It is opposite the public toilets inside the arcade on the Eastern side in the walkway that takes you out to Gawler Place. The Watch Doctor has recently featured on one of those television current affairs programs that burst in on people demanding they start talking about something they have done that is evidently untoward. I don't need to name the program, you can go to the Watch Doctors website for a full explanation of that situation. The website more or less tells what seems to be the truth, someone dropped a watch off to be fixed, the watch went missing and that is pretty much the whole story. Sad situation for the Watch Doctor, sadder for his client, because they lost their watch on the Watch Doctors watch, as it were. It is mainly for this reason that I'm saying I've seen better. I have seen watches go into repair shops and get repaired and return to their rightful owner. So yes on that score the Watch Doctor is a bit slack. That doesn't mean they don't sell a few things at reasonable prices, and that you can't check them out yourself. Make up your own mind. Unfortunately negative publicity can kill a business even if it isn't completely accurate. If you were hoping to have your watch fixed, maybe try somewhere else and get a quote and find out if it will be replaced if under any circumstances it goes missing. You can get a quote on a watch repair here, or a jewellery repair, you can browse the watches they have for sale and you can buy batteries for watches. Their position in the city is convenient for people working in the city - otherwise you'd find a local jeweller most likely who has never featured on a current affairs program that is a little dubious itself.

Well he did find it difficult and he bashed the backing plate off to replace the battery. It was only when I sat down for lunch that I noticed that the backing plate was dented and that upset me very much. He has no respect for other people's property and I would class his workmanship as very very poor. He is rough around the edges and he has no skill whatsoever. NEVER GOING BACK THERE !

I even called to speak to a consultant before making the purchase to discuss the purchase. After one week I heard nothing, so I called to follow up & was promised a call back. I didn't get one, so the next day, I followed up again. Finally, I was told that someone else sold the item I bought & there was no other one available. What would've happened if I didn't follow up? As if that wasn't bad enough, I was then offered a lab grown diamond in place of the natural diamond product I purchased!! I offered other suggestions but was met with a rigid response, so I asked to speak to the online manager to work through a solution. She didn't even have the care to manage a phone call to resolve the situation. Just a throw away email a day & a half later. Now, nearly 10 days after my purchase, I receive an email advising that I'll get a refund.. which will take up to another 10 days. That's nearly 3 weeks before I can shop for an alternative, which means I will likely run out of time & have no present for a milestone anniversary. Thanks for turning a moment of celebration into a moment of stress Shiels!! Clearly we have different ideas of what "the leading jewellery retailer in Australia" means.

You know the key to my heart is the finest diamonds in Adelaide, and even though you don't have it, you've told me where to go next! (Oh, you're the most honest salesperson I've ever met!) So please. This company is a fully authorised stockist and supplier of watches and jewellery from the world's most famous fashion houses, mostly from America! (There are also watches from Europe and other countries, but you can't help but notice most is made in the USA!) I personally get really terrified whenever I step into a jewellery or watches store. Everything is so damn expensive. For just one watch. The prices always turns me off, yet the look of it all makes me go TICK TOCK, all at the same time (did you like that connection I just made? Watches = time, get it?)! So now just imagine a tiny shop with white walls and glass cases everywhere. The watches are all well presented, gorgeous, classy, elegant and expensive! Atomic is a real nice place to go shopping for new watches - everywhere I looked I couldn't help but ask the shop assistant to open every window up, put it on my wrist, helplessly stare at it and take ages to take off! Atomic is dear, but it's fun to try them all on anyway. I mean, how often do I get to wear an Emporio Armani watch (albeit only for less than 60 ticks)? There's Marc Jacobs, DKNY for the elegant ladies who like her white ceramic bands, and gold. There's Emporio Armani and Armani for the elegant men who want to feel like a businessman, and sadly, a walkout for those with no money!

However, I've been known to fall in love with a man on spying his super-dooper, sexy thang wrist fashion. I also buy expensive watches, that hardly ever get worn but sit lovingly among my jewellery. At Atomic all the watch fashion you could ever want is under one roof. They have all the brands, all the latest, and they do repairs as well (for those who actually wear their watches). It's not cheap, but then a good timepiece never is. In a nutshell - ohhh baby!

I felt comfortable as soon as I entered. This isn't a big glossy store with salespeople out the front and workman hidden out the back. It's a small space with three staff working behind a glass petition and a few pieces on sale in the display cabinets. I had a number of pieces but ended up only getting two pieces repaired this time - I had a battery replaced and links taken out of my grandma's Rado watch and a fine gold bracelet soldered. $35 all up and I got a text a week later saying they were ready for collection. They talked me through why some pieces weren't worth repairing unless they had sentimental value (labour far repair far exceeded value of piece). I'm holding onto those until I have extra funds. The address says 68 Grenfell Street but its easier to find if you enter Da Costa Arcade on the east side of Gawler Place.

When she…read morereturned to collect the watch after a few hours, the person in charge said that he wasn't able to take out the battery because he didn't have the right screw driver. He only works there once a month and does not know where everything is placed. He asked if my partner could collect the watch on the next day and he would ask the person on the next shift to fix her watch. My partner asked for a refund instead as she would not be able to do that. She took the watch to a watch repairer next door, unfortunately the person said two out of the four screws on the back of the watch have been smoothened out and this means he can no longer open it up to replace the battery. She went back to tick tock again and asked the person if he may have damaged the screws because this watch has not been opened up before. The person raised his voice and said that it came like that. He was also adamant that he has not 'touched it'. She mentioned to him calmly that she found it difficult to believe as he didn't mention anything about screws being smoothened out at the first place. He denied making a mistake, raised his voice and appeared angry during the conversation to a point that she needed to ask him to lower his voice. She went to a third watch repairer and was told that the watch will need to be sent to the manufacturer for a repair and is likely to incur extra cost. I am utterly disappointed with the service that she had received from Tick tock (adelaide) and would seriously not recommend it to anyone.

The hook broke and I couldn't wear it anymore. My girlfriend at the time wasn't too upset. She thought the chain made me look like a wog. (And, to her credit, it kind of did.) But it was a gift from my godfather for my baptism, and I've always liked it. So, after splitting with that girl, I thought it was as good a time as any to get my old gold chain fixed. I'd mainly been putting it off for expense. I didn't think it would cost TOO much, but I couldn't be sure. Finally, biting the figurative bullet, I went for it. It turns out, it wasn't even really broken. Something had just come a little loose, and I'd wedged it the wrong way. I still don't really understand the particulars of the situation.
