I have been using Casting Frontier for years. Always mixed results since you don't get a lot of submissions, it's always been like this. Easy to use site, to create ads and upload sides. Very frustrating experience with Casting Frontier. The platform is extremely limited unless you pay -- you can only upload one photo and can't really update your profile or submit to anything without paying additional fees. It ends up being a waste of time if you're not on a paid plan. On top of that, trying to cancel my account has been a long back-and-forth with support. I've asked multiple times for my account to be closed, but they keep asking for more information instead of simply processing the request. Archaic piece of trash generic UI site build, if ever was. You waste time updating your credits, headshots etc. for it to either crash on you, or duplicate entries you must waste time filing a crap support ticket, to chat with a Rep who may or may not provide runaround, while running a sales pitch to keep you invested, onboard. Definitely NOT the show ground it used to be, under prior management. Even Actors Access and Casting Networks don't squirt around like this. We're professionals, and deserve better! read more

I hope this platform gets more gigs. The experience I've had so far (on the free version) is been great. I also had an amazing experience with customer service, Gavin. They do not have much castings but I've book more things in here (maybe because they are not so much users?). It's awful with very few jobs referrals. I immediately recognized no job referrals were coming through.i wanted the sit to work so after a few days, I requested a representative make certain all necessary buttons were punched. After that review I received at most two referrals. By the time i realized nothing was happening, I requested a refund of my annual premium plus subscription, the company said I crossed the 10 day deadline and wouldn't prorate a refund. I do not recommend this site for struggling actors like myself. Basically, I'll probably never get another referral but I've loss $200. Beware. read more

CAREFUL! HIGH RATE INCREASE! After paying $36/per year for membership, Casting Frontier is now charging $149.99/year. For what? I'm not sure because 99% of the notification I get are for non-union and low-paying jobs (even though I had filtered my preferences out to UNON and paying jobs only). I just happened to look at my credit card statement and saw that I was charged $149.99. I couldn't believe it! When I called them I was told that Casting Frontier had sent out an email to all "talent" to notify them of the price increase. That is not true. They did not email me (and I'm not the only one as I checked in with a few other actors who are having the same issue). Also, I did not get an email receipt for that charge. I only saw it on my credit card statement. I barely ever get any UNION/suitable castings from the site anyways, so I've decided to cancel my membership and asked for a refund. read more

You will give CF your money (which doubled in price in one year) and then you are unable to cancel when you realize that this site gets you zero work. I have been a member for 9 years and just recently I requested I no longer want to pay annually due to tight budget and current SAG Strike but instead of helping me they reduced my membership to basic and basically deleting my account. This is an inferior product when compared to actorsaccess and Casting networks. With Frontier you have to pay for many accounts to cover the entire US/Canada. With the other two they allow you to pursue any region throughout the US and Canada. Casting Frontier is also much less user friendly. The upload speeds are what really get me. It takes 30 minutes or more to upload a 100mb video, and most self tapes are 100mb or more. Very difficult when you have multiple self tapes you need to upload to CF and you're just sitting there waiting for 2 hours (while the casting director is likely casting another actor) What Casting Frontier fails to realize is that the industry is now in a hyperdrive era. Everything happens at the speed of light. Casting happens the same day, directors expect to see you within hours of emailing you. To not have this speed is a downfall and truly hinders the actor who is self-submitting. I also found that many, if not most, casting calls on Casting Frontier are also listed on ActorsAccess and LAcasting, whose platforms are much better functioning for the working actor. read more

Been a free member on this site for many years. Finally I received an audition to tape. I taped my audition and was able to upload my taped audition. The client also wants a selfie with the video submission but I get an error message that access to my camera is denied. I tried another computer and camera, same message. It will not let me submit my video audition without the selfie. I decided to see if I can directly record video. I get denied again but this time it tells me to reload the page and give permission to use my camera. No where is there a setting or an option to give permission to use my camera. This casting website sucks. It's clumsy to use and not user friendly. read more

