Nice place to gamble. Staff is nice but like every casino don't expect to leave a millionaire. But I play and like to eat. I like the casino but don't come here for the prime rib all you can eat. I waited 90 min in line for a seat then when I got to the meat, i was expecting the first picture but got the second one. Couldn't even it eat. Don't they know it is already dead. No need to do it again. Not impressed... glad i came alone and not with friends. I would have been embarrassed

What I like about Casino NS is: -Cheap draft ($3.25/glass); -Free parking (provided you use your Casino card and have your ticket validated); -Great selection of VLTs including 1 and 5 cent slot machines, and -The Schooner Show Room is great for watching concerts at reasonable prices. What I dislike about Casino NS is that: -They're almost always super busy and you can't always play the games or machines you'd like to play; -They recently did away with their $5 blackjack tables and now they only have computerized $5 blackjack, and -The food from the restaurants inside the casino is expensive, it's not very good, and you typically have a long wait before being served. Overall, not a bad night out, just be sure to eat before you go, and avoid going on a Saturday night.

I am mixed when it comes to this kind of entertainment. But if you are ever looking for some that is bright, loud and with alot of people then this would be your location. Yes I understand that a Casino is all of the above but honestly I have been in this place made twice and placed about $5.00 in the slots. It is truly amazing how much money someone can spend here with large amounts of time. Casino Nova Scotia was a HUGE hit when it first opened as we had nothing like it and we all wanted to see what they hype was about. Anything from slots, blackjack to your favourite poker hands all with great atmosphere and alot of lights so make sure you have your Tylenol with you oh and your wallet. But be assured that bank machines are near by.

What better way to ring in your nineteenth birthday than a trip to Casino Nova Scotia! I was overwhelmed my first time at the Casino, there is so much to take in. It's a big building filled with slot machines, betting tables, bars, concert rooms and cash out machines everywhere. Big decisions have to be made right off the bat; the budget for the night was fifty dollars and we decided to use it sparingly first hitting the five cent slot machines and then switching to the Black Jack tables when we worked up enough courage. We joined a table with a five dollar minimum bid and managed to win enough to buy a drink from the bar (which was ridiculously priced). The waitresses were pretty good at coming by often enough to deliver drinks, but then again there weren't many people in the casino that night. It's definitely easy to see how some people lose track of time in any (and particularly this) casino. Artificial light is pumped in and the temperature control made it feel like winter inside in the middle of July. I'm not a big gambler so the novelty of the betting wore off on me, but I was continually impressed every time I used the restroom. The facilities were very fancy and really clean and spacious so you'll never find yourself waiting in line. Hot Hint: Leaving the casino and the weather isn't great? You can navigate the tunnels above the streets and through Scotia Square to make your way up to Grafton Street in no time.

Halifax was hopping today, after the Parade you could go to the Garrison Grounds where there were many vendors set up for you to sample their products. There were things there for kids, adults, youth, you name it, they had it covered. There was a stage set up with live music as well. It really was a great festival to attend. I hope you enjoy the pictures!! After this show, if you wanted you could go to catch the huge concert on the commons, The Black Eyed Peas!!! See you there! Halifax was rockin this weekend!!!

It seems that this upcoming event (July 18-25) is packing some serious heat, with over 140 floats, bands and other sites throughout the city dedicated to Pride times. Whether you're gay, lesbian, transgender, bi or straight, this is an event thats all about LOVE. It doesn't matter who, just love and be loved... and celebrate that. People of all kinds can come together and celebrate the freedom of lifestyle, and this is very much a positive statement for our city as a whole. The infamous parade is only the beginning. Plays, food and drink specials, sports games, live entertainment+djs, free cover, comedy nights, a boat cruise--- the list goes on and on! I'd suggest picking up an agenda (available at most local businesses/ grocery stores) and reading through the day-by-day schedule. There is a lot planned, so checking out the options seems to be a good strategy. I noticed that The Cliks are playing on July 24th... a band I discovered during my L Word days. How fun. I absolutely love the downtown energy buzzing around during Pride Week. Everyone is in good spirits, and its all about that infectious bout of free choice. The next two weeks are sure to be action packed, so get out, embrace, and have a gay ol' time!

It's an interesting premise: you call as you need a ride to the airport. They will pick you up and…read moredeliver you to the airport on the hour (i.e, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00) and only on the hour for a flat rate of 26$. The catch: you may be sharing the cab with someone else. I have used them quite a few times, and all was fairly positive for a small business. The man who takes your reservation (i.e., the receptionist) is a odd on the phone, which makes you feel a little uncomfortable as to whether they fully have your information for the reservation, BUT they do always show up to get you (albeit, usually a little late) so he's obviously remembering your reservation. My issue was with my last trip. It's put me on the fence as to whether I will use them again. I was supposed to be to the airport for 8:00, and was told that my pickup time would be 7:15. At 7:20 I called as the driver had not arrived. The receptionist told me that he was running late and that I gave him the wrong number so they could not reach me. I later found out that he had written down my number as 998-xxxx, rather than 999-xxxx (I highly doubt that I told him 998). He told me that the driver would be there in another 10 minutes. When 7:30 came and the driver was still not there, I called back and the receptionist told me he would contact the driver to see where he was. When I asked him to confirm my number with me, he was, again, one digit off (making an 8 a 3). The driver finally showed up at 7:45 and I was supposed to be at the airport at 8:00 (I live in the South end of Halifax). He ended up speeding to the airport and we arrived at 8:10-8:15. This was not a problem for me as my flight was 9:25, but if it were someone who was flying out earlier - that 15 minutes of lateness could have made them miss their flight. The kicker: when the driver was speeding his way to the airport he was falling asleep at the wheel. On the highway I noticed the car was jerking occasionally. I thought it was, perhaps, a windy day and coupled with the speed he was having trouble staying on the road. The jerkiness made me more alert, and when I started paying attention to the drivers actions I could see: his eyes getting squinty, jerk of car, wide eyes. It was when he drifted and hit the rumble strip on the side of the highway that I officially began hoping that I would actually arrive. Of all the time I've used this service I've only seen the one driver, so I am not sure if that's why he is overtired. Nonetheless, I think it was inappropriate to put another human life in the car of a man who was clearly falling asleep. I guess that's what a cheap ride (26$ rather than 60$) gets you to the airport. I'm not sure that I want to gamble with my life again for the sake of 34$.

overall the service was great and the driver was very friendly. would definatly recommend this to…read moreother people!
