Margherita pizza (10 inch)
Yeshanth J.

We were traveling on our way to Florida and this was the only restaurant open after 9pm. The interior on first look gave the impression that people don't generally dine here. After being there for 15mins, it was clear that they had more takeout order calls than dine in. We ordered the stuffed veggie and margherita pizza. This was the first time I have had stuffed pizza. I couldn't gather myself to eat more than 2 slices. I doubt anyone can double that as it was getting more greasy when we had more and more. Margherita with thin crust was a welcome relief for the tummy. Didn't find any issues with it. Bottomline: Only takeout encouraged.

They know my address now. The food comes hot. The driver was very kind. I get the taste of New York in Cottageville South Carolina.

Prompt delivery. Pizza sure was tasty. Croutons in ceasar salad tasted home made. Delish!

Stopped at Walterboro, SC for the night on our trip to Florida. Opened up my trusted Yelp App to…read moredecided on a location for a fast dinner. If you don't know, I rarely eat Italian Food out because my Mother is off the boat and my Wife and her Mother are also Italian, and excellent at preparing Italian Dishes. That and the fact that we live in an area that is rich with Italian Heritage and Restaurants, we don't take a chance on Italian Restaurants unless we know their pedigree. The Yelp for the immediate local area was not impressive, with the exception of Carmines, so we decided to give it a try. The employees were all very friendly and the service was not slow. The decor suggested that the Chef was from Italy, I asked the waitress for some background. Turns our her Father is Carmine and he was born in Italy. The food was very good and if this restaurant was located in South Philly, I am sure it would get good ratings from the locals and be a well liked establishment. We got an order of Calamari Fritti, that was nice and crisp but the portion was not very big, 4 out of 5 stars. I ordered Veal Parmigiana, I give it 3.75 out of 5, taste was a 4.5 but size was a 3, I'm used to a larger portion. My wife ordered Chicken Limone and gave it a 5 out of 5. My 2 youngest ordered, Spaghetti W/ Marinara, the pasta was Al dente and they both gave it a 4.5 out of 5. My oldest ordered, Carbonara. She does this often because she really likes Carbonara, but almost every time she is disappointed because she is used to the way my wife makes it. Of course she didn't enjoy it as much as her Mothers but she did like it, giving it a 3.5 out of 5. For dessert we got one order Tiramisu and one Cannoli. The Tiramisu was very good 4 out of 5. I'm a Cannoli snob, my favorite Cannoli is from Termini of South Philadelphia. It will be hard for any place to top that for me, I give the Cannoli 3 out of 5. The shell was a 4 and the filling was a 2. Not saying it wasn't enjoyable but it wasn't what I prefer. So, if you're traveling on 95 South, near the town of Waterboro, SC, and you're in the mood for some authentic Italian Food, I highly recommend you give Carmines a try. Oh, they close at 8pm, so get there before 7:15pm

They cocktails are amazing and the creme brulee is to die for. The bruschetta is absolutely delicious. The service is really good and they're very attentive and explain everything really well. They have an outdoor seating which is perfect during the fall and a screened in patio that has AC so it's not hot during summer. I really enjoy this place and is very authentic! One of the few places that offers authentic Carbonara

Let me start with the good - and there is a lot of it - La Rustica has really great food and the…read moreprices are pretty fair. That's a high compliment from me since I can be snobby about pasta, being from New York City and all. The restaurant itself is a gorgeous, large house and has lots of outdoor seating as well. Despite the location and going on a Friday evening I found parking with no effort across the street at the bank. These are all great things! I had a fettuccine special was blew my mind (only 2 or 3 shrimp and 2 scallops was VERY skimpy for $45 though), the garlic bread is almost exactly how I make it at home, the salad had a nice, bright taste, and the crème brûlée was exquisite. Where we went from five stars to four... mostly with front of house stuff. I called ahead to see if I should join the waitlist and I was told that it would be a good idea. I asked to join the waitlist and I was told to just do it online. I explained that I was driving but I was told to do it online. Tried doing it online at a red light, the system said that it couldn't. I called back in and asked again to be put on the waitlist since it was down and was told that wasn't possible. When I got there though there was no need for a waitlist, I was immediately seated even though I said I was waiting to meet someone. 9 minutes later the hostess came to my table to follow up and I felt very pressured, even though I tried to tell her when I was seated that my date wasn't there yet! Once I decided that I had been stood up, it was hard to get a hold of my server who was super busy. They couldn't add any more servers in here, it's just too jam packed as it is. Once my order was taken my meal was on track. Unfortunately when my food arrived, it wasn't brought by my server it was brought by a helper, who didn't offer any extra cheese. By the time my server came around to offer me cheese I was significantly through my meal. This is a basic fumble, that is solved by giving cheese graters to the folks bringing out the food, a common expectation at an Italian restaurant. Meanwhile I am spending my entire meal seated next to a family with two extremely young children, and everyone was acting like they were at Grandma's for Thanksgiving. One daughter (young enough to have a pacifier) was tossed onto the bench seating while dad started playing drums on her belly and wailing about how special she is, the other daughter was flinging herself at the bench and using it as a jungle gym. They were NOT the only family in here having like this either, there were multiple children running around and squealing like they were playing hide and seek. As a parent of three I am sympathetic but if you can afford to eat here you can afford a babysitter. And while the restaurant isn't responsible for how people behave I do expect them to have that uncomfortable conversation with people rather than expecting the rest of the customers to grin and bear it. Overall... I didn't let these things ruin my night or my meal, but they definitely take a star off. J.Ja
