The screen on my Xperia Z1 cracked for no apparent reason some time ago, and I had voided my…read morewarranty by unlocking the bootloader, so I had to pay to get it fixed. The first place I brought it to said it would cost $230, which was a lot more than I was willing to pay. I found MPS after a Google search, and they were extremely polite and helpful on the phone. Not only that, but they were only asking $149 for the repair! We brought it in, they were just as nice in person as on the phone; and although they normally do screen repairs within an hour or so, we had arrived at the shop very late in the day, so we had to come back the following morning. We picked it up the next day, and it was as good as new - I'm typing this review on it right now! I strongly recommend MPS for anyone, but particularly for those who have quite a high-end phone and have despaired of having it repaired for a reasonable price - I was going to sell my Z1 on ebay for parts! Top marks.

The 2nd time the same thing happened with the screen but not only did I pay full price, the store attendant misplaced my sim card in another customers phone and gave it back to them causing me to have to wait for half an hour while they scrambled to find whos phone my sim card was in, and of course that customer had already left so I had to come back the next day just to retrieve my sim card that they lost. The last time I came in I was just a few days within the warranty. After I got back to the store to pick my phone up later that afternoon I was then informed that my Digitizer was dented thus why my screen was going white and blurry, and was made to pay full price. It would have been very nice to know that my digitizer was dented the first time instead of neglecting information to get more money out of your customers. Worst customer service I've ever experienced, do not go here.

Of course, you come to an Apple store either to buy expensive things or to get your stuff fixed. As to the latter, the staff seemed as cheery as anyone else around here (and why wouldn't they be, they live in tropical paradise?). The Elizabeth arcade has a strange layout to it. It starts at the top with the boutique fashion stores, ends with a bunch of Asian resturants and right in the middle are a few really random shops like i-MAD. With barely enough room to swing a cat in this store, it has a suprising range and amount of i-phone, i-pod, and i-pad parafenailia lining its walls. I am an android person myself but I will often tease my yuppie doctor sister for buying into the i-phone phenomena. This store really is for all those people that will attempt to make their generic i-device personal by attaching a case to it. Ok ok , so I might be showing my anti-mac bias here quite a bit. Nonetheless, this store does actually have a rather nice range of accessories for your i-device. Cases range from simple colours to elaborate and shiny designs. Worth a look if you are in need of a new one.

But there is a real appeal to this place, with the eye-catching and at times outlandishly ridiculous creations (from the ultra-sleek minimal to the ostentatiously diamante-studded) shouting at you from the cluttered shop windows. When I visited toying with the idea of changing up my case style, there was apparently a 'SALE' on,with the biggest discounts I saw being in the order of 'was $24.95 now $20'. Some of their interlocking hard-cases caught my eye, but at around $50 I couldn't justify the purchase.
