over my statements, and looks up at me and says "well haven't you done well for yourself". Um, yeh, my dad died and left me some money. Aren't I lucky? I was pretty offended, it's like she was sizing up my financial situation in some sort of creepy, greedy way. After reviewing my paperwork, she told me it'd be $1200 to file. I was shocked, but it was late in the season and I needed to get my taxes filed. She said "I'm not the cheapest, but I'm very good", actually, she should've said, "I'm a total rip-off but at least I fill out the correct papers and submit them on time." I didn't learn anything new, I didn't save any extra money, I simply had the correct forms filled out and submitted on time. From looking at the other reviews, it's pretty clear that $1200 is her base fee, which is INSANE. I highly encourage anyone to look around even a little bit, and you'll easily find other CPA's that will give you great advice for a quarter of the price. Oh, if you file taxes w/ Kim, you get a login to a website where you can upload additional forms. And you'll get to download your taxes at a later date. Wow, so worth it.

I agree with Marina H. I had the same experience. Kim seemed very personable when I first met her…read moreand it seemed like I would be taken care of. She listed her many years of experience and the fact that all of the returns are checked by two different people. When I mentioned that the $1200 was high, she said that the cost was essentially a retainer for her services for the entire year (e.g. tax planning, answering questions, etc). The same thing that happened to Marina happened to me. While she's responsive through email and phone before she has your money, you have to hunt her down after you fork over the funds. It became so bad that I put in a weekly calendar reminder to either call or email Kim. Even after I filed my taxes, I would try to contact her with questions and she never got back to me. I told myself that I lost a lot of money and need to move on. Then I had to revisit this frustrating exchange with Kim when it came to getting my old tax return for a mortgage application. She was so bad about returning my emails and calls that I started numbering my emails in the subject line. Since the mortgage process is so sensitive to timing, i made it a point to email and call every single day. Finally, I heard back from her and she said that her uncle, sister-in-law and nephew died, and she had a hard time dealing with it. I'm sorry to be callous, but she is running a business. We are not friends and frankly if that was the case, one would think that if this were a professional business, she would make arrangements to have someone answer emails and phone calls to tell clients that she would not be available for personal reasons. I've been down this road of non-response from her before, so I was reluctant to believe any of it. To summarize, if you are looking to do an individual tax return, look somewhere else. You don't get what you pay for with her.

But after interviewing me and taking meticulous notes on my wishes, she helped me understand that especially because I own a small business, a Will was not sufficient enough to honor my wishes. And this was no upsell. It was a lesson about how little power a Will has and how much it doesn't cover. And I think most lay people like me would be surprised too. It's not just about who you want your deceased grandmother's jewelry to go to. What would you do if you were still alive, but unable to make decisions for yourself? If you own a small business, what's going to happen to it if you die? What if you have no wife, siblings or children, such there would be not be an obvious or lawful choice as a beneficiary? And if a Court had to ultimately decide for you, would you want some random Judge making these decisions - all because you didn't want to spend the time and money to create the needed official legal documents that ratify your wishes when you were still alive? Ms. Arnett was willing to negotiate a very fair cost for drafting these docs and was more than patient with me when some life events caused me to take a really long time to review and proofread the drafts of all of the docs, even though she prepared them in a timely manner. And when it was time to sign all of the documents, she included two of her own assistants, necessary to serve as two witnesses, with one being a notary public. I give BT Arnett my highest recommendation!

They are incredibly professional, always responsive, and consistently keep me updated throughout the entire tax preparation process. Their attention to detail and clear communication give me complete confidence that my taxes are being handled accurately and on time. It's rare to find a team that is both efficient and personable, but Dimov Tax truly delivers on both fronts. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable tax accountant.

I've been a client of Dimov Tax for nearly 10 years, but my recent experience has been extremely…read moredisappointing. During the past five years, I've noticed a clear shift in how the firm operates--communication has declined, staff turnover has increased, and overall service quality has dropped. After paying nearly $1,800 upfront for my 2025 business and personal tax returns, I experienced over a month of delays with little to no clear communication. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly asked for information I had already provided, which showed a lack of internal coordination. On top of that, I was asked to sign an engagement letter late in the process, which was not properly delivered or explained. As a client of nearly 10 years, it made no sense to receive a generic engagement letter outlining services I've long been familiar with. There also appears to be a high turnover of staff. I was reassigned multiple times, and each new person seemed unfamiliar with my account, leading to redundant questions and confusion about my LLC structure. It felt like I had to restart the process repeatedly. It's also extremely difficult to get George Dimov on the phone, and emails often go unanswered. At this point, he comes across as an absentee owner, with much of the work seemingly outsourced to staff abroad who are not aligned or familiar with long-term clients. For a firm handling time-sensitive financial matters, that level of disconnect is frustrating. Even more concerning, there was a separate incident involving a former employee, Bob Liu, who went rogue and took client information, including mine. He processed one of my tax returns independently, and to this day I have never received a copy of that return. I had to notify George myself, as he was not aware of the situation. This directly impacted me by delaying a construction loan process I was pursuing with a bank. Most recently, after having over three months to prepare my returns, the firm still filed my tax return incorrectly. That was the final straw for me, and I ultimately decided to terminate my relationship with them. I also ended my payroll services with them. Despite paying $100 per month automatically for 38 months, they claimed I owed an "outstanding balance of $5,700 for 38 months of services." This was completely false, as I have proof of every payment. This situation highlights the disorganization of the firm and the constant turnover of staff who clearly are not aligned or aware of long-term client accounts. Overall, I can no longer recommend this firm, especially for clients with multiple entities or complex tax situations. P.S. The reviews here feel misleading. I've noticed that the owner is quick to respond publicly to reviews, yet does not follow up with his actual clients. If you're considering working with this firm, feel free to reach out--I'd be happy to discuss my experience further and share supporting documentation. As a result of the delays and mishandling of my account, I was also charged a late-filing penalty by the IRS.
