There I store items not presently needed but not ready for the garbage heap. Sebastian was the first to answer my call and his ideas captured me into rejecting other later applicants. After the stairs came the wonderful suggestion of reconstructing one section of the attic. In this space I could walk standing up and a beautiful bedroom and office was constructed. The work was done quickly and professionally. By Christmas I had an extra bedroom to accommodate my many overnight visitors, particularly grandchildren. The transformation is magical. Here is a picture of before and after. I am hoping to continue with this construction in some months under Sebastian's visionary supervision

I hired Sea Beast Design & Construction (Sebastian Barbagallo) as General Contractor for a…read moreresidential project in Fair Lawn, NJ under a written contract in March 2026.. I paid Sea Beast $68,190 against the contract and separately paid $17,176 directly for materials I had no contractual obligation to pay -- $85,366 total -- yet MULTIPLE major scope items remained incomplete or not meaningfully progressed with only weeks left on the schedule. These included the porticos, exterior brick samples, simple framing and finish details, unable to install simple door hardware, the HVAC condenser pad (the condenser itself was paid for but not on site), step repointing and masonry, main electrical service, exterior hardware, interior doors (despite a $3,000 advance for them), and the kitchen, which was never properly coordinated, ordered or released. Sea Beast also failed to provide the conditional lien waivers, a simple bill that wasn't a demand for money that needs to be today which was required with each progress payment, and continued to demand additional payment while materially overbilled relative to work completed. I issued a formal Notice of Performance Issue on April 4, 2026 requiring a written cure plan, manpower and sequencing plan, procurement status, revised schedule, lien waivers, and payment reconciliation. Sea Beast acknowledged receipt but did not provide the required cure documentation. I issued a Notice of Default on April 8, 2026 under the contract's default provision, which required cure commencement within 36 hours. The required cure was not provided. I terminated the contract for default and am pursuing damages. I would not hire Sea Beast Design & Construction again and would not recommend them for residential general contracting work. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.

Flood remediation? Save yourself a lot of trouble and headaches, find a reputable company. I had…read morethe misfortune of selecting this company to do renovations in my condo that had experienced a devastating flood. Thinking there would be some economy of scale to the work, I had LA Design undertake a kitchen and master bath remodel with the remediation. The only thing this company does promptly is issue invoices. The work took 7 months to complete -- 4 more months than promised. The remediation and renovation work was terrible. Most of the kitchen cabinets were measured incorrectly and had to be re-ordered and re-installed. The brand new flooring throughout the 900 sq ft apartment was the first project completed and was, despite my repeated pleas to protect the flooring, significantly damaged with deep gouges, chips and paint splatter after being exposed to months of exposure to tools, appliances, trash and careless laborers. The living room was painted in 3 different shades of white as every day laborer and painter would just buy the white paint that was most convenient for them to pick up in the morning on their way to the job. The kitchen cabinets were never "finished" -- trim was left raw and unpainted. The plumbing work was performed with a degree of outstanding incompetence. All of the walls and ceilings that needed to be replaced due to the flood were installed with a staggering degree of sloppiness. The building maintenance team at Riva Pointe was staggered by the monumental incompetence of this company. Worst experience with a contractor -- EVER.

Larry Sr came over the same day as we called to assess and give us a quote. Not only was it reasonable, but was able to use our original timeline to get everything done. Not to mention it was all done faster than the original contractor told us too. The original team was 2 guys, told us it would take 15K over our budget and over 6+ weeks. LA came in just on budget and got everything done in 13 business days. The guys they have are incredibly attentive to detail and were willing to go back in and fix up anything that was slightly off too. We also had to pivot a few minor things because the original floor plan ended up not being ideal and Larry's guys made it all happen, listening to us, making sure we felt heard and were not stressed. We are absolutely in love with the final result. While construction is definitely always stressful, LA helped reduce that as much as possible and we can't wait to use them again soon.

The size of our order and the variety of windows gives us a good glimpse into the operation. Based on that experience, I can say the company is not run well, and we experienced serious issues with their integrity. Our project was during the pandemic (June-Dec 2020) when supply challenges and other issues on the home front were challenging. During a crisis one's true self shows in how they respond and treat people. We had many vendors that delayed our project, particularly given supply pressures. Most were really good about sharing their challenges in an honest way, and we reciprocated with patience and understanding. Unfortunately, the owner of WDI was not this type of person. He was dishonest about placing our order when he said he would and then provided new timelines every week to cover up his mistakes. It's possible some of the delay may have been out of this control--but given the number of errors he made (window color, glass type, metal type), it was hard to trust him. Never once did he own up to his mistakes and empathize with the impact it would have on our family. Ultimately, he could never get over his ego to say, "I'm sorry, I messed up." If he had, it could have been easier to trust him on all the other issues he had during the project. It's possible he faced some unique challenge more severe than our other 10+ suppliers, but it seemed he is accustomed to operating with many errors. I wish the experience was different and wish anyone that works with WDI more success. He did ultimately deliver our windows and corrected most of the errors--but the effort we spent and the time we lost on our project was painful, costly, and unnecessary. Consider PrinceWd.com or Northeastco.com. Both companies had tried to help save our project but we were too far in with WDI.

UPDATED REVIEW: We had the pleasure of Windows & Doors, Inc…read more to replace the windows in our condo. We needed wood, double-hung windows painted a specific color in order to adhere to the Historic Preservation Committee guidelines. We had a wonderful team for our window installation. Everyone we worked with from John with the initial estimation during our closing, to Shawn who walked us through the process and took measurements, to Pete, Ed, Ronnie, Ray and Ron were incredible and friendly. The team worked efficiently and it was easy to tell they were very experienced in their craft. They put down protective coverings on the floors and over the furniture and left our condo neater than we had it when they arrived. Pete took the time to show me how the windows worked and the team listened to my questions and addressed any (minor) concerns I had before they headed out. And, I can't believe they worked through lunch. It was a long day and they plowed through and worked diligently. Each of the guys was very polite and friendly. Though, of course, they were welcome to use the restroom, they each asked before they went in. They were incredibly organized, always having the next step ready and set up for the team to execute. In addition, they neatly bundled all of the debris so when the truck arrived on site to take it away, it was loaded in the truck 1,2,3. I would absolutely recommend the Windows & Doors, Inc. team to anyone looking to replace or repair their windows. It was a pleasure working them! PRE-INSTALLATION REVIEW: I was referred to Windows and Doors by the owner of another unit in the Condo building where I'm buying. I'm currently under contract and in the home inspection negotiations phase of the purchase process. The condo building where I'm buying is required to adhere to Jersey City's Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) standards and this made it a challenge to find the suitable window solution. That is, until I called Windows and Doors, Inc. I spoke with Phil at 8:30am and asked if there was any way someone could meet my fiancé at 10:30am that same day. We only had a small window of time in which we were allowed access to the unit to take measurements and secure estimates for the work we want completed. Phil let me know that while the team had an appointment that morning, he could squeeze in an appointment for us exactly when we were hoping they could meet us. Even with the very small amount of lead time, John H. and Shawn arrived on time and met my fiancé to get the measurements. They were very professional and courteous and let us know they would provide an estimate the following day. I received the estimate at 7:41am on the day they promised to deliver it; well under 24 hours from the time of measurement. I truly appreciate Window and Doors, Inc's responsiveness and look forward to working with them once we close on the condo.
