They're always on the ball and have the latest catwalk trends in their stores. The quality of Warehouse clothes is also spot on and the fabrics used will last many washes unlike some stores on the High Streets. Even though I really like Warehouse, I don't always buy from here. It's very similar to Topshop but quite a bit more expensive so I usually find something similar in Topshop instead. It's always worth a look though as they often do really good sales and it's also great for work clothes as they do some really pretty black trousers and cardigans.

Warehouse, though, stays resolute on Argyll Street. Like most Warehouse stores, this branch is quite small (though no smaller than the branch in the Buchanan Galleries). It stocks a large selection of stylish and fashionable party, casual and work clothes. Although often a little bit pricey - the basics are generally well priced and the sale is always worth a rummage.

Clothes-wise it's pretty hit and miss. I don't buy as much stuff here as I used to but a space invaders jumper I got literally almost a decade ago still makes the occasional appearance on my back, as does a G-Star track top which I'll assume they don't still sell since the brand has become a bit neddy. My most recent purchase was an initially cracking t-shirt with the Back To The Future DeLorean on it, which despite costing £28 fell apart quite quickly and is now only worn to bed, making it a bit of a letdown. It's still always worth a look though, and despite it's incredibly contrived coolness I don't find it half as irritating as Topman / Topshop, and the gadget / homeware section on the bottom floor is always a good way to while away ten minutes when waiting on a train.

This store is huge, with a large section dedicated to strappy, sexy, sensible and shiny shoes. The selection is quite overwhelming, all at incredible prices and offering something to suit everyone's feet from pretty flats to sexy skyscraper heels. Oh, they sell clothes too. New Look has come on leaps and bounds over the years, from a once uncool and low end store to one of the biggest names in high street fashion. I particularly love the knitwear here, including big soft cosy jumpers and pretty fitted & knitted dresses. Big names such as Giles Deacon and Lily Allen have hopped on board to offer new and interesting designs, to cement New Look's new found fame and fortune in the fashion stakes.

I can't believe…read moreI actually used to buy clothes from that shop because I every time I visit now I pick a gorgeous item off the rails only to put it back once I look at the price tag. So New Look it is for me then. It offers clothes which are almost as nice as Topshop in my opinion, in much more reasonable prices. I particularly love the range of shoes. I bought a pair of winter boots here seven months ago and have worn them practically every day. At £25 you don't get much better value for money than that. Not to mention the fact that two people have actually walked up to me in the street since to ask where I got them. This branch in Buchanan Street is big, although not quite as big as the one in Braehead Shopping Centre. However, it is definitely worth a browse as it offers a wide selection of clothes, jeans and shoes as well as the individual labels available only in New Look.

I don't actually come into any of those categories (!) but I did like some of the new jackets and blazers, smart dresses and chunky cardigans on offer at the moment. There is also a good range of shoes and accessories inside including bags, scarves and jewellery. You'll find it in the main pedestrianised shopping street in the town; I can walk to the shops from where I live but the nearest car park to use is probably the one beside Wilkinson, just off the one-way system.

No, I don't really like clothes shopping. I mean, I love shopping if it involves buying things online and having them delivered to my house. But going out clothes shopping is one of my least favourite activities (the looking, the trying on, the looking, the trying on - I hate all that changing), and it's why I rarely review clothes shops. Anyway, I found myself in need of a new dress for an event on Tuesday night (Yelp's Gallery of Glasgow, ahem). I'd scoured all my usual spots - H&M, Zara, Oasis ... there wasn't much going around that really took my fancy. My last hope was River Island and I was pretty impressed with the range and prices. The change rooms were tidy, clean and had a couch for your shopping partner to wait. There wasn't much of a wait at the checkout and staff were friendly. River Island had definitely gone up a few positions in my favourite shops list after this outing.

This is a much smaller branch of Topshop than the mega sized store on Argyle Street which is my…read morefavourite shopping street in Glasgow as it has much more choice than Sauchiehall Street at the very top of Buchanan so I don't find myself in this branch so much. Although this isn't as big, they still manage to cram a lot in and if I will always pop in if I'm passing, I just can't resist Topshop. Last year they changed to layout of the shop and moved the till and clothes around. For some reason it makes the shop feel even smaller and the till area is always really congested which makes for a slightly more stressful shopping experience. The staff here are super duper friendly and helped me with a drama I was having last year. I had seen a hat on the website which made you look like you had little cat ears, it was so cute! Rather than paying £5 postage I decided just to into Topshop to look for it myself. When I queried about the cat eared hat the girl looked at me as if I was a few sandwiches short of a picnic. However, she did phone round a couple of the other stores for me which was really kind of her. Although this isn't the biggest Topshop branch, it's still good for a browse and they have all the main items and a particularly good shoe section too.

Ston's is a cool little boutique on Queen Street, with the kind of understated windows that you…read morepass on a daily basis without looking in. It sells both mens and womes fashion, mostly smart eveningwear. The womens stuff is very nice, quite corsety and edgy. Stu really likes the guys' section too, although it is out of our price bracket. This shop seems to be aimed at the young, just-graduated professional with lots of money and lots of cocktail parties to attend. Good for a show-stopping outfit.

Situated on Queen Street, Stons is a very pretty and unusual boutique and I often find the window…read moredisplays very enticing. It's not the largest shop in the world but it is crammed full of fashionable formal dress for men and women. The prices here are quite expensive but most of the outfits are for very special ocassions so if there's something that catches your eye then it's worth it. Nothing here is mass produced so if you're going to a big bash then you won't need to worry about someone else wearing the same dress as you. Sometimes it's a bit hit or miss but everyone has different tastes and they cater for every taste in here which is great.

I really like Topshop but I find it's one of those stores where you see loads of nice things but…read morenever really end up buying much.The store in Braehead itself isn't huge and it's split half and half with Topman.There is quite a good range of clothes but I often find it's not the best selection of stock,for example I will maybe me much nicer items in Glasgow or online but Braehad store will never have them in.I like the fact that they have the shoe area at the back but the size of this area is pretty small which is a shame considering how lovely and popular Topshop shoes are.Staff are always very friendly and helpful which is good but in my opinion this store is now majorly overshadowed by the new massive Topshop at Silverburn.
