    Looking South along southern portion.

Great beach at least in off season. Decent parking good access. Some discrete nudity about 15-20 minutes south of parking area but nobody seems to care. If you walk that far and are offended you just turn around or live and let live. Mostly in late morning or afternoon after the mainstream beach goers walk their morning walk.

Beautiful beach and found two shark teeth right off! Amazing to see so many people with real equipment looking for teeth!

I went during Thanksgiving weekend, so I can't fully review based on 1 visit when it was mostly cloudy and in the high 60s to low 70s temps. What I can tell you is that the sand is a mix of soft white and black sand. There are a lot of large rocks along the shore's edge, which look beautiful as the waves come in. Hubby and I were there to walk and relax in our beach chairs. Everyone else seemed to be working hard to find sharks' teeth like they were worth gold. I must admit, I spent about 10 min kicking around the wet sand to see if I found anything. I found a handful of medium-large shells, but no shark teeth. Will update this review after visiting in the warmer months.

This is my me and my friends favorite beach to come to when we visit Venice!!! We always find the most shark teeth here and we love meeting all the other shark tooth hunters here. There are so many beautiful trees it's like a jungle and I love the rocks but also a little hard to get out in the ocean but they're beautiful! The only thing is parking is scarce since so many people love this beach so try to get here on the earlier side. This time there was a hotdog/burger stand called dog friendly and the smash burgers were so yummy. A great treat after a long day at the beach.

Wow! What a beach. If you want to find sharks teeth this is the beach to go to. When we arrived I was shocked to see so many people in the water with their pans, screens, and rakes looking for sharks teeth. Others were fishing while I was more interested in the shells. For the time I was there I was able to find several different kinds of shells. If I could have only stayed longer .... This is a must go if you are interested in sharks teeth. You will likely find one or several. Good luck!

Sharks teeth found at Caspersen Beach, best site for sharks teeth hunting in Florida.

Plenty of free beach parking. Great restrooms with rinsing stations. There are sharks teeth to be found at Caspersen Beach, I believe it's the best site for sharks teeth hunting in Florida. The tourists go to Venice Beach and serious hunters travel a few miles south to Caspersen. Take a strainer or just a pair of good eyes and you can find the teeth along shoreline where water meets sand. Additionally, the unspoiled nature trails and lush landscape without any homes or high rises makes Caspersen my favorite beach in the area! If your serious about finding sharks teeth, stop at Earth Treasures in Venice to get a scooper and custom made sifter.

One of the lesser known beaches of the area, but if you know of shark teeth then you definitely know of Caspersen! This beach is so fun because it's so unique- there are lots of rocks right along the shore like and a huge walkway across the sand, making for some great views! There are lots of shells to be found, not even just shark teeth but a large array of other conchs, scallops and other really good ones! If you want to find teeth, though, I suggest you bring either a rake or some kind of straining/ scooping element because otherwise they are super difficult to find. You also need to find the right spot, so if you're not finding any, keep on moving and don't give up! Caspersen also has some bathrooms and rinse stations, but beware of parking because it can get tough- so great there EARLY or get there late- the in between may have you driving around quite a bit!

Wow this beach is intense. Forceful waves, rocks lining the waters edge and TONS of people hunting down sharks teeth. There are piles of discarded shells all over the beach from people looking for sharks teeth. It's a relatively smaller beach width wise. If you're looking for a relaxing beach this isn't really it. As far as how it compares to other beaches for teeth, I would say it's medium. We did find teeth but it was brutal with the waves and rocks. Ideally bring tools to find teeth at this beach since the waves and rocks can be hard to navigate around.

This beach comes up as the top location in FL to hunt for shark teeth on the beach. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We researched, came prepared with sifters and shovels, and spent hours in the water navigating the rocks and waves to find some teeth. The beach itself is narrow, and the rocks make for some crazy obstacles when the tide is high. The current also brings up tons of seashells, so you have to be careful where you walk. The patrons were all friendly, several even giving my boys a few extra teeth they had found! But with some hard work, and more than our fair share of waves, we managed to find 4 ourselves. It was such a fun morning. We will definitely come back.

It's difficult for me to just sit and read or sunbath on a beach so Caspersen is a perfect fit for me. It's a beachcombers dream. I have spent many hours over the years hunched over digging and sifting the sand in search of fossilized shark teeth. When you get really good at it you can match the teeth to the shark. Over the years it has become much more difficult to find larger sized shark teeth but the smaller ones are plentiful and still lots of fun to find. You don't need special rakes and sand baskets on a pole that sift the sand ....but it makes mining much easier.

This beach is worth making plans to spend the whole day at especially if you're a fossil hunter. I've been here many times but I've yet to have found a Megalodon tooth yet but you can find fossils (teeth) of sharks such as makos, bull, sand, lemon, great whites, tiger sharks and of course megalodon. I've also come across petrified wood, and even turtle fossil which is really cool. My understanding is that this beach and a couple others on the west side of Florida have fossils because there are layers and layers (several feet deep) of accumulated shells, bone, and teeth of the many marine life animals. During low tide when the fossil beds are most exposed, that is supposedly the best time to find them. We did research before coming here, and thanks to a youtube tutorial learned how to make our own fossil sifters as opposed to spending 40+ on ordering one online. You'll be glad that you made it, and even more so when you start finding fossils!

Nice hidden beach. I have been living in Florida for about 27 years and never heard about it until recently. This beach park is not so much for swimming but maybe for walking along the beach and definitely for nature lovers.. Most people we saw, were busy looking for shark teeth. Apparently it's a thing people like to do, lol. The sand is black and there are many rocks along the beach. Something one might expect in California and not here. I found it interesting, especially as I am used to white sand. There were many birds in and outside the water. It's a great park to come to as day trip.

Great place to grab some sharks teeth! Not good for playing on the beach though. Go in off hours after a high tide.

The beach is really clean. Depending on the time of day it may be busy. There was not much parking but the wait for a spot was worth it.

Just the same as I remember from my childhood, twenty years ago. I hope my children will have just as fond of memories as I had now.
