Small but perfectly formed, possibly one of the loveliest views from a cafe or tea-rooms anywhere.
See the review of Dartmouth castle itself - the Tea Rooms are a small building adjacent to the car park. I do recall staggering into them after a night on the shandy, hoping for something to cure a hangover. A pot of their fresh made tea and a mountain of hot buttered toast usually did the trick.
These little tea-rooms are clean, bright, superbly run and serve everything to set off a perfect summer's afternoon.
Teas, scones (delicious) hot buttered toast (vital) and home-made cakes, along with filled rolls, all make for a perfect snack to enjoy whilst looking out over the bay.
When the sun is shining on the waters of the River Dart t's just so beautiful.
If you enjoy the castle, then take time out for tea & scones at the tea-rooms to complete the experience. read more
