I had purchased salted Virginia peanuts while in Virginia a couple of months ago that were so good. They had virginia peanuts here but only honey roasted. So I gave them a try. My husband liked them but I didn't much care for them. Also bought stone ground grits from South Carolina that were excellent. And lastly I purchased Bequet caramels. By far the best caramels I have ever eaten. All items were pricy but fun purchases. Shop is clean, staff friendly and convenient to hang out while waiting for breakfast. Saw this option along 270 and gave it a shot and I'm glad we did. The service was amazing. I know the young lady was grinning behind her mask because her eyes twinkled. She answered all questions and spoke to both the boys and dogs. Our orders included several croissant breakfast sandwiches, large sausage and cheese kolaches and some glazed donuts. She threw in some extra donut holes and croissants for the dogs (they didn't get them, the boys did). The croissants disappeared with in minutes with the ultimate teenage praise "these are good, can we have the dogs?" The kolaches had just the right amount of roll that surrounded a juicy sausage with cheese. And the donuts? Light, airy with just the right amount of sweet. They didn't have slushies. I wanted one. Not always in the mood for dairy. The ice tea was bland. I ordered a peach hand pie as I'd been driving all day and believe something sugary is a good reward. I posted pictures, I shall call "hand pie requiem." "Food" like this shouldn't exist anymore. It was designed in some food lab 50 years ago, and is made in some dumpster fire of a factory somewhere. It tasted more like black licorice than peach pie. It was so disgusting I pitched it after two bites. For decency's sake. Take these off the menu.
