I usually look in second hand stores for instruments. Although there are quite a few there the don't on the whole appear to be in the best condition.

They also have a lot of CDs and records available for a pretty good price, some of the CDs you can tell are really old, with the cases broken etc, but that doesn't effect the sound of the music! They have a few DVDs out the front to for only a couple dollars each, which is pretty awesome. They aren't all crap DVDs that no body would buy anyway.
