Service at the restaurant at dinner was off but much better at breakfast. While we loved our stay, this would be a tough place for someone with mobility concerns. Most of the rooms involve a lot of stairs to get to as they are built into a hill.

From the moment we entered the gorgeous doors to the front desk, we were in love. The lobby era has such a cool vibe, I would live there. A small fireplace, free water, coffee and tea starting at 6:30AM, and a heavenly scent. The staff was so helpful and carried our bags to the room (and later let us store our bags on our last day when we went to tastings). The property is stunning, with well thought out flowers, fire pits, stained glass, etc. It was one of the most unique spots we stayed in hotel wise in a very long time. The pool onsite was fabulous and cleaned well (though hot tub was slightly slippery so beware). The meeting room was gorgeous for the evening free tastings and everywhere you looked or sat, you found well thought out details. Even the restrooms near the pool had a good smell, were clean, and had higher end soap dispensers, etc. Now for the rooms - super large, cool well on hotter days, and oh man they get so dark at night, you think you are sleeping in a cave. TV worked well and had ton of channels. Coffee maker, small fridge, small fireplace included, and all rooms have a balcony or deck with up to 4 chairs in ours. Rooms were pretty soundproof and the beds were so comfy and large (though wish the pillows were slightly firmer). Free water in the room upon arrival too and plastic glasses to bring pool side. They had comfy robes, a fan in the bathroom, and a little shelf for soap AND for the shampoo and conditioner. The mirror in the bathroom allowed space to put stuff inside and there was also a dedicated spot in the room with mirror and counter space to get ready on. I know some of these things may seem small but honestly, this level of attention to detail is so appreciated. We got great sleep both of our 2 nights. We greatly appreciated the morning breakfast- onsite staff was so kind and I think the scrambled eggs were the best we got in a hotel restaurant ever. Even their simple onsite coffee surprised me, not being too bitter or acidic. Definitely get the model english muffins and the granola bowl! They also have free parking and a small onsite store to buy wine, tide to go pens, etc. Overall a fabulous time and many walkable wineries nearby! Don't hesitate to give it a try.

The lovely host took me on quick tour and had someone help me with my bags upstairs. You would be surprised how rarely that happened on our trip through Napa. The room was gorgeous. I owned my own cleaning business for 10 years and the level of cleanliness was unparalleled. The carpet was thick and the bed sheets did not have that bleach rough texture you often find in any hotel these days. The courtyard offered a pool and an amazing hot tub surrounded by lounge areas and fire pits. We spent the evening in the hot tub looking at stars and full moon, drinking some wine we picked up along the way. No glass allowed in pool area but they provided plastic wine glasses. The breakfast was sit down style and you selected a few options as part of the package. You could add on for a fee. The English muffin is to die for and domes from local bakery. We stopped at Oakville Grocery on our way and had a nice little charcuterie in our room to snack on. Highly recommend as a stop for treats it's only 6 minutes away. We walked to dinner at Rutherfords Grill that's just across parking lot. You can easily go to the winery near by as well. Overall we were just two girls having a great road trip but I'd recommend this for honeymoon as or romantic getaway as well. Perfect!!

