The neighborhood in the area is filled with cute shops and restaurants that are some of the tastiest places in Madrid. The vibe of the hotel is IG worthy. The courtyard and walls are gorgeous and filled with beautiful tile. Everywhere in the hotel feels like a bit of a movie. The beds are also perfect for regenerating yourself on vacation. Even the travel adrenaline was no match for the perfect mattresses. Finally, the service is incredible. The hotel staff is attentive and very plugged into the city. We got a coveted reservation at Ten Con Ten during peak hours with no problem... and when it was harder for us to the find the right place, the staff worked to make sure that we got a quality reservation. It was sold out for most of my visit but I managed to book for my last night. I arrived around noon on a Friday and was greeted by one of the friendly employees that took my information and checked me in via mobile phone. She offers me a full breakfast for 8 Euros which I declined although it was a good offer. They had a bar in the reception area with a small lounge in the front lobby area. I had a room with a city view so I asked for the highest floor and got the top (4th). The room was a decent size and just right. I had a double bed. TV could have been bigger. Laminate (non carpeted) floors were a plus. They didn't have a safe in the room although a safe is available for use in the luggage room. The street below can get loud and has a lot of foot traffic especially on the weekend. On a Friday night I could hear the crowds very late in the evening although I was on the top floor. Overall, great value for money with a great location within walking distance of a few of the local attractions.

Usually, I am not a picky person, when it is about breakfast. But they missed out one of the important things of breakfast. Egg! Didn't see any scramble egg or boiled egg. Well, I did found the local favour, egg with potato. But they were just not the same. I like the staff here. They are very passionate and friendly. I think that's quite important, if the employee happy or not. It does so how good is the place can be. I am glad with the staying here. Room was great; consider Europe's size, the bathroom was very spacious. To access to the elevator you must walk a three minutes U shape hall way because the elevator is located in the back of the hotel. Staff - the people that work here are amazing; especially the gentlemen that smile the most, you will know him when u see him. The staff will go out of their way to help you. Soccer match ticket? You got it. Restaurant reservation ? - you got it. Exchange currency ? - you got it. Thank you for all your hard work to make our stay pleasant. This was a Rock N' Roll sponsored hotel so we opted to stay there- it was close to the start and finish and was also advertised on the Rock N' Roll website. I booked online with no issues and we arrived a bit early. Chaos at the front desk- no direction of where to wait, etc.. People were cutting (maybe they were there first- I don't know). What I do know is we waited to check in for quite some time. The room was not ready so we left the bags with the bellman. After a few hours we came back to get the key to the room. No issues with the room- it was standard. The next day no issues (day before the marathon). It was the night when the problems began. We went to bed around 10pm- we had to run the next morning! First the walls are paper thin- we heard our neighbors 'having fun' in the room next door for what seemed like an hour. THEN- unfortunately there was a wedding going on in what seemed to be the OTHER room right next do us. The music (the entire Grease soundtrack TWICE) kept me up until 1am. The music stopped at midnight but the laughter and conversation went on until 1. We were miserable :( Finally after getting to sleep we went to the marathon in the morning. I asked for late check out- the marathon ended around 11:30 with checkout at 12. That was not enough time to get back and get our things together. They charged me FIFTEEN EUROS for an extra hour!! WAIT!! I thought you were a sponsor for the Rock N' Roll???? Why would you make participants pay for an extra hour??? That is what really upset me. I spoke to the manager and they would NOT waive the fee. I know its only 15 Euros but its the entire principle behind it. I don't recommend this hotel- there are plenty others in the city that would treat you better.

I was not a big fan of gin when I first came to la pasa, but I am now because of this bar and Spain. They have a great variety of gins to choose from, from the dry to the not so dry. Every drink comes with a selection of tapas. So far I've tried their quesadillas, chips, and croquet's with cheese, mushrooms, and fish. Nothing is over cooked or over done and the croquet's have the right amount of crunch and really compliment the drinks very well. Along with the gins they have a great selection of brunch, lunch, and dinner items. Their portion sizes are huge and priced just right. The next time I go to La Pasa I plan on trying one of their menu items. Everything looks amazing and I've been told they are really good. I love that they have a variety of events here and welcome people from all over the world.
