    Holey Mackerel - Mangonada (NA)

My review is not for the golfing or the games but for the actual bar and inside experience. My…read morefriends and I were looking for something to do during the last dreary months of winter and whoolah! Found something online saying they were having a Mardi Gras themed party with Static Chicken playing. Okay, sounds legit. The social media posts said the band played from 7-10 so we decided to get there at 6. Never being there prior, I was a little surprised to pull in and see like 5 cars. I thought well, it's not really a destination bar and maybe more peeps will show up for the band. They did, tho not too many, and they brought their kids too lol. So it's a family friendly spot if you want to see a band there in the future. They have some tables, old school Nintendo boxes, funny decor. It was low key for sure which I do like, but also kinda too loud to hear your friends and family once the band took over the small area. They don't serve food but there's a food truck outside which was operating. Three of us got the $10 Fancy Grilled Cheese which was pretty good and a lot of food. It came with plenty of fries that are sadly way too salty. I'd order it again but next time ask for less salt if possible. They were out of the veggie burger option which shows as Impossible online, bummer. Another friend tried their blackened mahi mahi with dirty rice and liked it but thought the portion was small for the $14 price. I wouldn't say it was a Mardi Gras party because they didn't offer us beads and the decor was minimal for the event but that's okay. The servers were nice and quick but seemed unexperienced but I can't put my finger on how or why. The sign outside said the band played from 8-11 so that was annoying because we would have arrived later. We stayed until about 9 and left for another bar. Another fun thing that is not their fault, we were outside about to go to the food truck when a man ran up and asked us for money and a smoke because he was just released from jail and needed bus fare. I guess the Greenfield police station is across the street and he was released without a way home. I'm sure they don't like that for business but my friend eventually gave a him a few bucks and he left. I'd try this place out again for some golfing and maybe if another band I liked played but it's not near my house so not a place I'd be often.

Holey Mackerel! This place is amazing and such a hidden gem…read more I've driven past here so many times to the point it ended up on my "want to go" list. I went tonight with a friend, and we had an absolute blast! The vibes inside give 80s nostalgia means a seaside shack, and I'm IN LOVE with it. For two of us to play mini golf, it was $22, which is reasonable for the area & 18 holes. The course is not the most accessible with some rocks and steps along the paths, but it's a fun course to play regardless! There were misting stations across the playing path, which is nice for the summertime. As we were getting ready to leave, we saw a flyer mentioning music bingo on Thursdays at 7pm. We stuck around for the few minutes until 7, and I'm so glad we did. It was so fun. For $1, you get three rounds or more of bingo, depending on length of game play. Our rounds tonight were 80s hits, songs from movies, and bar classics. The emcee was amazing and friendly. I got a Carbliss from the bar, and my friend got a non-alcoholic frozen drink called the Mangonada. We were both cackling at the headers in the menu. Calling wine "Mom Juice" is extremely hilarious and adds so much character to this place. The bartender was kind and knowledgable too. If you want to test your luck, you can pay to spin the wheel of shots. Forewarning: malort has its own spot on the wheel. There's also arcade games and batting cages here. I will wholeheartedly be coming back to this place. This might be my new go-to bar!

The staff is friendly. We had a few issues with our lane and had to reset it a few times. Recreational use seems to be very common here. It was more noticeable as it was getting later in the day.

Worst experience. Made a reservation on their website for 5:30pm on a Saturday. As it is a holiday…read moreweekend, we scheduled in advance. When we arrived, there was a long line of people waiting for service at the front counter. A mountain of shoes have accumulated on the counter, presumably due to no one being assigned to man the desk. We did not see anyone come to the front for 30 minutes! When someone did come out, we were told there were no lanes available at all and the kitchen was closed because they were backed up. So... what was the point of making a reservation?! The icing on the cake was hearing the manager/supervisor say out loud to an employee clocking in (when someone finally did show up) that there was a $10,000 large party about to show up where he would rather focus their attention. Aren't all paying customers valued? The staff was clearly flustered and overwhelmed. Their attempts to pacify the clearly agitated crowd was filled with attitude. I felt like we were inconveniencing them. Maybe close off reservations on your website next time, or position staff better. Leaving the front unattended for that long is ridiculous. Wish it was a better experience cause the place looked really nice.

They have an arcade upstairs that kept the kids entertained for a bit. The funds go quickly in this arcade though! The food was good. I ordered their Friday special, a 3 piece fish fry. It was delicious! The batter was very crispy and the fish was a good size! I ordered their Cajun fries and it was delicious. My husband ordered their shrimp and steak fajitas. It came out sizzling and smelling sooo good! The steak was tender and delicious but the shrimp was a bit rubbery.

This is my second review of the ayce brunch, with aycd mimosas. This time it was packed in there,…read moreprobably due to the fact that they had a Groupon Special that ends soon (which we used also). Breakfast and lunch fare was pretty standard,. Laid out on a steam table. Scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, pancakes, french toast, bbq ribs, mac & cheese, pasta, marinara, garlic bread, breakfast and regular pizza, and a dessert station which included cheesecake, brownies and fresh fruit. New this time was a cooked to order omelet station. For the mimosas , Bloodys, and Screwdrivers you get a pour of the Brut Champagne (probably the cheapest brand but it was actually good), or Vodka and they have a serve yourself mixer bar which includes spicy or regular bloody mary mix, orange juice, cranberry juice or lemonade. I chose the cranberry mimosas. The only downfall was that like any other steam table buffet some of the food was only cool to lukewarm. Excellent service as always

It doesn't seem they've made any updates over the years. We came on a Saturday night with a big group of people (a handful of families/kids), and boy was this place packed! Our group just added to the chaos, but needless to say the community loves this spot! The big ol' organ at the forefront is a fun feature, and everyone was loving the music. They also have a good size arcade that keeps the kids very happy. I was a fan of the ordering system here too- you go up to the counter/bar on their own accord and submit what you'd like, and then they give you a ticket with your order number. Up on the wall is a giant light up sign and you simply look out for when your number is lit up and that means your food is up. Given that pizza is the thing here, that's what we went for. Everyone was pleased with it! I can see the appeal here, but I can also see the pov of folks who aren't the biggest fans. It's a certain kind of place, and with kids, it was a good time!