Greeted with wine and cheese, a tour though the gardens and a stop to take in the breathtaking view, we were guided to our room, a very large room with a hammock off the room in a little alcove that was Tovar's and surrounded by trees, overlooking the vast scenery of the many vineyards below. The bed almost swallowed you whole and helped drifting off to sleep so easy. Breakfast was served in our room and by a picture window one morning and the second, we took it outside and watched the sunrise with our coffee and croissants. They were so accommodating and helped us make all reservations for dinner and helped us find everything we needed or didn't know we needed for our trip. We will definitely be back! The receptionist offered to give us a tour of the common areas before she took us to our room. First, she showed us a cute little outdoor area with a large frame for photo taking opportunities. Next, she took us to a separate barn space, which guests have access to 24-7. It is heated, has snacks, drinks, and games. The property only has six rooms, so I'd imagine that if you reserved a block of rooms for a wedding or something, the barn would be an awesome space for you to hang out with friends. We loved our room! It was surprisingly spacious and had a balcony with a nice sitting area. Had it not been raining, I absolutely would have spent some time out there enjoying the outdoor space. The room decor was modern, the room itself was very clean and must have been updated/renovated recently. There was a little kitchen area with a sink, a fridge, and the nicest Nespresso machine that I have ever encountered in a hotel. The fridge comes stocked with an extra bottle of water, two sodas, and a chilled bottle of white wine available for purchase. There are also plates, glasses, and silverware available for your use. The bathroom was so awesome that it deserves a paragraph of its own. It was enormous, with heated floors, a full size bathtub, and a large shower. The shower faucet is located near the shower entrance, not under the shower head like most showers, so you can adjust the temperature to your liking without getting doused with a stream of ice-cold water. The towels were enormous, looked brand new, and there were robes and slippers too. A couple of other nice room touches-wine bottles available for purchase, a remote control for the room blinds, and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise- they deliver Bouchon pastries to your room, along with some fresh fruit and orange juice. I really do appreciate the little things hotels do to try to make your stay feel more luxurious and special, and for us, this amenity was the icing on the cake of what was already a wonderful stay. I'd highly recommend staying at the Setting Inn, particularly if you prefer to stay somewhere with a little more character and charm than the larger hotel chains.

Upon arrival, we were shown the property by both Laura and were able to check in early once Carlos arrived - both were super hosts. The property itself was meticulously manicured and well take care of. There are cottages and separate rooms, available within the house itself - rooms are located upstairs. The rooms themselves are nicely decorated with enough storage for clothing, in-room kitchenette w/plates, glasses, cutlery, small fridge and various drink choices - wine is additional cost and well noted. The bathrooms contain both shower and deep soaking tubs. The grounds themselves are so cool, you can stay in the property all day and have a blast. Laura will leave fruit and pasties outside your door daily - everything was yummy ! There is a separate barn area, which acts as an outside living room, and is stock piled with seating, snacks, TV, board games, guitar, restrooms and exercise equipment ! There is also an additional gazebo seating area with a water feature and lastly you are surrounded by vineyards. What more can you ask for ? Will definitely be back for a longer stay !

A beautiful living room with an electric fireplace and a little outdoor patio- private just for your room. We had a delicious FRESH Quiche with a delectable crust and perfect cooked eggs/ham & cheese, fresh fruit, yogurts, butter croissants and to die for Cruffin (croissant/muffin pastry) covered in sugar and cinnamon. The coffee machine can get you your coffee of choice in minutes, mine was a frothy latte and my husband opted for a cortado. Again available 24hrs which is a plus in my books. Close to everything to walk around and explore, we loved going across the way to walk around the Napa river bridge/pier. And to Oxbow market- A must in my opinion. Doorman immediately grabbed our things to bring to our rooms, there was complimentary champagne, cookies, and lots of snacks. This town is heavily known for their wine as well, so I noticed the wine "wall" as well as tasting is every day at 5pm. We decided to eat there right out the patio, I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken sandwich, it was more on the drier side but the fries came out hot with it, and the chips and veggies were good. The room itself was beautiful, it was so spacious, lots of extra goodies that you never knew you needed (sewing kit, hair ties, shaving, etc), and even a whole snack section that was complimentary. Spa is also available, I did the 50 min massage for $300, it was not worth it in my opinion, definitely had better. The place itself was just overall incredible, the breakfast is hard to miss, and I really love how it closed at 10am, pretty late allowing you to sleep in for a little. It has a variety of juices, fresh bakery items, fruit, and even someone to make omelette. This was an incredible hotel, and I would highly recommend staying the night here!

A baby pack and play was set up before arrival, and we appreciated a welcome amenity that included a half bottle of sparkling wine from Chandon and a slice of double chocolate cake. That said, the stay felt a bit inconsistent for a luxury hotel at this level. In our room, none of the bedside reading lights worked, there were minor cleanliness issues in the bathroom when we arrived (a couple of long hairs), and the toilet would occasionally continue running unless adjusted. We also noticed fairly constant thumping noises from the room above us during our stay. Overall, while the property has a lot going for it, our experience didn't fully match what we were expecting for a special occasion stay.
