The owner (John) really seemed to care sincerely about the quality of work and keeping his customers happy. He went the extra mile to do some very small things such as painting the mailbox post while he had the paint out that was not technically part of the original scope and did not charge me extra for that. Great communication, great quality work and a great overall experience. I would definitely consider using this contractor again for future jobs.

We asked Kreg to build us cabinetry in our living room and dining room and regret every bit of it…read more He has poor work ethic, routinely showing up at 10am and leaving by 2pm. He does sloppy work. His joints were uneven. He did not fill nail holes. He doesn't believe in sanding. He tries several times to convince us something was adequately painted when the base coat was showing. He got paint all over the walls and floor and never cleaned it up His cuts were jagged and he would use poor quality lumber. When I asked him to fix certain mistakes he would say " ok I'll take care of it " and then never do it. He needed baby sitting to make sure the work was done but still did it poorly. He told us the job would take 2 weeks, which seemed long for the scope of the project, 8weeks in he still hasn't finished. We told him he has until the end of the week to finish and he has not responded back yet. He made several inappropriate comments to people in our neighborhood. He invited strangers over for a "wine tasting" at our house. We are having someone else finish his work in our living room and having all of his sloppy work in the dining room ripped out and rebuilt. Attached are pictures of what he tried to pass off as finished. Avoid Kreg at all costs.

Nearly everyone in our neighborhood recommended Kreg highly (still no idea why). We got a quote from him and my first sign to not have gone with him should have been the fact he got butt hurt when I said I am getting multiple estimates. I was taught my whole life to always get more than one estimate for any major job for your house. But whatever. We decided to go with him given multiple factors. I had a picture of my in-laws' built-ins as a basis of what I wanted ours to look like and he said he could do it for us. For the first few days of the job (he said it will take about a week), everything was running smoothly baring a few off-hand, rude comments towards my husband. You will see a common theme of odd, childish behavior here. Not at all professional. However, come the final day when I came home from work the "finished" product looked NOTHING like the picture I had shown. Apparently, he just installed his generic built-ins template he does for everyone else's house and as we figured out....is because it's the only thing he knows how to do. Nonetheless, the next week he spent 3 days trying to fix it. As the previous review mentioned, we had to fight him every step of the way to get it to look right. He was nasty and rude those last few days and by the end of it, we just wanted him gone. On that third day, he said the lights that were part of our design would be coming in the next Monday and stupidly enough, we gave him the final payment. Again, similar to previous reviewer, that Monday he never reached out to us nor installed the lights. On Wednesday, I had asked where our lights and no response. It wasn't until I threatened to open a dispute with American Express that he miraculously texted back. He did ultimately come back and install the lights the next day. However, the finished product is just not that great (I have uploaded images of it). Additionally, I didn't realize you had to specify you wanted shelves in your cabinets because we did not get them :/ All-in-all, horrible experience. Please avoid and find someone else highly-skilled and professional.
