I recommend their earthkeepers line immensely-such a great line of shoes. Very modern and not your traditional workman boot that you associate with Timberland.

They stock Debenhams own ranges such as Red Herring where I have seen a few really pretty formal dresses at very reasonable prices indeed, they also come in an extensive range of size starting from size 6. Debenhams have recently started an advantage card that works similar to that of Boots but you can only use it on cosmetics. It's called the Beauty Club Reward Card and for every £1 you spend on beauty you get 1 point, once you spend over £25 you get 3 points per £1. When you get 500 points you get a £5 gift voucher. It may take you a while to build up your points but I guess it's better than nothing and like the Boots Advantage Card the points don't expire so you can build them up.

On this visit I was looking for a dress and actually struggled to find anything that I liked - maybe dresses aren't in fashion just now? In the end I found one which was a decent price (under £20) and they had the full range of sizes. Service was fine, friendly and helpful. Of all the shops at The Avenue this is the one I'm most likely to shop in for fashion/accessories, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

(Kind of makes you want to go and unfold it, doesn't it?!) Replay mainly sell men's clothes. It focuses on denim - with a great range of quality jeans. Do bear in mind though that they'll set you back about £120. Not bad for designer jeans, but still not quite a budget friendly option. They also sell quite a large range of polo-shirts and hoodies. Again, their clothes are quite studenty - but their prices aren't. The cutest area of the shop, though, is most definitely the children's section. This includes mini versions of almost everything you'll find in the store - denim jackets, coats, hoodies, jeans and polo-necks. Their children's range also includes stuff for girls. Who me and the boy happened to bump into on the way home rather intoxicated from The Wise Monkey the other night. It was not especially pleasant. Particularly, because I knew when I heard someone shout 'Laura!' I was too drunk to deal with it. But, when continued walking without a second thought, the boy stopped and turned round with a native 'Someone just shouted on you...'. I can now see the sweet side in it, however, at the time I believe I gave him a rather shocked and irritated look. Anyway, enough of that talk. This is one of the few designer shops I've been in through irregular shopping days with the mother. It is very pretty, well laid out and some of the clothes are actually quite nice. However, it's extremely pricey for what you get and the staff do seem rather above their station, which is off putting.

River Island is my favourite place for trousers as they're the only place that I can ever manage to find my size, every other shop the trousers are either too tight, too big or too long. I also adore their accessories, especially their belts and hats. River Island is a strange place though, sometimes I go in and want absolutely everything and other times I can't find so much as a pair of socks that tickle my fancy. That's probably not a bad thing though as it's not the cheapest place and probably does my bank balance a lot of favours.
