They found that a previous repair had failed, and they weren't sure it could be re-fixed. They took a fair amount of time removing the old patch and roughing up the surface enough for a new one. For all their trouble, they only charged me $25. This was two weeks and a lot of miles ago, and no sign of any leak in the tire. Thanks, Gordo's, you kept my vacation on track.

I had my truck towed in because of a brake issue in the front of the truck. However, my brake light…read morenor ABS light was on at the time. They fixed the brake issue with new brake pads and rotors on the driver side and said they repaired the passenger side. it still makes a slight grinding sound on the passenger side. That evening my wife was driving the truck and the brake and ABS light come on. I'll take the truck back to them and they charge me $55 in addition to the $330 I paid to have the brakes fixed. The $55 charge amounted to low brake fluid and the float sticking. I have managed technicians for 35 years and would have never charged a customer the additional amount to do something that should have been checked when the initial job was done . I do not recommend this repair shop.

The closest dealer told me there was a 3 week wait to get them to look at my car, so I called the front desk of my motel, and they said Cooling's was highly respected. Well, Jimmy was super! He quickly helped me realize that the problem was probably just water in the gas, told me what I could add to the tank to relieve the issue (and where to get it because he doesn't sell it as a retail item). We took off in the rain, feeling quite a bit better, until the 'Check Engine,' light started calling me! I turned around, went right back to Cooling's, and again (without any chance of making a dime from me) Jimmy reassured me that seeing the 'Check Engine,' light was exactly the right response from my car, as it would tell my mechanic back in Austin exactly what the problem is. If Cooling's (and Jimmy) provide this type of outstanding service for folks who aren't spending a dime with them (Jimmy couldn't start taking my car apart until late that day, and I was to go home early the next morning) their service for paying customers must be legendary! In a few minutes, he told me it was simply a loose wire. "How much?" I asked. He shrugged. "Nothing. I didn't have to use any parts or anything." I can only speak on the mechanic that worked on my vehicle. Nathan said he was a certified gmc tech. One thing lead to another, one part after another part and so on equaling $4,900.00. Did the timing incorrectly, the rear seal still leaked. 3 times we had to take it back. Stoled the hood lift supports and broke the passenger side mirror. Didn't even offer to replace or fix it. I had to buy another vehicle. I can't even get receipts from him. Save yourself the headache. Nathan McElveen is as shady as they come.
