This review is intended for Pawn Plus on Lancaster Ave in Reading, Pa. Unfortunately, I recently…read morelashed out at an employee named Tina because of an issue that arose behind an electronic product that I had pawned as a favor for my son. He gave me an incorrect password that was never verified by the employee who handled the transaction. I continued paying the interest for him for months. Eventually I decided to forfeit the pawn since he had more than enough time to retrieve it, but showed zero interest in doing so. The passcode he gave me was incorrect. After expressing my aggravation at him for causing this problem, he gave me another password. I left numerous voicemails with the correct code, assuming the situation would be resolved. I attempted to pawn an item a couple days ago and was told by Tina that she never rec'd my voicemail. After having waited outside for 45 minutes, my patience was gone. I was very angry, rude and disrespectful towards Tina. My stress level that day was at an all time high. I should mention that I receive a service connected pension for PTSD, which at times, can be difficult to control. I called the location on Penn St and was told to come over immediately, no problem, he'd take care of me. After waiting at that location for another hour for the representative to assist me, I'm told that I'm still banned. I explained that I'd left numerous messages with the code. The mgr asked why I hadn't gone in person to handle it. I explained that it seemed like every time I stopped by, there was a note on the door stating they were at lunch or, there were 6 ppl ahead of me in line. Since they usually couldn't retain employees at that location for longer than a month, she worked alone, handling a caseload of 3 employees. It wasn't uncommon to have to wait at least 90 minutes to get inside. I have never successfully called that location and had an actual person answer the phone. The manager at Penn St admitted that they don't listen to voicemails since they have at least 600 of them per day. I don't get how a company claims to value their customers, yet refuses to answer calls or listen to voicemails, but that's another subject entirely! He said that he was told that I was rude to her as well. I need to admit that I was very aggressive verbally. In fact, my behavior was totally unacceptable. She did not deserve my wrath. I was angry at my son for creating this problem and angry at myself for allowing it. When I look back, she was the only employee that didn't quit and apply for unemployment benefits. The turnover was insane, yet she continued showing up on a daily basis. She remained loyal to the company, despite the huge turnover, frustration and fear during Covid. She deserves 10 stars instead of 5 which is the limit for having to deal with difficult customers like myself. I heard that she will be leaving soon for a better opportunity. I'm embarrassed for behaving so badly and again, I'd like to offer my sincerest apology for not treating her with the respect she deserved. I should mention that initially, I was annoyed with the manager at Penn St who said that now that I needed them, I came in with the code. I repeated that I left many messages and attempted to visit several times. I reminded him to check my account because not only did I pawn, I purchased thousands of dollars of jewelry that I either gave as presents to family or, resold on ebay. On Black Friday, before the pandemic I dropped $2000 on jewelry, so to say I only came in when I needed them was an insult. I think after reviewing my account which reflected many big ticket purchases as well as a fair number of pawns, he apologized and extended his hand which I respect him for. I wish Tina luck in her future endeavors and look forward to hopefully reestablishing a relationship with them in the future.

The worst pawn shop I have ever been in. They have one attendant. She has you waiting in line for…read moremore than an hour to say that they only except top of the line pneumatic and power drills.. the lady in front of me waited for the same amount of time only to be turned away because the store was not accepting debit cards for payments.. the store is pretty much empty..I would report the place to the BBB as well as Consumer Affairs.. but it honestly would probably be a waste of time, because apparently, the owner doesn't care either way..