Watch out for their auto renewal! Also they do not have a prorated policy. That means if your policy cancels on December 1 if you cancel before December 1 you lose the service and are downgraded immediately even though you were auto charge for a year or the previous December 1. I was told that I would have to contact them for cancellation November 30 in order to avoid losing any time that I've already paid for. This has got to be illegal! They are very strict about not giving any refund either. I literally had to mark my calendar out for next year to handle this. I contacted them a few days before and they still will not prorate it. Not to mention you'll hardly get any auditions from the site compared to actors access and casting networks. read more

Hopefully this review improves their service. I signed up for Casting Frontier's membership that offered a complimentary headshot session. The photographer was decent but the session lasts only 40 minutes. It would have been just fine but many of the shots are out of focus, some of the best-lit, best framed and best expressions etc. And some folks pay for this service. I may get a headshot or two out of the shoot but I did it as an experiment, with nothing to lose. They need to bump up the skill level if they're only offering a very short period of time to get usable, high-resolution shots. This in no way reflects upon Casting Frontier as a casting submissions company; this review is totally and utterly separate. read more

I personally love the Casting Frontier for the mere fact that it saves me money in less head shots, and helps the environment a little bit by utilizing less photos. When you go to auditions you simply bring your ID card, or your key fob id card and they have all your info!!! This website is great, it rocks for actors, agants/mamagers and casting directors. They arewell organized, not expensive, and the people who rate it low and say "I never booked anything" are being clueless. They don't BOOK you, YOU or your REPS submit your profile for specific roles and CASTING chooses you, or not, to audition. IF you get an audition, show up on time, are prepared, and are right for the role, you may get a callback. There are many factors why someone books a role or does not. Don't blame the website!!!!! I never usually write reviews for casting agencies as my child has been through the doors of an abundance of agencies without any issues, but the douchiness of one of the casting directors that works here was unwarranted and I felt compelled to write a concise review. First off, as my child was sitting on a bench waiting for his fitting, a short middle aged man wearing an extra medium sweatshirt draped tightly over his pot belly and tapered skinny jeans, arrogantly strides into the lobby and in a loud obnoxious voice rudely orders my 5 year old to slide over on the bench so other children can sit down. Even though the male "receptionist" was the one that placed him there in the first place. Nervous and confused, my son didn't move, and he continued to patronize my 5 year old until this bully interrupted himself and proceeded to compliment the "beautiful smile" of another young girl who walked into the office. After which, he continued to patronize my son until I interjected and told him to calm down and not talk to my son like that. Nonetheless, he scurried off in his tapered skinny jeans while shaking his head. I get that many of these industry people are shrewd and haughty, but try to maintain some semblance of decency and rationale when dealing with children. read more

Compared to LA Casting, Frontier Rocks. I like that I can control my own headshots and not pay $40 just to post 2 headshots (like CN/LAC). Union actors prefer Frontier over LA Casting - at least the ones I know. And I've been doing this for over 30 years. For folks complaining about auditions - that's not their primary service. It's not their job to get you auditions. They are primarily a site used by commercial cds to communicate with actors about auditions they get through their agents. The jobs posted are arbitrary and paid for by 3rd parties, just like every other casting site. They aren't agents or casting directors. And their prices are much MUCH better than LA Casting. read more

Actually, I hate giving reviews because ultimately I cherish excellent relationships that I maintain with other online casting services that I do business with. But unfortunately, I cannot say the same for CASTING FRONTIER. It has been next to impossible dealing with them...I am near tears and filled with anger directed at them because I have paid for one year online service to post my photos and resume and I am consistently experiencing difficulty signing onto their site, I am not receiving any alerts for commercial or film opportunities...but they seem to have no problem with harassing me with their emails about signing up for their service...when THEY KNOW I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR the service Plan that I chose to have with them. Yet another in a string of opportunistic "Casting Sessions". The Casting Frontier has you fill out "mandatory" contact info before you go in to read and assigns you a bar code (welcome Big Brother). You are then sent an email notification that you need to update your profile with a picture and resume, etc. for the casting director's "active files". You are then spammed to upgrade your account for $10 per month, insinuating that only upgraded profiles get any attention from casting directors. Again, if a CD likes your work, they'll call your representation. These online casting services are entirely ineffective and a waste of actors' money. read more
